Have you read Thoughtless (Thoughtless, #1) by S.C. Stephens ? Its quite addictive. It's more like a boyfriends best friend sort of thing though, I don't know if that bothers you?
You might like One Tiny Lie (Ten Tiny Breaths, #2) by K.A. Tucker as well.

Inês | 583 comments After reading Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) by Jamie McGuire , I read Easy by Tammara Webber and I really liked it, there's some similarities with the romance.
There's also Foreplay (The Ivy Chronicles, #1) by Sophie Jordan , I also liked it a lot :)

María | 2037 comments I have a very strange request:

My little sister, who is almost 13 years old, told me last night that she maybe will read a book setting in Africa. Since she was a little girl has been fascinated by this continent. Do you know any book that I can give to her?
Thanks!

Errin (chaolaena) My favorite college romances are Wait For You and Trust In Me by Jennifer L Armentrout. Also, Exposure and Dark Frame by Iris Blaire but those two are pretty heavy with adult content so I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for :)

Tara Ellis | 33 comments Hi there! I see that you are looking for a quick read. I have a trilogy I've published this past year, and am always looking for feedback. #1 comment I have gotten so far is that it's hard to put down, so maybe you'd enjoy it. The first book, 'Bloodline' is only .99 right now at Amazon so you might want to check it out and see if it's your type of book.

I am finding that the hardest thing right now is getting feedback from anyone other than family and friends! :)

Bloodline by Tara Ellis

The second book is 'Heritage', and I am currently working on the third (and final) 'Descent'.

(The Forgotten Origins Trilogy)

Heritage Book Two of the Forgotten Origins Trilogy by Tara Ellis

Happy reading!

Thanks Tris! I hope you enjoy them, and I would love feedback of any kind. It would especially help me right now while working on the third and final book! :)

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover
Was the best book I read so far this year.

Princeofrai | 1 comments Hello, this is my first time using good reads groups so hopefully i'm doing this right. I'm looking for a new book series to read but i'm kind of picky so hopefully someone here can help me. I'm new to reading series and the two i liked most are the Caster Chronicles and the Intertwined Series, both young adult paranormal romances. I'm going to list what i'm looking for.

-More than just one book. I prefer trilogies or more.

- Male lead/POV. I am ok with it shifting between chapters similar to the Intertwined series (the other was a girl, though the male lead had the most chapters)but really like Male POV only.

- Setting doesn't matter to me much as in i don't care if its modern or old times, sci fi or fantasy but one thing that is a must is romance. The whole book doesn't have to be about romance but a nice long detailed subplot works.

-I prefer ages of main characters to be middle school-university ages and especially like when they grow up in a series similar to Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Usually high school aged main characters is my favorite.

Thats about it i think. I would appreciate any recommendations.

Yes I've read the Hex Hall series and I"ve also read School Spirits. You could easily read it without having read the other series in entirety, but you might be opening yourself up to some spoilers for the Hex Hall series.

message 471: by Mira (new)

Mira Hi there :) I was hoping somebody would help me find a good read.

Here's the deal. I've been reading a lot of YA recently and mostly paranormal. I would like a book that is not about teenagers or high school or any of that. I wouldn't mind Romance but nothing that could be shelved as Erotica. I don't know just something interesting about adults. No stupid problems or whiny teens. (I may not have had the best reads recently lol) Hopefully something intense and interesting. Maybe has brothers? Or mental illness? Or a psychological thriller? (nothing like Gone Girl). I'm not sure exactly, but I guess I want to read something completely different. So... surprise me :)

would you consider I Hunt Killers (Jasper Dent, #1) by Barry Lyga . the main characters are teenagers, but it's not about being in high school. it's also very different from other books i've read.

I would also suggest Flat-Out Love (Flat-Out Love, #1) by Jessica Park or Easy by Tammara Webber which are new adult romances. (college aged main characters) and not erotica.

as for paranormal romance, i might suggest A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness i loved this book! and no one is a teenager. i think the protagonist is in her early thirties.

also paranormal romance Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor is excellent. i think everyone is college aged.

Have you tried any of Sarah Addison Allen's books.
If you haven't check out Garden Spells. A little bit of magic and romance, no teens. Sounds like it could be a good fit.

The Mercy of Thin Air may be another one to try.

Another adult series that may be worth checking out is Soulless. One of my favorite adult series.

Joshilyn Jackson also writes some fun books that have a little mystery. I really enjoyed Gods in Alabama.

Mira @Tara Thanks a lot! :D I think Gods in Alabama looks pretty good. I'll check that one first :)

K.M. Woodard | 3 comments Hi everyone! A good read suggestion... Check out my book, similar to Harry Potter. Two main characters Wizdom and Pandora go on an adventure with dragons, goblins, wizards, evil and magic!

Its my first book in a series and the second book will feature the two main characters going to wizard school, among other adventures!

Very excited to be a part of the author world and I LOVE to read as well, big LOTR and Hobbit fan too of course!! My friends say my house looks like a museum.

I look forward to feedback and future chats...Wizdom and Pandora: The Quest for the Blood Jewel

message 495: by Micah (new)

Micah (sinvega) | 5 comments Please recommend me some new reads :D

I am crazy about dystopian but it doesn't need to be dystopian.

I usually prefer male protag but most books are female protags. So I settle.

My main requirements

1. Dystopian is a plus though not required
2. Sci-fi/Fantasy/Paranormal(I can deal with Sci-fi but nothing to out there lol...)

3. Bad Boy/Anti-hero type of male character who is a character and not just a plot device/love interest

or at least a good guy who is not "Goody goody & Mr. Perfect"
4. Action, Suspense and twists galore

Preferably be a trilogy or series.

Some series I loved/liked

1. Shatter Me(Loved only for Warner)
2. The darkest minds(Love Clancy)
3. poison princess(Liked, almost love)
4. Elemental Series by Brigid Kemmerer(Love)
5. Mara Dyer(Love)

Reading soon:
Under The Never Sky
Half-bad

The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner :
If you haven't already read it, it matches most of you're requirements. There are definitely appreciated anti-hero's, and I would definitely not consider Thomas (the main character) to be a goody goody, though I guess some could.

The House of the Scorpion (Matteo Alacran, #1) by Nancy Farmer :
One of my favorite books and a very good dystopia, but not as quick and action-y as some others.

Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu
Very fast paced, set in a pleasingly destructive society, and staring my favorite bad boy yet.

I'm not sure of your preference, but here's some I like!

From Fame to Shame by Veronica Blade A cute story that's an easy, fast read about one twin getting bribed into substituting for the other twins Hollywood life.

Half-Blood (Covenant, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout First in a really good series. Kind of reminds me of Vampire Academy, but with Greek gods.

Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer One of my favorite werewolf books. A great world to read about.

Hope this helps :)
