I Just Finished Reading (or I'm Reading Next!)

for customizable fantasy: read Entwined! I am putting on my to-do list :p Entwined by Cecillia Tan et al.

The interesting part of the Ether Chronicles is that Archer trades books in the series with her husband, Nico Rosso. His Nights of Steel is the first "VF" novel I can remember reading that is written by a man. You can kind of tell from the dialogue and descritions, but it's not a bad thing at all. I think it would make a good theme one month, ladyporn books written by a dude!

A friend of mine lent it to me last week, and it's a very good read. Now have to go and buy ALL the other books in the series. So much for my book budget!

I wonder can anyone recommend Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter?

I haven't read it myself, but one of the reviewers I really like (and usually agree with) said it was more of a high school drama than anything else, so unless you enjoy such books it doesn't seem worth reading.

Gosh I LOVE that book :)

About to start "The Phantom Tollbooth" which is what my oldest is re..."
I love that movie/book. So clever!

...and it's completely charming. There's an animated version of it that I believe you could find on Youtube, which I'm going to hunt around for.
Edit: Here's part 1 of that animation:

A fellow goodreadian, Alicja, recommended an author to me a while back, and I was converted after the first book by her I read:

So, my plan for the end of the year is to read this one:

...because that seems like a good way to round out 2013.

Thanks thats good advice - i don't fancy high school dramas - not my thing at all. :)

Rebecca, sp have you finished the entire series yet? I love Nalini Singh's shifters. They are totally awesome!!

I read that, too. Heartbreaking and infuriating. :( Strongly recommended.
The most recent book I read was Elizabeth Hunter's A Hidden Fire.

I really enjoyed the series, though the fist and last book were much better than the second.
I loved the concept of the books which is really neurotic people could zing others with their crazy, thus expelling it from themselves. Great for them, not so much for the target. So, they only zap bad guys. Book would make a great Joss Wedon TV series.

Not at all VF, but, from what I know, quite amusing. I heard a bit of it read aloud years ago on a local kid's TV show. A bit Alice-in-Wonderlandish, although not so much weird, as odd.
