Please Introduce Yourself, Let's All Get To Know Each Other

Grrrrr, it deleted the entire comment! Here we go again. Part of the attraction of this group is the fun and light-hearted interaction between members. If we take that away, we are left with a board full of lone introductions that tend to make the writer of the introduction feel ignored and invalid.
I think we should continue to have fun on he intro board as a way for the group to introduce itself to the newbie (the introduction should be two-way). If it looks like there is a potential tangential thread that we want to explore, then a suggestion to move said discussion to "board zyx" would allow us to continue with the good-natured joking and playfulness that helps make this group what it is, and it would also help the new folks explore the other boards and threads this group has to offer.
Good morning,We are husband and wife writing team, Cynthia K. Garrett and Michael C. Smith. We write together as Garrett Smith. Tulsa, Oklahoma is our home. We love to travel and have toured much of the US in our R.V. (R.V.=recreational vehicles here in the U.S., aka caravans elsewhere)
Cynthia has also traveled throughout Europe, and especially loves Prague and Budapest. Michael lived for three years in the Caribbean Islands, and has travel in south and central America.
We published Rabbit Hole
, the first book in The Paradox Series last year. The series is a thriller with a time travel theme. We are currently working on the second book, and hope to have it out by the end of the year. The first two chapters of Rabbit Hole can be found at our web site http://paradoxseries.com.
All the best,
Cynthia & Michael

However, there were so many emails coming to me from that thread that were just conversations that I'm not part of. It can become annoying. I feel threads set boundaries of what should be talked about. Welcome is welcome. Chit chat is chit chat. I was going to drop out if the group my first day because it was overwhelming. I've blocked the threads that I don't care to get notifications from, so now it works for me.

Welcome Garrett(Cynthia & Michael) My moms maiden name is Cynthia Garrett....
Welcome, Sue. And there is a way to set your preferences based on your own, well, preferences, so as not to get email notifications if you don't want them.
Members and friends
I just want all of us to enjoy our time here, have fun, be friendly and have great recommendations.
Go through all the threads, and post, get involved in all posts, have fun.
All I ask is we attract new members, with a friendly and fun group.
That's what I believe we do.
Alan ... I am looking forward to the new Jack Reacher
... The New Will Robie... The New John Puller...
Zack.. fun and friendly... I agree.

And I am looking forward to the new Stephen Hunter/ Bob Lee Swagger book, Sniper's Honor.I have to say I am a little disappointed in Mr. Hunter. The book has come out but only in hard copy. Come on Mr. Hunter....paper is so yesterday. I need my ebook and I need it like yesterday.
Yes good point.
Worth knowing I get a daily/weekly message on the groups I am a member of, guess which group has the most posts, yes we do.

Hi, I am Vasudha. I am almost 15 years old. I love reading thrillers and would love to get to know more such books.
Hello all. Joined and then never got around to introducing myself (bad, bad girl). My reading interests are all over the place, thrillers, mysteries, historical fiction, literary, non-fiction. My downfall is any good book and I've lost LOTS of sleep over the years because of a good book. Loading up my Kindle this week for next week's beach vacation. (insert huge smile).

Welcome to all the newbies. This is the group to get good recommendations & oh yeah- we're a friendly bunch.
Note to Sean: This group has trebled in numbers since i joined. Congratulations Sean & thank you for all your hard work. Same goes for the other moderators.

Hi, guys. I've been a member for a while and have no idea if I've formally introduced myself yet. I'm Victoria Dougherty and I'm a mad thriller fan. I'm also an author of historical spy thrillers, so having like-minded reader friends introduce me to thrillers that help me learn, grow and most of all keep on enjoying the genre is a Godsend. I love anything by Raymond Chandler or Alan Furst. Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, East of Eden, Child 44, The Alienist, The Man Who Was Thursday, Mickey Spillane is fun, The Captive Mind, most Greek Tragedies, The Name of the Rose, any Uncle Oswald story, Peter Mayle beach reading, Shantaram...as for movies,Casablanca, Dr. Zhivago, Raiders of the Lost Ark, TheThomas Crown Affair (old and new), Pan's Labyrinth, Six Feet Under, Mad Men, loved the one episode I saw of Rome, Prime Suspect series, Agatha Christie movies from the 60s and 70s, sucker for James Bond, Ronin, English Patient, The Fugitive and so many more. I also have a crazy Cold War family background that is straight out of a Russian novel. Hmmm, let's see...happily married, three kids, old house with ghosts, and that's about it.

I have owned two houses with ghosts!!!! So interesting. Never a dull moment. Remember, they were there first, right? I was lucky, in both cases. The two different spirits just wanted to live in the homes with us.
I prefer living in new homes.......I can tell you that.
