Nina | 6069 comments No flowers here and still hoping for more rain. So odd that it rains north and south of us. We are like the "middle child" that doesn't get the attention of the one above and the one below.

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Hope you will get some rain soon.

message 2303: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments Jim wrote: "We're supposed to have a nice week coming up, but more rain by the middle. Too much rain. I'm glad our floors are brown. There's no keeping up with all the mud we're all dragging in."

We'll have some mud once all the snow melts. Quite a lot of sand in the driveway. Once the weather is warm and we hook up hose, we'll be sweeping and washing down the driveway to get rid of all that sand!

Nina | 6069 comments Looks like we are back to winter on Easter, unfortunately for the little ones on an Easter Egg hunt; snow showers and high in the upper thirties..Bah Humbug. But hope you all have a Happy
Easter wherever you are and that your weather if much better than ours.

message 2305: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Happy Easter to all!

message 2306: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments Happy Easter Everyone!

message 2307: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Not nice weather here tomorrow. Today is sixty five degrees but is going down to the twenties overnight and snow showers tomorrow and only in the thirties. Poor Easter Bunny delivering eggs in a snowstorm.

message 2308: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) We were close to freezing this morning, but slowly warmed up to almost 60 today. I think tomorrow morning is supposed to be nice with storms blowing in later. I hope it dries out some more. The grass is coming in strong, but we're still feeding hay & I have to move some. It's just too soupy today after a week of daily rain.

message 2309: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Temps got up to 50 today. Things are looking up!

message 2310: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Is this an April Fool's joke or what mother nature is sending us snow on Easter? What does she think this is, Christmas?

message 2311: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Yes, it sounds like an April Fool's joke, snow on Easter Sunday.
Fortunately, we had a sunny day near 50F.

message 2312: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) We're sodden, with possible snow on Thursday. The grass was growing by the inch today & my neighbor just had to get out. He's 94 & said he was tired of sitting inside talking to himself. I had just finished moving the hay from one barn to another making mud tracks in the grass when I noticed he was stuck, so I drove over there & helped him get out. I can sympathize with him, but it's just too wet to mow.

message 2313: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Bad situation. Maybe time will improve things.

message 2314: by Nina (last edited Apr 02, 2018 08:35AM) (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Fog and black ice this morning's commuters. Hope my daughter is safe driving on freeways. Very much warmer in the morning, hopefully.

message 2315: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Still colder than usual for here in April. Such weird weather. It is supposed to set a record cold tonight; low in the twenties and on Thursday it is to be sixty eight degrees. Once someone asked a new arrival if this city had four seasons and he answered them, "Yes, sometimes all in one day." He wasn't far off

message 2316: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Fourteen degrees tomorrow night and seventy five degrees next Wednesday. Not more than three inches of snow in four years.

message 2317: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I guess we're stealing all your snow, Nina. It was 72 here on Tuesday & 23 on Thursday morning. It was 34 this morning. Tonight we're supposed to get 3-6" of snow which would be a record for April. Mother Nature is off her meds. Sigh.

message 2318: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Right now it's snowing here. Hope it won't amount to much.

message 2319: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Before this year I had never heard of snow showers but that is what we're having tonight. I must plant flowers and how do I do that when the temp tonight is in the record setting teens?

message 2320: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments This too shall pass.

message 2321: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I haven't been able to plant any veges yet, either. Sigh.

message 2322: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments Put hummingbird feeders out on Monday. Took them back in yesterday. Water was frozen. Got 3 icky inches of snow!
Snow not on driveway but on lawn and deck.

message 2323: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Hope it warms up soon!

message 2324: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) It was 45 when I went to bed last night & I heard it start raining, but it changed. This morning it's 26 with ice & a 1/2" of snow. Yuck. It's still snowing, but not much. Just a steady, light snow with very small flakes. It's spring! I have seeds for the gardens!!! Quit with winter already!!!

message 2325: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments I too wish winter would quit!

message 2326: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Is that a promise?

message 2327: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments No promises. :)

message 2328: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Maybe next weekend we'll finally see spring..but I hate to get my hopes up.

message 2329: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments Nice sunny, although cold day. No threats of snow!

message 2330: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Wish it would warm up.
Our current temp at 8:39 AM is 28.8 F.

message 2331: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Me too. Even thirty seven isn't warm for April here. We set a record for low temps the other night as it was in the teens. Average temp at night here is in the forties. Let it get there please.

message 2332: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Bundle up! :)

message 2333: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments Still cold. Sunny though. Keep hearing the word "snow" on the weather reports. Although the snow may not stick - it just shouldn't be here at this time of year.

message 2334: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Snow is a 4 letter word!

message 2335: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Eighty degrees yesterday and today but still leery of planting my pansies as the weekend nights are predicted to be in the twenties. Such a strange April so far.

message 2336: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments 55.8 F here.

message 2337: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments How is your weather Jim? We are in the eighties and perhaps you will be soon. Very cold over weekend however; down to twenties at night.

message 2338: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) It hit 72 today. Gorgeous out. Too hot, actually. Unfortunately, I have a cold & it's making my life miserable. Don't have the energy to enjoy it properly.

message 2339: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Yes, colds take the joy out of life. Hope you are feeling better soon. Even if it's seventy eat some chicken soup and drink lots of liquid. And how do I tell you to rest? Do you ever? I haven't been getting any Goodreads..what are...? Only movies and weather; none from you, Joy or Linda either. Have any been posted?

message 2340: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) You've replied to the only post I've made here, I think. I am taking it easy, but I have so much that needs to be done. I need to get some of the early stuff planted in the garden, but that requires turning it a bit to get rid of the weeds & cleaning the goats' house. I use their bedding as the mulch for the garden. Maybe tomorrow morning. I need to mow the lawn, but the mower wants its oil changed. I'll try to get to that tonight.

message 2341: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Thanks Jim, for the reply. Good luck with your chores and hope your cold has abated.

message 2342: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments We're under a Tornado Watch tonight. Wish us luck.

message 2343: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Good luck, Nina.

message 2344: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Good luck, Nina. We hit 80 today, but I was feeling too punk to get anything done. It's supposed to rain all weekend, so I guess I'll take it easy. It's supposed to get colder too, almost down to freezing by Sunday morning. No wonder I have a cold!

message 2345: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Two days here this week in the eighties and now it's getting very cold again with lows at night in the twenties. How can I ever plant some flowers?

message 2346: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Hope it warms up soon.

message 2347: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) The rain held off until about 11am, so I was able to change the oil in the mower, grease it, & get the lawn mowed. No dew, thankfully. Still nice out, in the 60s.

message 2348: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments we are expecting a wintry mix late today into tomorrow morning. guess Mother Nature does not realize this is SPRING!

Temp now is cloudy, 30 degrees and quite windy.

message 2349: by Joy H., Group Founder (new)

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Our weather forecast certainly does not look good for the entire week! Take a look:

message 2350: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Someone should tell Mother Nature it's Spring. Tomorrow here very cold in the twenties early morning and then on Tuesday it is sixty eight. How do you regulate your body to those temps?
