@Lisa Kay - I marked the book as "read" using my app on my tablet. I see it in my list of books for this challenge. Not sure what else to check."

Thanks, Leslie! I appreciate it. I'm looking for it to appear here , on your "view books" page for the challenge. And it does! Yay!

Now, you just have to educated everyone else - on all four Teams - that is using that media as to how you did it. LOL! (view spoiler)

I'm not sure what I did that was so special. Seemed pretty straightforward!

Rhonda | 550 comments I finished Just After Sunset by Stephen King today. There were 367 pages for the Captain's challenge. Sunset in the title works for the Earth Day challenge. Sunset in the title is good for the S P R I N G challenge.

Happy Reading everyone!

I guess I'll have to try it on my iPod/Touch.

Question. Did you already have the book on your bookshelf and you just indicated it was read? Or did you start from scratch?

Just finished Darkness on a Pale Blue Stone Darkness on a Pale Blue Stone by D.T. Peterson Free book for review. An interesting concept on what the future holds for the human race. As well as future races so to speak. A must read.

Captain Challenge: 254 pages.
Spring mini Challenge: The S in Stone in title.
April; Monthly Challenge: Picture on Cover is of Earth)Enlarge cover of book to get a better picture.

Just started Becoming Red Becoming Red (The Becoming, #1) by Jess Raven .

message 1606: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments When I mark a book as "currently reading" I go ahead and put it on my Team D shelf. So, yes it was already on the shelf. I clicked on the book and then clicked on Status Update. Then clicked on "I'm finished".
I will try again with the book I'm reading now. I took it off the shelf. We'll see what happens!

message 1607: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Leslie wrote: "When I mark a book as "currently reading" I go ahead and put it on my Team D shelf."

So, when you put it on your "currently reading" shelf, you did that on your home computer - not you tablet?

message 1608: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Yes, that was done on my home computer. So for the experiment I should do it all on my app. I will do that with the next book.

message 1609: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments Deeded, as long as you finish it in April, it counts :)

Leana (Flickering Fandom) (flickeringfandom) | 264 comments Kristin wrote: "@ Faith - how did you like Mila 2.0?"

I really enjoyed it actually, more than I expected to. It was a little slow to get into at first, but I think I read the whole second half in one sitting!

message 1611: by Leana (new)

Leana (Flickering Fandom) (flickeringfandom) | 264 comments I finished Bonds of Need (Wicked Play, #2) by Lynda Aicher last night but there is no page count listed. Not sure what to do next in order to make it count for the word count competition! Amazon says it has 212 pages and it's 85000 words if that helps?

Assuming we can find a way to prove it has a valid page count, it'll also count for the Spring mini challenge with the word Need.

message 1612: by Rebecca NJ (new)

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments Faith - as a general rule of thumb which was established at the beginning of the challenge I've been taking the word count divided by 250 to get the page numbers. Bonds of Need would have approximately 340 pages.

message 1613: by Marla (new)

Marla | 1803 comments Finished Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin and I thought it was an interesting premise and completely different from anything I've read in a long while.

Counts for 277 pages for the Captains Challenge
and toward the April Challenge too.

Welcome Oo!! Let us know if you have any questions. We do have some small mini challenges going on.

1. April Monthly Challenge: This challenge runs from April 1 to April 27 and is to read a book with one of the 5 elements (Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Space/Sky) or cover with green/blue colors.

2. Let's Celebrate . . . SPRING Mini Challenge: This challenge runs from April 3 to April 7 and includes any book in which the words in the title, series title or Author's name begins with any letter in the word Spring.

3. Captain's Challenge This is a mini challenge between the Captains and Team D which run from March 28 to April 7.

These are all optional. These books can be started anytime but need to be finished between the dates for each challenge. All you need to do is post your book here and state which mini challenge(s) it works for. You will need to include the page numbers for the Captain's Challenge.

Happy Reading!

I second that...it's hard to keep track of what is currently going on.

message 1616: by Rebecca NJ (new)

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments I posted the overall standings yesterday and Team D was in 4th place. I will be updating this weekend.

As far as the mini challenges, Vi, Leslie and I each track those. I haven't run any numbers recently for the Captains Challenge and will do so later today.

message 1617: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Hello, Oo! Welcome to Team D!! This is a great group of readers and I know you will have fun. Can't wait to see what you are reading!

And yes, thanks Rebecca for posting a list of what's going on! The beginning of April has been very busy!!

message 1618: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3793 comments Just finished The Patron Saint of Liars by Ann Patchett

This should count for the April monthly challenge, the Spring mini challenge, and the Captains challenge with 352 paages.

message 1619: by ❉⊰Gayle⊱❉ (new)

❉⊰Gayle⊱❉ (ziastar) | 67 comments Finished The Witness by Nora Roberts . This should count on all 3 challenges....I hope. Green/blue cover. Author's name begins in N and R both in the word Spring. 499 pages according to Amazon.

message 1620: by Rebecca NJ (new)

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments Oo, you can count any book started after January 1 that is greater than 170 pages for the overall Team D challenge. In glancing at your "read" shelf, The Book Thief, Adrenaline, The Shadow of the Wind are a few that could work.

The mini challenges are little motivators we came up with to keep us reading.

Does that make sense?

Works for the Mini Challenge - letter R in Author's name and Captain's Challenge with 376 pages. I don't think it works for the April Challenge.

LK - I marked it on my tower Team D shelf using my android app and I marked it as "read".

Vi | 1758 comments Welcome Oo! Hope you have fun with us.

I finished Ruthless (The House of Rohan, #1) by Anne Stuart - 409 pages. Will work for the Captain's challenge only. This was a really good book. The female MC was good but I'll hope for more ambiguity. It was a little bit cliche romance but I really liked it.

Also finished Me Before You by Jojo Moyes - 482 pages. Again, only for captain's challenge. Loved this book. One of my top favourites for this year. Tackled a few issues that aren't generally seen. Highly recommended :)

Leana (Flickering Fandom) (flickeringfandom) | 264 comments Finished Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse #12) by Charlaine Harris last night, 336 pages.

Doesn't count for the month long challenge but should count for the Spring Challenge with the series title (Sookie Stackhouse or Southern Vampire Mysteries).
Pleasantly surprised - last few books have been disappointing, I thought this was an improvement.

Demonglass (Hex Hall, #2) by Rachel Hawkins . This fits the Captain's Challenge - 359 pages. The bottom half of the book is also "fire" which should fit the April Monthly Challenge.

Look Again by Lisa Scottoline . This fits the Captain's Challenge - 373 pages. The book is also predominately blue which fits the April Monthly Challenge.

Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley and Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon I don't think I will have it finished by tomorrow night, but it will count for the Earth Challenge ( Amber is a mineral). Maybe Rock Chick will count for that as well - can I get a ruling?
