Jill H. (bucs1960) Hello Keri....it is nice to have another history major among us history buffs. Please browse the threads on the home page and find those areas that are of interest to you.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to cite a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

This is how a book should look:

Brianna Hello! My name is Brianna and I'm looking forward to exploring a new genre. My grandparents have lived in the same house since the early sixties. A few years back my grandmother was cleaning the wooden railing that has been mounted to the wall leading to the upstairs. When she had striped it clean the difference in the deep expresso wood to the yellow oak, it was astonishing. That's when it clicked, the cloth she had used was soaked with years passed, all the tiny hands, aunts and uncles running down the stairs as children. I'm joining this group in hopes of being connected to all the different worlds of the past. Thanks so much

Holly (hlwelsh) | 3 comments Greetings,

My name is Holly and I joined this group because I am an 8th grade U.S. history teacher. I am from Oak Park, IL, but I am currently working toward my master's degree in history at Illinois State University.

Having lived in both Thailand and Brazil, I am interested in world history and the regions of Southeast Asia and Lain America in particular. I also enjoy U.S. social histories. Thank you for welcoming me to your group!

Holly de Paula

Bryan Craig Welcome, Holly. Glad to have a history teacher in our group. I hope you find our resources useful and please, post your favorites and read along, too.

We have southern Asia topic:

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to cite a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

This is how a book should look:

The Passage of Power (The Years of Lyndon Johnson, #4) by Robert A. Caro by Robert A. Caro Robert A. Caro

I'm interested in pretty much all areas of history since there's so much to learn. The recommendations from this book group seem fascinating, and I'm excited to start reading!
