Good morning, Team!!
Today is my 29th wedding anniversary so I thought I'd share a blast from the past!
Wow! That's awesome. Beautiful dress and beautiful picture. Congratulations to you and your husband!
Finished Enamored for review today, 175 pages. Will count for the SPRING mini challenge (Shoshanna Evers) but probably not the month long challenge!
Better than the first book I think, but didn't overly impress.
@ Vi - do you know roughly the current standings for the Captain's challenge? I've just finished a book (6pm) so not sure I'll get anything else in!
Oo wrote: "Do we go by the of 2013 figure to work out where we are ? How long do you think that the Round 1 Challenge will be before Round II starts? Will we be there in a few weeks, months etc? Thanks..."
Yes, Oo, as far as per cent, it is a way of seeing if a Team - and also each member - is on track as far as the number of books to which they have committed, to put it another way.
However, reaching 2,013 first is what wins the race.
We anticipate a winner within the next five to six days. We will see where everyone places. Round II should start shortly afterwards.

@Faith - I posted an update 2 days ago for the Captain's Challenge:Captains - 6947 pages
Team D - 13681 pages
I am working on updating the numbers now and should be able to give you a more up to date total in a little bit.
Thanks, everyone!! We are just having a quiet day together.@Oo - I agree with you about that series, though I petered out after #5 or 6. Can't remember. But I loved the first and second one.
I'm trying to finish my book before heading out to lunch.
I finished
.. 950 pages. I couldn't put it down so I stayed up to finish it. Loved it. I'm very glad I decided to continue the series. The book works for the Caprain's challenge, Spring Challenge and the monthly as well. (Amber's a mineral)
I'm off to bed. Have a great day, everyone!
Just Finished: Sea Scoundrel by Annette Blair 267 pages. Please add to Spring and Captain's Challenges. - "Sea" as one of the elements. ty

Happy Anniversary! You were a lovely bride.
Just finished
works for the spring mini Challenge and the Captain's challenge with 398 pages. Haven't heard whether or not it qualifies for the April Earth Challenge.Thank you, Chris! I was certainly skinnier!! And at least no big 80's hair. Though I've had to apologize to my bridesmaids for the dresses!
My sis was married around that time - I seem to remember a similar bridesmaid dress :-) p.s. My 70's dresses were much worse!
Finished
yesterday which counts for Captains challenge with 368 pages and Spring as author is Patricia Briggs.I don't know if it counts for April Earth challenge with Frost?
Leslie Happy Anniversary to you and your Husband.
Happy Anniversary, Leslie! Next year is a biggie...Finished
for Captains challenge with 360 pages, and Spring and April challenge with lightning in the sky.
Thanks, everyone! We just realized that in our 30th year of marriage, two of our kids are also getting married. Pretty crazy!!
Finished
367pgs captains challenge and Spring challenge as author name is Suzanne Wright. Will it work for the April challenge with the Moon in the sky?
Here's my update for the Captain's Challenge:1.
533 pages2.
604 pages3.
256 pagesI believe that all Truth and Warm Bodies count for the Spring Challenge also. :)
I'm just letting you all know that I'm still around, but between Camp Nano and getting my garden ready for this year's veggies, I've had a lot going on.Happy reading, everyone!
Current Team Standings:Team C - 1910 books
Team B - 1868 books
Team A - 1764 books
Team D - 1745 books
It looks like Team C will be hitting 2013 really soon. Please make sure you've checked your team shelf and everything is correct. While I was doing a quick check this morning I found about 12 books that could be added to our total. I've sent a few of you private messages.
Have a great day!
Finished classic 1970s science fiction novel
. Written by: Clifford D. Simak, so "S", counts for "Spring" challenge. I think it's too late for the Captain's Challenge (but if not, it was 219 pages)
Just finished Iron Bloom
. Free book for review. Rose is a 15 year old warrior that has high ideals. That knows right from wrong with a good heart. A must read.
Just started Tuesday's Child

Leslie wrote: "I think I have that one on my kindle, Melissa. Was it any good?"It was a recommendation to me from a "Secret Santa" with 2 other books. I wasn't able to get to it until now,lol
I really enjoyed it. It was my first by this author as well. I'll be looking forward to the next in this series. Loved the dynamics between Greta and Taryn - what a hoot!!
Trying to catch up with my April reads:
- April Challenge (water on cover) and Captain's challenge 384 pages
- Let's Celebrate . . . SPRING Mini Challenge (N in the title) and Captain's Challenge (378 pages)
- Captain's challenge (352 pages) and April Challenge (green in the cover)
Audiobook - April Challenge (fire on cover)and Let's Celebrate . . . SPRING Mini Challenge (S for author's last name -Sniegoski)
As a suggestion (and I don't even know if it can be done), but I loved the summary that Rebecca posted http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1... for the current challenges.Would it be possible to have this pinned or posted on page one so we can quickly see what the current challenges are. Loved that the challenge requirements and dates are right their in one place without having to hunt through the pages to find them. Just a thought perhaps for the second round????
Sherri - that's a great idea! I think for the second round we will be better organized so maybe before the team thread is released to the team the captains can steal a few spots on page 1 for holders.
Amanda wrote: "I'm just letting you all know that I'm still around, but between Camp Nano and getting my garden ready for this year's veggies, I've had a lot going on.Happy reading, everyone!"
So glad you are still around, Amanda! What kind of veggies? I want to grow cucumbers. I love them!
I will post winners of Spring Mini Challenge tomorrow!Great idea, Sherri! It did get very confusing.
@Melissa - okay, I'll be moving that book out of archive on my kindle.
Leslie wrote: "So glad you are still around, Amanda! What kind of veggies? I want to grow cucumbers. I love them!"I love cucumbers too, especially with a lot of lime juice and salt.
We grow tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, bell peppers, hot peppers, eggplant, zucchini, yellow crookneck, radishes, leeks, chard, cantaloupe, watermelon, butternut, and green beans. Oh, and lettuce.
Yep, we love our veggie garden. 8)
Current Team StandingsTeam C - 1921 books
Team B - 1873 books
Team A - 1776 books
Team D - 1759 books
We are so close to Team A!! I have gone through everyone's books one last time. There are still about 12 books out there to be added. Please be sure to check your messages.
I have also verified all the ebooks and it looks like we are in the clear! Great job everyone. I'll check in again tomorrow morning.
Don't forget to sign up for Tower Teams 2013-Round II
I'm sure we still have a few days left but I wanted to say that I had a lot of fun with everyone this Round. My to-be-read shelf hasn't been too happy but I can say that I read some books I probably never would have picked up if I didn't keep seeing them on your shelves and for that, I thank you!
I will post the result of the Captain's Challenge tomorrow. Looking through 1800 books can be exhausting. :)
You are off duty, Rebecca! Go enjoy a Margarita and put your feet up. Great job, Captain!![image error]
The Captains vs. Team D Results

Current Team StandingsTeam C - 1969 books
Team B - 1875 books
Team A - 1778 books
Team D - 1769 books
Have a great day everyone! Today is my travel day for my work 4-5 hours of audio book time for my "commute". I'm hoping to finish up at least 1 book, if not 2 today.
Current Stats:
Team Books Read/Goal* % of Goal % of 2,013
Team A 1827/6409 = 28.5% 90.7%
Team B 1925/6385 = 30.1% 95.6%
Team C 2004/6321 = 31.7% 99.5%
Team D 1773/6378 = 27.7% 88.0%
Goal totals adjusted, subtracting people who never signed up, or never posted a book.
If your Team is on track, it would be at 27.1% of Goal as of today.
Rebecca, the discrepancy in our totals are because I went in an clicked on each an every members' challenge hyperlink, then did the update...for all Teams.
Hey Team! I was having trouble with my display name so I changed it to my last name instead. Apparently Katie is a very popular name and it was confusing me inside groups when I clicked on a Katie to get to my challenges and would wind up somewhere else. I hope this is okay that I switched, I used to be listed as Katie (Jaye) but now I'm listed as Reed (what people call me anyway). I hope this doesn't mess up any totals or what not, if it does let me know and I'll change it back until Round II.
