We all have to learn somewhere! Mines a tad different as well as I use an iPad & get both the app stuff & the reg stuff & things don't necessarily work the same in both. But these ppl are pretty cool & very patient! =D
In fact, Kristy, Mike, I have a how to question of my own. I enjoy the discussions w/ ppl on the threads, but I'm not a big fan of the games. If I feel like playing I kno where to find them. Is there anyway I can stop getting the game updates?
Hey everyone! My name is Adrienne and I'm 25 years old, originally from New Jersey, USA. I caught the travel bug while studying abroad during college, so after I graduated I decided to teach abroad (my degree is in Education so I'm all about teaching, woohoo) and I'm currently living and teaching in a beautiful coastal city in China! Through the thick and thin of culture shock, nothing has been more comforting than entering the world of a good book :).
I'm new to groups on Goodreads, so I'm really excited for a place to discover new books, meet new people, and discuss ideas and opinions. Literature has a fancy way of bringing people together and comforting us in the most desperate of times, so it's wonderful to see people who all share the passion of reading!
Nice to meet you all! :)

welcome Adrienne. how long have you been there? i can imagine the culture shock, and congrats on taking the path less traveled.
Kristy wrote: "I'm clueless on the mobile version. Help on aisle 1, please."I think most people are clueless on the mobile version because it's not very good...
Kristy wrote: "Glad it worked, Gina. And I promise no one will care if you make mistakes while trying to figure it all out. Ask questions if you need to, we are all a friendly bunch."This is true, but I would watch out for Dips. He can bite if he gets scared.

Thanks, Ty! I've been here nine months. It has definitely been a challenge and quite the culture shock as well, but I am learning and growing every day :) It's as much the life-changing experience as I hoped it would be.
Also, thanks for the welcome, Sean and DoodlePanda!
Hi,I'm Anne. I took early retirement from the Social Security Admin. a couple of years ago. I love to read, especially thrillers. But I'm also into old movies - God Bless TMC and AMC. I am a big Cubs fan, too - there's always next year. I have a new cat named Clyde. And I'm still recuperating from fracturing my hip in early March. I fell at home and landed just right on my right side. Thanks Sean for the invite.
Hello Adrienne! Welcome all the way from China! How exciting, a great life experience. Can imagine it must be a huge adjustment. Hope it's going well, and you've made some good friends. My eldest daughter wants to go into teaching and teach abroad. She's seventeen so we'll see.

I know it's some time away, but I know plenty of good resources and tips for teaching overseas, so if you or your daughter have any questions I'm more than happy to help! :D
Janet Sandhu wrote: "Hello Anne and welcome! Ouch! Hope the recovery process goes well. :)"Thanks, me too! =)
Welcome Anne, my pleasure, and I hope you enjoy it, lots of great people.
I love old films, I love my four cats, and I love "A Good Thriller"
Hope you recover quickly

Hi all,My name is Tracey and I am from Australia, will be unemployed in approximately 5 working days, then I am heading to America for travel and vacation time.
I love reading and am looking forward to hearing everyones thoughts on books and receiving recommendations, I love getting advice from others on what to read, I seem to go through authors so quickly that I am always on the look out for more.
Thanks
Welcome to Tracy, Adrienne, Anne, and Tracey!! I hope you all will enjoy our group and be prepared to max out your credit cards buying new books and bookshelves!! LOL!!
Welcome Adrienne - I have been bitten by the travel bug as well and REALLY badly. Therefore my red carpet welcome to you. They say "what you know depends on where you go, and where you go depends on what you know". Onwards and upwards mah lady!!!
Welcome Anne - Here's wishing you a speedy recovery. While you cant shake your hips, let us shake it for you to keep you entertained. For you, it will be free till we can get you to do the Coyote with us.
Welcome Tracey - Just remember to carry an extra suitcase as recommendations will make you fill that up with books. But since you are going to US, you are allowed extra luggage (2 pc concept) per head. Thus we will brazenly recommend books for you to pick up.
@Dipdedee - don't worry. We will see how it goes. And I imagine a pet tiger might make stalking tricky...
Nono, I'm not stalking Dips yet. Trying to figure out how to stalk with a pet tiger on the loose...I was stalking Mike (the paladin) for a while, but he is getting a little break now. I'm a nice stalker :)
Hi Adrienne, Anne, Tracey....and anyone I might have missed. Boy be out in the morning and things run away. Lots of his and stuff this morning!Anyway, welcome all.
Hey guys,
My name is Chris Swinney, I use the pen name of C. L. Swinney. I'm a narcotics and homicide detective in the San Francisco Bay Area and an author. My first novel, Gray Ghost, is crime fiction and police procedural based on what I see in a daily basis at work. It's made the Amazon Bestsellers list a few times for mystery, crime fiction, and police procedural in kindle, paperback, and hardcover. It's available on amazon, Barnes and Noble, audible, nook, iTunes, whatever format you prefer!
I'm also a big supporter of promoting (for free) fellow authors, and I'm pretty good at social media stuff. I created a group on goodreads called Social Media 101. There's over 200 people in the group and we share and help each other as much as possible and have great discussions posted.
I'll help anyone who needs it.
Thanks,
Chris

Welcome to the group Chris. Hope you have great fun in here.Note to self - Anything you say Dipanjan can and will be taken against me in a court of a law, I have the right to remain silent. (Nods head).
Cause there is a real policeman in the group O.oIronically I have never done anything criminal in my life.
Thanks for the invitation to join the group. I read all kinds of mysteries, thrillers, spy novels, etc. I just finished reading Linwood Barclay's BAD MOVE -- what fun! I really enjoyed his sense of humor coupled to suspense. I also write mysteries. I look forward to "talking" to all of you.
