34, excluding all the Jane Austen which I've mashed together in my head and possibly including Portrait of a Lady which I'm currently reading. Well, which I WAS reading before I got caught up in a tidal wave of spy novels and middle school series. It happens.:-) Peace! Julia

Haha! So true :) Peace!

I had a chance to update my list in the "Catching Up Challenge" thread. With June 2014's titles added, we're currently at 86 books on the bookshelf. Of those 86 titles:
• I have read 30 titles ...
• ...including 6 abridged versions
• I will be at 34 titles, when done with the 4 I'm currently reading (not including W&P)
• I'm at 41 when you count 7 titles I think I read but really can't recall for sure
• ... and at 45 when you count the 4 titles I started and dnf'd
I'll stick with the 30 down (counting the 6 abridged versions) :D
I've read 21 books from the read shelf, but if you count in the currently-reading and to-read shelves, I've read 25 books (all the upcoming June books and To Kill a Mocking Bird).
Last April I was at 45/84. This April (today) I am at 66/105. In the same year I have read 21 book from the bookshelf the group has added 21. I think I am on the hamster wheel and not going anywhere fast.
That's a coincidence Bob, 21 is great for the past year! I'm definitely running behind on my hamster wheel.
I'm up to 71 read.I was at 41 and two halves this time last year, so I've added 28 and two halves.
But to be fair, probably about half of that count stems from the group selecting books that I've already read. I only re-read one of the halves.
I'm up to 38 out of 105, not counting a few books that I did not finish. Last April I was at 9 of 84, so that's 29 read in the past year. I'm satisfied with that progress.
I am at 55 of a current 105 so not too bad. This is the first time I've checked so I will be interested to see how I compare a year from now. I am currently reading one on the list and should get to several more this year.
Last May I had read 21 books from the group's bookshelf. Now I've finished 33 books out of 105 and I'm currently reading three more books from the shelf. That's quite a nice progress, mainly because I haven't read that many classics for years. And I still have many of the books in group's bookshelf in my to-read list, so numbers will get bigger eventually.
Sadly, I have only read 4 of them. I'm aiming to read all of them, though, because I own most of them. :)
Thanks Pink. I read 100+ books a year so they add up quickly. I can't seem to get over the hump on Hitchhikers Guide and Catch 22. And Rob Roy and Clockwork Orange may never make it.

Thanks Andrea.
Duane wrote: "Thanks Pink. I read 100+ books a year so they add up quickly. I can't seem to get over the hump on Hitchhikers Guide and Catch 22. I read Hitchhikers guide as a teen, but don't think I'd like it now. I've never attempted Rob Roy and probably never will. Clockwork Orange and especially Catch 22 were great reads, the latter being an all time favourite, you just have to push past the initial part of the book until things start to make sense.
I believe I've read about 45 of those listed, however my memory is pretty foggy on a few of those. I'm definitely looking forward to re-reading the ones I remember nothing about! And, of course, diving into the ones I haven't had a chance to get into yet.
12 for sure. Some of them I don't have great documentation on when I read them other than it was in the past 5 years.I'm 99% sure I read TKaM in school (different country), and I *think* I read Treasure Island as a kid (kid version?) so possibly 14.
I don't really have a bookshelf ^^! But my dad has so many books, probably around 800 books (wild guess, haven't counted them), and a lot of them are classics :-). A quick count in my head says I've only read 16 of them and three other classics (working on the fourth ) that aren't his :/... I've got a lot to do I'd say ^_^
Just realized we're talking about the bookshelf in the group, I guess I'm tired XD! I need to check the groups bookshelf tomorrow instead :-D
I curently have 19, but I read some of those so long ago I can barely remember what they were about. At least I have most of other books in my to read list :)
52 and heart of darkness but not the secret sharer. Update: now at 69/139 and did read the secret sharer, it was pretty good.
Having just finished The Age of Innocence, my count is currently 37 read, 36 tbr. So half of the ones I want to read, not too bad, but not great either :)
45. Though some of them I read as a child, and some of those I can barely remember beyond the knowledge that I have, in fact, read them.
I finished my 100th book last week. When the polls close and the winning books get added to the bookshelves, I'll be at 101/139, which is up 30 from April of last year.
But I've really been slacking off in this group in the past year, so less than 10 of those have been new reads/rereads. The majority comes from the group selecting books that I've already read.
Jack wrote: "I have read only 29. Sadness."Don't feel badly - I've only got 30 under my belt. It seems we have a lot more room for fun and improvement then our other "more well read" group members. ;-)
Julie wrote: "33/84well I just joined here, so definately plan to read a lot of the books on the list, most of them are on my TBR-list anyway :-)"
Almost two years later I'm at 108/138 - so I must say I'm very satisfied with my 'classics progress'

At this moment it's 61/135 + 1 currently reading (Jamaica Inn). I think I will get over 70 this year, because I have so many books from the shelf included in my challenges this year and also whatever gets chosen from the polls will affect the number as well. But pretty good job from myself, I must say, I actually didn't think this would be possible at all.

I was just coming to suggest that maybe someone could make a listopia list where everyone could vote for the books they have read. And the link could be added to the group description, too.
Well I made one:https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/9...
Someone who writes better English might want to add a description and stuff. And everyone should add books that they (and the group) have read.
