Ju Transcendancing (transcendancing) I just finished Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, which I enjoyed a lot although the end was rushed and I think there was maybe a tying together chapter missing. There was much to love about it though, especially if you like fanfic.

message 502: by Holland (new)

Holland (skittyy) I just finished up Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas, and I'm sad that I no longer have any SJM books left to read until ACOWAR lol. I just started reading Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo.

message 503: by Ann (new)

Ann | 11 comments I just read Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda last week and I adored that book! I cannot say enough good things about it.
It was YA and had virtually zero.zero smexy times...but it was too brilliant for those points to cause issues or take away from the amazing story.
Also, I have never read a more accurate depiction of high school theater than I read in this book.

I really liked Pathfinder by T.A. White. I really liked the world building, the characters actually felt like real fleshed out people. The heroine was clever and practical, and since you see most of it from her point of view I found it refreshing.

I find myself re-reading this title upon occasion, when the mood strikes me. There's very little actual sexy times in it, but I found the interactions to be intriguing. l found myself grinning and laughing to myself.

message 505: by April G (new)

April G I have about 30 minutes left in the audiobook version of The Curse of Tenth Grave by Darynda Jones. When I finish this, I'm on the waitlist for the 11th book so I have no idea what I'll read in between.

message 506: by Malaraa (new)

Malaraa | 335 comments This one is just straight up fantasy, but had to say: Just (weepily) finished the Uncorrected Proof I won of City of Miracles!

All the excitement! All the the feels! So satisfying, yet heartbreaking!

And now I have to watch out what I read next, because lesser books are going to seriously suffer by comparison for a little while. :)

Luisa María Vázquez | 2 comments Just finished a re-read of Dead Until Dark. Pure guilty pleasure.

Sun Goddess Moon Witch | 5 comments Just finished Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies, #1) by Isaac Marion

message 509: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Burroughs (pooks) Just started listening to The Seventh Bride and omg it is blowing my mind. I love it already.

message 510: by Becca (new)

Becca (herblackwings29) | 87 comments I'm in a new (to me) series state of mind. Recently I read Naked in Death and Dead Witch Walking. Both were enjoyable so tonight I finished off Glory in Death. I've got Poltergeist by Kat Richardson and The Good, the Bad, and the Undead on my currently reading shelf.

message 511: by Cassandra James (new)

Cassandra James | 2 comments I just finished reading Fire After Dark by Sadie Matthews.
It was an alright read, some okay sexy-times and an easy self insert fantasy to read. Especially if you enjoy reading about London.
It has BDSM elements, however if you're in the kink scene at all or know generally how people who practice BDSM are supposed to conduct themselves - this book may irritate you.

message 512: by Kristi (new)

Kristi | 6 comments I just finished Anne Bishops Shadows and light. I picked up two different books to decide.one is Kathryn Caskie's The Most Wicked of Sins. The other book is Kresley Cole's Dreams Of A Dark Warrior. I'm almost certain I've read the Kresley Cole book but can't remember.

Has anyone read either?

I've read a few Kresley Cole books! There were two on the book club in the past, Shadow's Claim and Shadow's Seduction! Her Immortals After Dark series is one that I actually really like! I haven't read Dreams of a Dark Warrior yet though. The last book I read was actually No Rest for the Wicked

I have a copy of Master of Crows coming in the mail sometime next week, and I'm extremely impatient to read it! I saw Felicia gave it a 5 star review in the past, so I'm pretty excited.

message 514: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelso30) I've recently finished the series Stolen by an Alien
Currently reading Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood
Up next is Bitten, and re-reading Ready Player One

OMG! [book:Stolen by an Alien
was surprisingly good! I don't know why I like the "Mars Needs Women" trope so much, but this one definitely hits the Barbarian Alien right on the head and I loved it.

I just finished The Witch With No Name the final in the Hallows series by Kim Harrison.

Demon from the Dark Is my favorite in this series. It also lead me to discover the wonderful world of Barbarian Romances and I'm terrified I will one day run out of this trope. The pool is already getting dry, and the ones I find seem to have lower ratings.

message 517: by Marian (new)

Marian Gray I just finished reading Patricia Briggs' Moon Called and am hopping onto Pullman's The Golden Compass since HBO (or some tv producer) is making a series out of it.

Does anyone have any recommendation for after The Golden Compass? I'm trying to find a good academy series to read, but Amazon is flooded with them, and I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed.

message 518: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Looking forward to starting In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren

message 519: by Madelyn (new)

Madelyn (madelynkontis) | 17 comments I'm participating in a challenge that requires me to ask for a recommendation based on my review of the book i just read. I finished The Perfect Front Man by Christie Gordon. I gave it 5 stars. I don't have much to say other than its one type of book i like to read; short, cute, sexy.

What should i read next?
