Rosalind Minett | 4 comments Hello. I'm Rosalind Minett. I joined the History Group to learn rather than inform, my history being inadequate for my writing needs. I hope the many erudite writer/readers I see here will be able to help with history queries. Otherwise, I am dipping into posts which intrigue. Present areas I'm particularly interested in are Armenia, and Britain WW2 Home Front.

Bryan Craig Welcome, Charlene. Take look at our WWI and WW2 topics and you will find some good books there:

http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...
http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to cite a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

This is how a book should look:

The Passage of Power (The Years of Lyndon Johnson, #4) by Robert A. Caro by Robert A. Caro Robert A. Caro

Adam Daniels | 1 comments Hi everyone, my name is Adam. My love of history started when I was kid and has continued to this day. I studied US history in college and wrote my senior paper on the women who worked in the Kaiser shipyards in Richmond,CA in WWII. I feel like enough has been written and said about the battles of WWII, and find the home front to be far more interesting. I look forward to the discussions.

Bryan Craig Hi Adam and welcome. The home fronts are topics that are less explored, so it is good that more are coming out. We do have a WWII home front topic:

Jill H. (bucs1960) A warm welcome to:
Dr.Adam: I don't know how you ever had a minute to read during your residency since they keep you very busy. Good luck in the future and I hope you have more time now for your love of reading.
Shauna: We have lots of topics that fit right into your areas of interest. Bryan provided you with a couple but browse the threads and join in the discussions of other areas that catch your interest.
Adam: The Home Front is an interesting aspect of war and needs more attention from historians. You will find some book recommendations and a big picture of Rosie the Riveter on the link Bryan provided!
If any of you have questions, ask any of the moderators. Enjoy!!

Ecpagnew | 1 comments My name is Eric. I've only recently honed my interest in history, mostly focusing on science and recent (last few hundred years) political history such as the fall of monarchs, the Ottoman Empire during we I and even earlier, the ldecrease of the popes political control throughout Europe when countries converted from Catholicism. On the science side, I just read a great book about Isaac Newton's job as warden of the London mint in Newton and the Counterfeiter.
