I've read 79 out of 159. Some of those I read so long ago that I haven't even marked them as read on GoodReads, because I need to reread them, but I did read them once upon a time. And just about all of the rest are on my TBR list. I'm working on it!

Thanks! I actually found it really interesting because I definitely h..."
Our group has a way of encouraging and expanding our reading! That's why this group is awesome! :)
I have read 31 books, noting I didn't finish Don Quixote and Watership Down. That was helpful too, as I noticed one classic I had marked as read (which was incorrect) and another I hadn't marked as read. :)

Great way to view things and so true! Plus, some of us have had more reading mileage under our belt, so to speak.
In my opinion, one should never view reading as a contest, as that would only serve to take some of the pleasure out of the experience.

I think when I last posted here two months ago I had read 40. I'm up to 56 right now and feeling like a champ.

Wow Paula, you really are flying through our bookshelf! At this rate you'll be half done by Christmas!
Impressive! Good to hear you're enjoying yourself :)
Well, it was a slow month. I read only one book on the bookshelf. The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.

Currently at 127/162
I have read 121/162, and several marked "want to read." Mansfield Park and Tender is the Night are on my list for November so, will keep reading!

Granted, I had read only a few of these at this point last year and made a concerted effort. I still have a long way to go, but it is proving to be an excellent journey!

Thanks, Paula! 63 is great too, and isn't it fun?!
I have no idea of your age, and I'm not exactly 1000 yrs old -- but I've been working on this for about 45 years!!! So, all I can say is:
Just Keep Reading and enjoy it as you go :)
Bruce wrote: "I've read 25 that I have recorded on Goodreads. This list is a great motivator!"That's the best thing about this group for me Bruce, the motivation to read, read, read!!! :)
Oh dear I've only read 10 (and currently reading one more). Hopefully I'll be able to increase that number next year!
Alkmini wrote: "I 've only read 23/165... Hope I 'll read more now that I joined this group!"You will Alkmini, don't worry! And by the way, great number of reads! :)

Well done on another book crossed off the list!
In my last post I was at 32 out of 159 two months ago and I said that my goal was to reach 25% by the end of the year and I did it! I'm at 42 of 165. I'm taking December off from reading classics unless I sneak in an audio book or two. I want to read some books I got last Christmas before this Christmas gets here.
107 already! Missed the round number coming up. Probably because the group chose to read books I've already read. There are still several books on the shelf which I have not the least intention of reading (like Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, no thanks), but otherwise lots of inspiration still! Some of my to-reads from the group shelf feel already like old friends despite the fact that I haven't gotten to them yet.
As of 1/1/17, I have read 54 of 168 books (32%). At the start of last year my numbers were 34 of 130 books (26%). This is definitely an improvement if ever so slight. ;-)
