It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. Paula Lofting (paulalofting) Hello all
My name is Paula Lofting, I'm a re-enactor of Anglo Saxon/Viking/Norman history and for my day job I am a psychiatric nurse. I have had a love of history since i was a child and all history is good as far as I am concerned but my particular period of interest is in Anglo Saxon history especially the 11thc. I also like Wars of the Roses and anything pretty much medieval.

Scott Chapman (scottwilliamchapman) Hi, Great to be part of group dedicated to history books. I hope that Ii can contribute.

History has been my passion in reading for as long as I can remember and I tend to go through specific historical periods for a while. Right now, I am reading medieval history as the town where I live was largely rebuilt around 1250 and I recently found out that one of the local castles was probably built by the Knights Templar. (fyi I am Scottish, but live I Switzerland, near Lake Geneva).

Having lived in Scotland, England, the USA and now Switzerland (the bit where we have a French culture) I am amazed at how different the perspectives on historical facts are.

Makes you cautious of accepting facts without challenging them!

Hello everyone! It is wonderful to meet some fellow history-lovers.

My name is Star. I am an American expatriate (originally from California) who lives in England, where I have been residing for the past seven years. I am married and have a four year-old son.

Since I was a preschooler, I have always had a fascination for history, antiquity. Indeed, a great deal of the kind of work I do is inspired by some facet of history or another.

Just seeing the numerous topics and boards in this group has my history-loving soul quite excited! I look forward to contributing whatever it is I can in this group through discussions. I also hope to learn a great deal from other members here as well.

I am from the United States, specifically New York. Hi Zach and welcome. Do you have a particular period or periods that you like to read about? My own are Tudor England, WWII and the Civil War era.

Welcome, Zach. Glad you could join us. Thank you for introducing yourself so quickly. I am interested to know what history you teach in 7th grade. United States History or a World History view?

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the comment box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them.
