Hello everyone! Thanks to Sean for inviting me to the group - what a friendly group of people. My name is Sherry and I live in Winnipeg, Canada. I read a variety of books- classics, contemporary lit, cozies, steampunk, poetry, as well as mysteries. I love to see what others are reading and check out reviews. Hope to find more good books through this group.
Hello Sherry, your welcome
Yes some lovely, friendly people here.
Lots of great recommendations, and great threads.

You'll enjoy everything here, the books and discussions but most of all, the members who are all very friendly! Happy reading!

I will vouch that you will find some many new authors that you either come across or people will tell you to try.
HI Sean and everyone in this group! Thanks for the invitation to join, Sean! Good to see some familiar names in this group, too. I'm a readaholic from Derbyshire, England. I took early retirement from being a primary teacher and ICT consultant in August 2014 so am now catching up on reading novels instead of children's work! My daughter introduced me to Goodreads and NetGalley then got me to start blogging my reviews . . . I read a wide range of genre but try to avoid anything with explicit sexual content be that rape, abuse or erotica. I also read and review children's books. I'm a prolific reader. I think it is because I'm used to having to read, analyse and mark children's work so have got relatively quick at doing so. If anyone is sad enough to check my challenge, just remember quite a few of the books I've read are children's which take minutes to read!
One of my favourite authors is one I've discovered in the last year - Nick Pengelley. His Ayeesha Ryder books are, IMHO, brilliant. I'd love to see film versions of them!
i look forward to joining in with your friendly group and learning more authors and books to look out for!

I'm interested in that topic as well though haven't read many books yet.
I'm really impressed by your currently reading list.

Hi and welcome Elaine to A Good Thriller! Enjoy and happy reading!
Hello. My name is Jillian and I am pretty excited to be a part of this group. I am 29 and I live in Cedar Rapids , Iowa. I'd say please don't stalk me, but my life is so boring that it really wouldn't be any fun. I am heavily into video gaming, reading and geocaching. I am engaged to a pretty awesome guy who shares my video gaming and reading addictions and I'm pretty sure tolerates my geocaching though he says he "really likes it" This will be my very first book group via Goodreads. As mentioned above...pretty excited. Any tips let me know.
Have a great week. Peace out!
Hi Jilliank and welcome! I'm glad you picked our group as your first official Goodreads group! You'll see that the books, discussions and member are awesome! Happy reading and enjoy!
Welcome Jillian
We are always excited to invite new members

Very Excited to announce a new author member as well that I just invited yesterday, as I just finished her book "The Last Good Place" by Robin Burcell.
Ready for a Q & A and readalong early next year.

Hi guys. You can learn a lot about peole just by listening to their YouTube Playlist (or lists). This is currently playing on my 1st playlist: 13. The Crystal Chamber - Atlantis: The Lost Empire OST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tx78...
Hi! I'm Chelsea. Lover of all things mysterious and thrilling. Really excited to meet others who like reading this genre bc I don't know many readers anymore it seems!
Hi, Jillian, Celsea, and Aaron! Plus everyone else that I have missed! I hope you all have a wonderful time here. Take a look around, join in the discussion and do not be shy. We want to hear your thoughts and reviews. Take a look at Book Pals and think about joining the fun! It is a great way to get to know others in the group while taking down that TBR list that is always growing. Welcome, once again, and have fun!
Welcome Chelsea - you know most of us just read and perhaps that's ther reason :-)BTW: I love many of the books on your shelves :-)
Welcome back Aaron :-)
Got a question for you guys (and gals, of course): Does enjoying a song THIS old mean we're just a bunch of sappy old men and women: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9nE2... ?
This song was out about the time I was finishing high school...and I wasn't fond of it then.Enjoy what you like.
:)
Welcome Chelsea, to the group
Join in the posts and have fun
Aaron

The were pretty much part of what was called Bubble gum music. I'd faded away from pop and rock a lot by then anyway. Psychedelic was coming in and I still liked Rock and Roll, Doo Wop and that type music. I ended up listening to the country station more than the rock stations... And I was a senior in high school.
If anyone's interested I just started a thread under General where we can share unusual music we like.
Mike (the Paladin) wrote: "You like the Archies from '69/'70. I like this from '58.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoDCB..."
Added to Playlist #3.
Aaron: Good music is good music and generations be damned.
Sean: It was a valid question. LOL.
Hi everyone. Posted in the group a couple of times, but did't introduce myself.I'm Pia, living in Mexico City. I work as a free lance event planner and producer.
I work, cook, travel with mi family and read and read and read. I love doing online reading challenges and also have a RL book club which makes me open my reading horizons by proposing books I'd never read other way.
