I'm currently reading The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers.
As a recommendation to anyone who reads this 'introduction', I recommend the novella "1922" from "Full Dark No Stars". Killer story.....

I'm with you Justice. I've read lots of writers, Sometimes it's a struggle. But King's work is always so simple, clean, clear, almost comforting in that way. When you pick up each book you know you're going to make some wonderful friends, and share some great adventures.

"Fiction is the truth inside the lie, and the truth of this fiction is simple enough: The Magic Exists" Stephen King=+=

Hi Holly, welcome. Be sure and read Joyland if you haven't. Also take a look at the books by King's son, Joe Hill. NOS4A2 is really great. Ocean at the End of The Lane is kind of a YA/adult book, that I like anyway. If you're looking for literary style try Love In The Time Of Cholera, (which I'm reading now and loving) or even The Tiger's Wife.

I have been reading Stephen King's books right from the start with Carrie - wow I just dated myself! I still remember picking it up and thinking, Oh this sounds different, guess I will try it. Been addicted to his books ever since.

Hey Dodo, welcome. If you're liking Turn of the Screw you might like What Alice Knew which is about how Henry James and his brother and sister solved the case of Jack the Ripper.

Hey Quint, welcome. Lots of good discussion here. Like to hear about your most favorite and least favorite works of King.

Aside king books I also enjoy my other hobby which is exotic pets. I currently have snakes and spiders ^_^

Hi Andrew. It is one of my all time favs. I still haven't read the Dark Tower series. I hope it's as good as the Stand. I've read that King described it to be his magnum opus. I can believe that.

2 corns a boa and a python and a variety of tarantulas :) it'd take ages to list species though xD

Well, I actually do have a few poems posted on my website for Reading in the meantime. My website is www.wordsunderconstruction.com. I haven't read it yet but when I start I'll let you know. :)

Thank You for the welcome.Right now I'm reading 11/22/63.Almost done with it and it's really interesting. It really makes you think how different things would be but don't want to give away to much.I look forward to talking to you more.

Hi Ken I also want to mention that I'm currently writing a book myself and this website is helping me do that I would love to have you or anyone read at least the chapters that are done.I'ts a true story but very interesting and sad.It may not be something your interested in but maybe worth a look.
Thank You very much

Very Strong Stuff!! I especially liked, Reckless Endangerment, Labels and Words, (With your reference to Carrie) The Darkest Enemy, and of course, The Writer's Escape. Very nice images there.

Hey Steff, welcome. What do you like about Buick 8... have to confess it wasn't one of my favorites.

Favorites so far: It, Dark Tower 1+2 (I'm at 6 now) I liked the Mist and the Mangler as well.
Least favorites so far: Cujo, Dark Tower 4
Anyway, I hope to get to know some of you better and I'll be around to discuss some books, especially the monthly books since that is helping me to read more. I also hope to learn from you guys in the discussions.
