I was glad she did show up though. I really liked Jessica. What a bad@$$! I think she and Will had great chemistry.

She was. I don't ever see a romantic relationship between her and Will, it seems more brother/sister, but someone who can understand the bad things that they do.

I think their chemistry is not necessarily sexual, but they have a rhythm together and understand each other very well. I really liked that about the story. She's a good counterpart for Will, and vice versa. I haven't decided if they will have a romantic relationship. I wouldn't rule it out. Though.

message 306: by Jane (new)

Jane (star_gazing_janey) | 41 comments Reading Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor and my "at work" read is Eternal Kiss of Darkness (Night Huntress World, #2) by Jeaniene Frost

message 307: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I just finished Sandman Slim (Sandman Slim, #1) by Richard Kadrey which I really liked. It's UF w/a kickass hero but no romance (at least not yet. it's the first book in a series)

I'm starting Safe Word by Teresa Mummert which I had been wanting to read & ended up winning a free copy of. (wahoo!!!)

yea it was, at the start you think its a bit silly what she kills herself over but then she explains how it has effected her as a whole.
if I was on that tape/if I was clay I would totally give it to the cops or something and hopefully get those people done for all the crap things they did.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) I attempted and failed to read Notorious Nineteen (Stephanie Plum, #19) by Janet Evanovich I just cant seem to get into it.
now im reading Ice Forged by Gail Z. Martin how wicked is the cover? anyways so far its not to bad, not great but im not dying of boredom

@Ashleigh, that does sound sad. :(

Alisa, I'm looking forward to reading Sandman Slim.

message 312: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Finished two more books. Personal Demons (Megan Chase, #1) by Stacia Kane - 3★'s, Superficial world building and characterization but the plot has potential and the climax and resolution are riveting.

And Grave Peril (The Dresden Files, #3) by Jim Butcher - 3.5★'s, preferred Fool Moon. This installment has some things that really irritated me. I finally understand why some reviewers criticize Harry for his chauvinism.

Now reading Midnight Crystal (Harmony, #7) (Arcane Society, #9) (dreamlight trilogy, #3) by Jayne Castle and listening to Third Grave Dead Ahead (Charley Davidson #3) by Darynda Jones

message 313: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I'm about half way through Hotter After Midnight (Midnight, #1) by Cynthia Eden This book is just meh for me. Definately not hot, maybe lukewarm. On the plus side the guy on the cover is hot.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) its taking me forever to read Ice Forged by Gail Z. Martin so I might put it down for a bit and get a head start on Where She Went (If I Stay, #2) by Gayle Forman before it has to go back to the library.

I'm reading Sealed with a Curse (Weird Girls, #1) by Cecy Robson , and it's pretty good. Lots of action and yummy guys. I like Celia and her sisters. At first I thought it would be too goofy, but I'm liking the humor.

Alisa I'm listening to Ten Tiny Breaths (Ten Tiny Breaths, #1) by K.A. Tucker It's not working for me on audio. It's going so slow. Think I'm going to head to the library & try to get the book. I've heard so many good things about it but I feel like I'm stuck in the middle.

I really liked that one. I read it versus listening to it, so don't know about that. If your library has it, I think that it would be worth checking it out.

I got to the "big shocker" part and couldn't stop. Was up most of the night finishing it. What a heart wrenching book. (I would have rather read it but still glad I finished it or I would have missed a great story)

I was a little shocked with the secret too. But then it made sense. I think this is one of those books that when/if you re-read you will notice more things.

Do you plan on reading the next one?

message 340: by Alisa (new)

Alisa @Darcy....right now I would say no but Ive heard the next one is better. For some reason this book just wrecked me emotionally. I cried off & on from "the incident" until the end. I don't like being all emotional over books which is why I usually stick to PNR & UF. I need some vampire smut to repair my mood. LOL

message 341: by Alisa (new)

Alisa @Darcy.......and you know it did cross my mind a few times what the secret was but then I would think "no that's too horrible to actually happen"

I actually didn't think the next book was as good.

Have you tried The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay ? If not, when you are looking for another type of this kind of book check it out.

message 343: by Alisa (new)

Alisa @Darcy...thx. I added that book to my tbr list. I would love like to see there be a third book about Cain, the strip club owner. His character has the potential to be a great story.

That would be good to see. I would love to know why he helps out downtrodden women.

Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) Recently finished Lord of Vengeance by Tina St. John (so good!) and just started Forever His (Stolen Brides, #1) by Shelly Thacker .

The first is historical and the second time travel; both take place in the middle ages. Some similarities to the storylines, but both have dangerous heroes! ☺
