Ugh. This started so well. It was hilarious. Like, ugly-laugh-out-loud-funny. But then things progressed too quickly between the two characters, the humor disappeared, and this turned into some 1950s style sappy romance. All in all, the second half f

Navessa Allen, Scandal

“I wanted to throw off the chains that bound me and give my entire being to someone. I wanted to know what it felt like to love another so much that the whole world came crashing down around me when it ended. I wanted obsession. I wanted madness. I wanted something all-consuming. And now that I realized it, I didn’t think that I would ever be the same again. And that terrified me.”

Casey Holy Hell woman are you back???

message 552: by Casey

Casey Yeah for getting back to reading and writing. Sometimes a break is needed just to kind of reset. I am really lame so in terms of social media I have GR and FB, but that's it. I really only use FB to keep in touch with my friends & family back home so I'm not on it that much anyway.
I'm sorry you're dealing with book world drama and what should be fun and exciting became.... not at all fun and exciting.
I would love to have your words in front of my face in whatever version you should choose to provide them. I LOVE reading about your characters so you are welcome to send anything you want my way. I promise I will devour it appropriately.
I finally got a huge project at work off of my desk so I should actually be able to be back on here more than I have been this past month. If you ever need to rant you know how to send me stuffs : )

message 551: by Casey

Casey Are you ever going to give me more Scandal? I'll even take the unedited version at this point. You got me addicted then abandoned me. I promise to send all the wine I can get my hands on for a few more hits chapters.
*whimpers pathetically*

Casey Remember when Indiana's governor pushed that legislation through that essentially legalized discrimination against homosexuals but the people of Indiana had a freak out so it was overturned? Well, that same asshat is at it again and as expected, the women of Indiana are pissed.

message 549: by Casey

Casey UGH! Poorly informed women like this ... just... goddammit!

Yes, it is okay to not be a feminist if that is your choice but appreciate that you HAVE THE CHOICE BECAUSE OF FEMINISM.

Just so you know, this has popped up in my Faceplace feed THREE times today so between this and the chapters I read last night in Butterfly Lane I just want to rage quit doing everything today. Also... I really hope there is still a chance you might post the next Scandal chapter tomorrow. I need a pick-me-up this week.

☆☽Erica☾☆ Can you pleeeease read Revenge and the Wild next?? I'm dying to hear what you think of it. :D

message 547: by Casey

Casey Hmmm..... staying late on a Friday at work means it will mostly be deserted right?

message 546: by Casey

Casey I refuse to read any of the reviews or status updates for Scandal because I'm terrified I will accidentally spoil myself and it is too fun to not know what the hell you might throw at me next.

message 545: by Casey

Casey *reads new chapter against better judgement*

I'm beginning to think you are doing this to me on purpose.

message 544: by Casey

Casey LOL!
I have had two "prolific little shit factories" of my very own so I can tell you from the other side that having one doesn't necessarily affect the respecting of someone else's not having one. I think people either get it or they don't so I'm sorry that your family isn't more supportive. They should just spoil the hell out of the cute tiny person already offered upon the family squee alter and be happy with that.

I am almost hesitant to read the new chapter if the cliffhanger is going to limit logical thought process for the rest of the day.
But of course I'm totally gonna read it.

And then I'm gonna lose my shit and wail in my office about how unfair you are to me. But then I will do a happy dance when you post the next one.

^ hmmmm.... reaction could also be hormone related....

(fucking hormones are THE. WORST.)

I added the author's book to my tbr too because I feel like the mythology and mystery/UF aspect could be really interesting plus I think this is an author I really want to support if she is willing to put her ideas out there even when they go against popular opinion of the HEA.

Casey I found the sister of my soul on Pinterest last night. I have no idea who she is but she has an entire board dedicated to nothing but pictures of men in kilts.

Obviously I am now following her.

message 539: by Casey

Casey How in all hell did you know I would so desperately need to see such a glorious sight this morning? I have wretched things happening in my sinuses and didn't even want to get out of bed.

That picture helped.

I think all men should start wearing kilts.

Ashley *Hufflepuff Kitten* See, I'm the one who's never satisfied enough to leave things alone even when I KNOW first drafts are supposed to be shit. I edit as I go along and thus never get anything finished. This is why NaNoWriMo is helpful, because then I have to tell my inner editor to stfu so I can pound out words -- it works for the most part, although I've still never hit the 50K mark on anything (yet). Editing is my favorite thing, I'm manic about proofreading and things like that.

Ashley *Hufflepuff Kitten* WHEEEEEEEEEE.

Seriously though, no rush. Peer pressure from someone who has yet to finish a draft seems like the height of hypocrisy, so I do my best not to pester. In the meantime, I need to focus on writing too. My goal for the year is to devote at least an hour a week to my current WIP -- it's worked out alright so far, I got 900+ words written in 2 hours a week or so ago.

Ashley *Hufflepuff Kitten* Coryyyy <3

Okay so I saw you've been posting chapters from Scandal (and I've finally caved and am interested in reading it) but my question regards Bisclavret. More plz?

Well I'm double excited because as it turns out I'm totally into Scandal's super sexy start and don't mind getting some more of that action too. But I'm totally gonna squee when you get back to Cailleach.
Because FUCK YES.

Cozen Whole moley girl. It's bee a while since we last spoke but I came across this last night from one of my favorite comedic artic at his website, "The Oatmeal". I read it and immediately you can into mind. Don't ask me why but I think it's something you'll enjoy. Unfortunately, it might have tarnished forever to think beyond this piece whenever I attempt to read another book in the genre of paranormal.

When I read this... All those static books with the insta-love came to be judged. And Failed. Think of the all the books related to the werewolf theme and what common pieces are usually threaded within them. Also creepily, the Twilight series might have been better if it had gone this way instead. So check it out for me and let me know what you think.

BECAUSE I HAVE TO KNOW. It should take but five minutes to read. You also might want to not be drinking anything when you read it.

message 530: by Figgy

Figgy Merry Christmas, Navessa! I hope you're having a great one!

message 529: by Casey (last edited Nov 23, 2015 06:26AM)

Casey Well I read a terrible fucking book this weekend. So bad I'm not even going to write a review for it because then I would have to admit I read it. When I wasn't rolling my eyes from the alpha-douche wtf-ery I was cringing at the male mc's internal monologue about "needing to breed" the female mc.
(and this was surprisingly NOT a PNR)

So bad. So disappointing.

Please tell me you had time this weekend to write some more or are at least planning to post more soon.

message 510: by Casey

Casey Oh my goodness I have missed you lady. I hope you are planning to stay back on here for a bit (unless the gr gremlins come attacking again). I can only creep on your website so many times you know.
I have made three people read your Cailleach chapters already and the unanimous decision is that you are amazeballs, but I think you already knew that LOL!

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* I didn't figure you would mind :). However since I named you and all I figured I would mention it, in case it, for whatever reason, bothered you.

Karlyflower *The Vampire Ninja, Luminescent Monster & Wendigo Nerd Goddess of Canada (according to The Hulk)* HAI LADY,

I hope you don't mind (because I've already done it). I was having a chat about feminism and I used you as an example of a hardcore feminist who is ALSO extremely feminine - to prove a point about the core of feminism being a CHOICE to be what you want regardless of whether what you want is regarded as traditionally girly or whatever.
