♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) im reading H.I.V.E. Higher Institute of Villainous Education (H.I.V.E., #1) by Mark Walden its hilariously cliche. its about a top secret school to teach talented teens to be as evil as they can be.

Stephanie (stephaniemark) | 41 comments Bare It All (Love Undercover, #2; Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, #5) by Lori Foster . Pretty good so far.

I finished Resurrectionist and started Stormdancer. My library is so good, it's kind of evil. I have been checking out too many books and not reading the ones I own. But good news is I didn't have to buy all those great books I read from the library.

Darlene (darlenethequeen) | 3 comments Read about, bought, started and finished Real last night. Damn this board. I was up til 2am.

The comparisons to Kristen Ashley are in the right ballpark. Thinking about re-reading, but I was WRUNG OUT after I finished it..but maybe that was due to it being 2am.

Will be buying the next one(s) for sure.

message 261: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Finished Iron Kissed (Mercy Thompson, #3) by Patricia Briggs - it was a bit on the traumatic side.

Now listening to Magic Slays (Kate Daniels, #5) by Ilona Andrews and reading The Greyfriar (Vampire Empire, #1) by Clay Griffith

Stephanie (stephaniemark) | 41 comments Just finished Deadly Dance (A-Tac, #5) by Dee Davis . Yeah for Harrison finally getting his own book.
Now to Daring (A-Tac, #3.5) by Dee Davis an ATAC novella and Escape (Last Chance Series, 3.5) by Dee Davis a Last Chance Inc novella.

I really want to read Double Danger (A-Tac, #6) by Dee Davis but I have to wait for the interlibrary loan.

message 267: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I just finished Eternal Demon (Mark of the Vampire, #5) by Laura Wright which I loved. I'm a huge fan of this vampire series. I'm currently reading The Vampire Code by E.C. Adams which is like a legal thriller with a vampire defendent and a human lawyer. Original plot idea.

That's a good list of books, Megan. I've only read Dragon Actually, and I can vouch for it.

message 275: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Here are some of my recent reads:

Spider Sense (Kontra's Menagerie # 5) by Charlie Richards --I read this for a challenge about worst shifter books ever. I'm pretty sure this one will win me the game. The guy's a tarantula shifter. It was as creepy as it sounds. Ick.

Shattered Souls (Caitlyn O’Connell, #1) by Delilah Devlin Uf series. It was not bad.

Guilty Pleasures by Kitty Thomas I know this author gets a lot of praise but I thought this book was really bad. Nothing about this story worked for me.

Xander's Chance (Damian Eternal, #1) by Lizzy Ford Vampire novel that is a spin off of another series. I loved this book. Xander was something else.

Damian's Oracle (War of Gods, #1) by Lizzy Ford I liked this. It was the first book of the series that Xander came from. It was obviously the author's first book & there were some errors but her characters are likeable & the plot is unique. I'm going to keep reading the series because I know how much better she gets as the books go. Plus this was a freebie.

Behind the Tears (Behind the Lives, #2) by Marita A. Hansen I haved mixed feelings about this book. I went into it thinking it was a CR but it's not at all. It's more a social commentary maybe? I'm about half way though & it's ok. I think I was just thrown off because it was not at all what I was expecting &/or in the mood for. I'm gonna keep slowly reading it when the mood hits.

Buddy How a Rooster Made Me a Family Man by Brian McGrory this is a true story about a guy's pet rooster. Works for me cause I have pet chickens. :)

(cheshire_red) since i'v last posted i'v read After the First Death by Robert Cormier (which was ok but not great) Revolution Is Not a Dinner Party by Ying Chang Compestine ((which was better than after the first death) The Girl in the Steel Corset (Steampunk Chronicles, #1) by Kady Cross (which was great) The Obsidian Blade (The Klaatu Diskos, #1) by Pete Hautman (which was utter shit!)

Yes! I liked this one and Hell on Wheels (Black Knights, Inc., #1) by Julie Ann Walker the best. I knew I was going to like Rock I just didn't realized how much.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) stayed up super late last night reading Touch of Power (Healer #1) by Maria V. Snyder it was SOOOO good!! loved it!! (which I said like 30 times in my review, lol)

also thinking of starting Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher which is apparently really good.

message 294: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Finished Ice Storm (Ice, #4) by Anne Stuart - unfortunately, not as good as the earlier books. I didn't feel the love between Killian and Isobel.

I just finished The Hit (Will Robie, #2) by David Baldacci , and I loved it! Fantastic book!

Sorry you didn't enjoy Ice Storm, Lauren. I loved it! Maybe you'll like Fire and Ice more.

I liked that one too, but wished that Julie would have been more in the story.

message 299: by Cherrie (new)

Cherrie (self-describedkindleaddict) | 114 comments I'm reading Cry No More by Linda Howard. It's a good thing that reading isn't something you do while walking around because I'm swooning so much over Diaz that I wouldn't be able to remain standing up straight. I'm 70% through it and it has everything. Intrigue, suspense, grit, complex characters, a fantastically strong heroine, and a badass that's whimper-worthy.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) well I finished two books Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher which took me a bit to get into. and not as..... good (isn't the word im looking for...) as I excepted, do u get me?? though hearing Hannah's story though clay was incredible.
and Hostage by Karen Tayleur which was really good in a strange messed up way.
I ended up rating both books 3 stars.
if you read one I would recommend giving the other one a go.

someone told me that thirteen reasons why is best experienced through Audio, and though I haven't had that chance (yet) i would have to agree with them, just the way its written out I can just see how much more impact it would have on the... listener.
