What are you reading?

LOL Lori -- when I read that post I knew it was a spellcheck issue!

I finished

LOL Lori! Your post cracked me up.
Ugh...I hate to hear that about the Stark trilogy. I thought the first book was pretty good. This second one just isn't grabbing me. There seems to be no plot in this one.

I hadn't read the book but listened to the audiobook a few months ago. It was a full cast that included Alan Cumming and Tim Curry and was excellent!

Are you reading or listening, Regina?

I finished

I think it's funny how the author was outed as J.K. Rowling writing under a pen name and the book sales skyrocketed overnight.

DG I am reading. I am only at 3%.

It's really good. I'm around 25% of the audio. The narrator is great. He does all these different regional English accents and you can hear the difference.

I'm struggling with Special Forces - Mercenaries Part II. I'm seriously on the verge of DNF (edited from DNG;) this book.

To Seduce a Sinner was the book that got me hooked on Elizabeth Hoyt. It's rare to find a happy-go-lucky social hero with inner torment paired with an introverted dirty-talking experienced heroine. Loved it! :o) Good luck with Beguile a Beast! :o)
I'm going to try Elizabeth Essex's

Did not google?"
Hilarious!! Edited my post.

Started Beautiful Bad Man last night but didn't really get very far.
Will finish up Deadly Games tonight, very good in an A-Team meets Romancing the Stone meets Steam Punk kind of way.

DO NOT...AND I MEAN DO NOT SHELF THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT. HANG IN THERE. I PROMISE YOU IT IS WORTH THE STRUGGLES YOU ARE GOING THROUGH!!!!

thanks Anna. that's the same reason why i loved it. To Beguile a Beast is going good so far. i don't normally like kids in a novel, but James and Abigail are cute.

I don't drink so books are my drug of choice. Ha ha!

The 3rd is emotional, but the ending will be satisfying for you. #4 was scary. Do you know how the time line of Alpha & Omega intertwines with Mercy?

Guess my next book will be

Congrats, Peggy! I like Kate Morton, too, so you'll have to let me know what you think about The Secret Keeper when you get it.
WENDY & LEEA - KEEP READING SF - MERCENARIES PART 2!!! I can't say whether or not you'll be sorry, but you'll kick yourself if you don't finish, especially if you're close to being done. (view spoiler)
I'm switching gears... was slogged down in an Agatha Raisin mystery (no, not a romance) thinking it would clear my palate after the Unravling series. Unfortunately, the book and mystery seem to GO. ON. FOREVER.
Switching to

C'mon! Is that for real? Bad imagery in books always makes me laugh.

I mean, do YOU find that sexy? She's talking about this tall, dark, mysterious stranger she's attracted to.

I read one of the Alpha and Omega but remember nothing about it. So will pick up when I finish this series. Thanks for the link, Regina.

Haha. That's awkward.

Oh yeah they've been to (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>

NO SEXY at all!!

Thanks, Lisa & Lori Mc! I think all of Kate Morton's books have been stand alones. Think that The Secret Keeper is her 4th. Called my Mom as she loved The Forgotten Garden (I read her copy) and she's also very excited since now she doesn't have to purchase TSK!

After finishing Angels' Blood, I can't get into a contemporary romance mood for Mr. Perfect yet. So I've started book 2 of the Guild Hunters series,

Oh that's awesome! I cannot wait to read your review.

New Adult is the college age range. Mostly 18 to 22, imo, although some people will classify as up to age 24 (I stop at 22 because that's when most people leave a 4 year college, and before the term NA came along a lot of adult books had protags around age 23/24, so I still think of that age as adult). Characters do not need to actually be in college. It's strictly an age classification.
New Adult contemporary romance tends to be fairly steamy, not all that different from a mainstream adult contemporary romance.
Other genres in NA are not necessarily as steamy, such as UF, Sci-Fi/Fantasy and the like.
Young Adult is split into two age ranges - Middle Grade and regular Young Adult. Middle Grade is the pre-teen age range up through middle school/jr. high. Content is fairly clean.
Young Adult is pretty much high school age - 14 to 18ish. Content is varied. Some YA books have limited or no sex, violence or swearing, whereas some YA books have lots of swearing, violence and/or sex. Sex is generally not as detailed, but it really depends on the author and publisher. Some YA books actually do have full-on sex scenes with erotic detail. I've also seen graphic violence and rape in YA, but it's not as common for most mainstream books, unless the subject matter is about abuse.

Have never read Dracula; too scary for me! Read Wuthering Heights years ago but don't remember much of the storyline. Maybe watching the movie would help :D
