There are just so many differences between writing screenplays and writing novels; to go from one to the other assistance would be key.
Hi Mujahid. Here's your "welcome to the family" url from my current YouTube Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEbEM...If you're new, Arathi, I apologize for not giving you your "Welcome to the family" URL sooner. Here's yours: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2ODf...
Hi, all. I'm Alex. I'm a twenty-year-old Canadian pessimist with a knack for writing things that disturb my friends and concern my family. Which is weird, because I write primarily in the speculative action genre. I do lean a bit into horror territory, but still, it seems that even my non-horror work raises a few eyebrows. Oh well.Anyway, I'm always trying to make myself busy with productive work like reading for review swaps, writing, or drawing. Unfortunately, I'm a master procrastinator, so it takes me a while to actually get anything done.
I've published seven works so far, and I have a good amount of short stories that would need to be edited first before I publish them. Also working on a novel and a couple novellas. I see a good handful of releases coming late this year and throughout next year. I'm always looking for constructive criticism and enjoy reading reviews that aren't even all that flattering if they have something I can work with.
I also break into rants sometimes and I can be very wordy. Sorry about that.
Alex: Re: Rants: Been there, done that, got the (bleeping) t-shirt. I do it too. Here's YOUR "Welcome to the Family" URL, Alex:
The Beach Boys: Shut Down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pYU0...
Welcome Alex: I tend to use my blog for rants. If you're in here, like Sean said, it's probably best we avoid politics and religion. So....what's your favorite breed of dog? Even though I love blac labs and Cavalier King Charles spaniels, the golden retriever will always be my favorite. Probably helps that I grew up down the street from some breeders of Goldies. I'll never forget their biggest dog, a golden retriever named Buffett. Never found out if he was named after Jimmy Buffett or not, but he was a really big and friendly dog.
Jason wrote: "Welcome Alex: I tend to use my blog for rants. If you're in here, like Sean said, it's probably best we avoid politics and religion. So....what's your favorite breed of dog? Hello everyone. My name is Douglas Barrow and I live in what was the small town of Katy, Texas just west of Houston. It's now one of the fastest growing towns in the country. I work in the engineering and construction industry as a mechanical designer laying out HVAC systems using Autodesk software.
I was not much of a reader for most of my life, just the odd science fiction book here and there. Then I picked up The Lions of Lucerne by Brad Thor. I was hooked. I've read all of his books and have now branched out to other authors. Vince Flynn, Brad Taylor, Ben Coes, Eric Meyer, Chuck Dixon and a few others on my want to list.
Thank you for inviting me to this group Sean. Hope to contribute some fun and useful bits of information for ya'll.

My stepson Rhett ran in the Katy Couples Run with Renee in 1981 and they won first place! He was 9 and she was 11 years old. We have their plaque with their photo on a bookshelf in the living room.

hi, I live in London with my husband and our dog (an Airedale, a real handful). Love cycling walking & watching tennis on TV. My first novel is due out soon (a thriller set around 7/7). I love all sorts of books inc. litfic but mostly read psychological suspense/drama/thrillers eg The Book of You. Nearly finished I Let You Go by Claire Macintosh. Often read on Kindle & iphone - audio books perfect for walking the dog.

Hi Sean thanks for the welcome. Tennis today - It was good to see Andy finally smile when he won - without too much trouble for about first time ever
Met Andy 3-4 times.
He is a very cheerful, great character. A boxing fan too like myself.
A great sense of humour.

Hi Everyone, Very excited to join this group, having joined as Goodreads author only a week or so ago. I pretty much knew this was the group for me when I scrolled down and saw discussion threads on tennis! I play every weekday morning, and think there is nothing better than to get the exercise done in the morning so you can enjoy writing and reading the rest of the day. Thanks for the guidance Sean. Look forward to contributing to discussions as soon as I get my bearings in this group.
I copied and pasted the above comment from my post to the authors section of this group about two weeks ago. I realized no-one was looking at that section since then. I hope I have done the right thing here? Anyway to add some info here, by way of introduction. I live in New York for most of the year. Try to get away to warmer places in Winter (where I can play tennis). I have had two mysteries/crime thrillers published (quite a while back) and always prefer reading to writing !!m
Hi, Joanna. Every new member of the group gets a "Welcome to the Family" URL from whichever one of my 5 or 6 YouTube playlists is running at the time I post.Right now, that means it's the Original Cantina Scene - A New Hope [1080p HD] (on Playlist #1): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6PDc...
Thank you so much for the welcome Paula, and for the song Amber. I love it and love the title "A New Hope" . That about sums up my writing life at the moment, coming back to writing fiction after about twenty years of being a lawyer.

But I have heard f writers writing an entire script first, then adapting that to a movie. The script for video games such as Assassins Creed were actually gaming scripts/boards first, and the books came much later.
