Nina | 6069 comments Grass being cut today and trees barely turning

message 2752: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Ours are turning quite a bit now. We've been below freezing every morning for a week or so. We're getting up into the 50s ever day, so it's been nice. Rain & cold coming, though.

message 2753: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Fifteen degrees tonight. Way below normal for this time of year and hasn't been this cold on the day since 1911 Brrr!

message 2754: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) They were calling for 13 as the low here, but I think that's since been raised thankfully. It was 60 today until about 2pm & the temps have been falling ever since. Actually plummeting & they're calling for up to 1.5" of snow. Ugh.

message 2755: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Seven degrees tonight. Setting a record.

message 2756: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) It started snowing last night about 8pm & the temps had fallen to 32. My car was a mess to scrape off this morning at 4:30am. Only 1/2" or a bit more of snow, but lots of ice on it & it was 23 out. Down to 20 now & still falling. Big change & not for the better.

message 2757: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) It was 9 degrees when I got up this morning & it will probably drop a bit more in the hours before dawn. My wife had trouble yesterday morning with her school bus air brakes. This cold any bit of moisture freezes to clog up the works. Thankfully, I think this is it & it will get a bit warmer.

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments Cold and windy but hey the sun 🌞 is out

message 2759: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) We had really bad winds on Wednesday. Yesterday was chilly, never made 40, but sunny with only a light breeze. It was a cold one.

message 2760: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments 11/30 cold again. Sun is out. Sky a light blue. Expecting snow tomorrow so we'll go out and enjoy today. Starting with a car ride to no destination.

message 2761: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) It's pouring cold rain here - 37 since last night & the temp hasn't budged. They originally said an inch of rain, but I'm sure we passed that before dawn & are probably closer to 3" now.

message 2762: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments We are expecting snow - not sure of amount - perhaps a foot? With a 300-foot driveway thank goodness we have a snow plow guy!

message 2763: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Not too bad for DEC. in the fifties and sixties; but colder next week.

message 2764: by Mary JL (new)

Mary JL (maryjl) | 527 comments Average for Omaha , Nebraska has been in the forties and fifties. Very dry--no sow for the last 10 days. Nice--but I have sneaking suspicion that when it decides to change, it will do so FAST and dump six inches on us!

message 2765: by Mary JL (new)

Mary JL (maryjl) | 527 comments I hexed myself! In Omaha right now, 17 degrees; minus 4 wind chill and light blowing snow. I think those 40 degree days will be gone for a long time now.

message 2766: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Yuck. We have cold coming, but nothing like that. Looks like the snow is supposed to be south & east, thankfully.

message 2767: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments raining and 37degrees

message 2768: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments cold 19 degrees - the moon was beautiful last night - so illuminating and even bright at 630 this morning

message 2769: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments Can actually see grass on my lawn in some areas. 25 degrees.
Partially cloudy. Good day to go out and so some errands.

message 2770: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Less snow is always good!

message 2771: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Not less snow here/snowing like crazy and we are supposed to go to a party up the street this evening. Wish us luck.

message 2772: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments In the twenties and six inches of snow on the ground. However, one good thing about our weather is that by Thursday it will be in the forties and fifty degrees by Sunday

message 2773: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) We're just a bit too warm for snow, thankfully. It was pouring rain all night & drippy today, all the while in the mid 30s.

message 2774: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Four inches of snow so far and one day in the twenties, today thirty five and on Monday they are predicting sixty degrees. Here you wait a day for the change in the weather.

message 2775: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I think the daily thing is most areas, Nina. That's about what happened to my son in RI last week.

message 2776: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Near sixty degrees on Christmas. Yeah!

message 2777: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) It's really nice here, too. Mid 50s today & clear skies.

message 2778: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Christmas almost a record; sixty seven degrees.

message 2779: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Wow! We were about 10 degrees cooler, but I think it's supposed to be warmer today.

message 2780: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Sixty eight degrees in downtown K.C, on Christmas Day.

message 2781: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Warmest day of the month was Christmas day at sixty sixth degrees.

message 2782: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I don't know if we got quite that warm, but it was certainly nice out for a good week. I got a lot done. Sunday it rained all day & it was just miserably cold & windy Monday & Tuesday. Today was chilly, I don't think it got much above the mid 30s, but it was sunny with very little wind, so pretty pleasant. I went for a ride around the place on Cloud. The girls fattened him up enough that he's comfortable to ride bareback.

The girls had their horses at Masterson Station for a ride with a bunch, so it was just the goats & Cloud in the field. The goats went with us for a while, but decided it was too much like work. They made a lot of noise, but finally quit in disgust & went back to their house to sunbathe. The dogs had a good time.

message 2783: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Sounds like a good day all around. Hope your New Year is happy.

message 2784: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments Happy New Year!

Good weather the last two days. Prior to that I was shoveling and treating our driveway parking area to avoid ice. Weather warmed up and was able to clear most of the icy/snow mess.

Temps in the high 30's yesterday and today. Ahhh. High of 43 expected tomorrow, Friday.

message 2785: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Three inches of snow and people are cross country skiing across the street from us.

message 2786: by Linda (new)

Linda (goodreadscomlinda_p) | 1251 comments Nina, most of the snow is gone from our yards up here. Last weekend it was around the high 50's and in Albany, NY (an hour south of here) it was 60 degrees.

So, I went for a walk by the lake. Luckily I did bundle up cause it was windy. Well, After 10 minutes of walking I was getting very cold snow drops on my nose every once in a while. I laughed. Went home and listened to the news saying folks in Albany said it was balmy out. Not here, that's for sure!

message 2787: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Four degrees tonight. Brrrr; need I say more?

message 2788: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Brrr! We've been in the teens & low 20s all day with bits of snow falling. Not enough to stick, but the wind is up enough that it feels way colder than it should. Not much sun, either.

message 2789: by Nina (new)

Nina | 6069 comments Two nights ago it was four degrees; tonight more like thirty five and snow expected tomorrow.

message 2790: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Thankfully we're warmer, staying around 40, so we just have cold rain.
