This looks like a great group and I would be honored if anyone sent me a friend request so I can see what like minds like. A friend of King is a friend of mine :)
Jim

I had the feeling that the writing was particularly attractive in The Running Man, which he actually wrote before he published his first book (like most Bachman books). It makes me want to dig more into the early works.

A warm welcome to all new comers!!:)

Hi newcomers! Pleasure to have you in the group.:)

When people ask what my favourite book by him is I could potentially write an essay length answer, rambling on about the good points of almost every one I've read. But I think the short answer is The Stand (Dayna Jurgens is my idol).
My current King challenge is finishing The Dark Tower series, but the next book I'm going to read will be Different Seasons (you gotta have a break right..? Maybe I'm just terrible at reading series').
In terms of other reading, at the moment I'm on a non-fiction kick (I'm always reading more than 3 books at a time it's bad I know) but I generally just read things people recommend me. I suppose science fiction and books that can make me cry would be my favourite "genres".
I'm excited about joining this group, I'd love to talk about Stephen King with people any time!

I'm currently re-reading the DT series. I've been lucky enough to have "grown up" reading King. Reading an old King book is like visiting an old friend. Enjoy and I look forward to your insights.

Welcome Mary.Visiting the Stanley Hotel is high up on my bucket list. I'm so jealous!

Welcome, Aaron. Looking forward to your comments as we go along. Please join in with your opinions on all the books. We don't all agree on everything. That's what makes it interesting. But I'm sure everyone thinks that Misery is a great one.

Hi, Aloy. Let's here some thoughts on all our discussions. Bag of Bones? Christine? Dreamcatcher? Salam's Lot? Duma Key?

I think I've reviewed all three of them on Goodreads. Gave them all 5 stars.

I'm new to Goodreads and still finding my way around!

Hi Peter,
I think I saw another one called 20th Century Ghosts at the library. I just started Heart Shaped Box..."
He's also written one with his dad

Hi Gail! Welcome! :) I haven't read either of those yet. Salem's Lot will be my next King read. I can't believe I didn't read it years ago but I'm excited to start now.

Hello Kirstin, Thanks for the Reply. I have read THROTTLE in the Graphic Novel (COMIC), I enjoyed it. In my opinion NOS4A2 was Joe Hill's Best. Keep me in mind, Thanks. PAO.

I have had a goodreads account for a few years now, but I was never that active until the last few months. Finally decided to look into groups, and of course the Stephen King Fans group was a must! I've been reading SK since I was 9 and he has always been one of my favorite authors - I've read all of his books. This looks like a great group and I look forward to a lot of enjoyable conversations. Thanks!

Thanks Kirstin - there are many that I haven't read yet, which is great because I've so much to look forward to!

Thank you Malina, I think I will get lots of enjoyment out of this group!

I think my love of Stephen king started when I was incredibly young I think I watched the movie It! When I was 5 or 6 and then later saw Rosered at the age of like 9, when it premiered on TV, it instantly became a favorite of mine! I think from then on I made it my mission to watch any movies/miniseries based in Stephen Kings works.
Somewhere along the way I started purchasing his books from a lady at the flea market and have been in book heaven ever since. My too be read pile is so large(filled with books of all genres and authors) it's hard to figure out what I want to read next sometimes, hopefully being apart of this group and having a monthly read will make that easier, and give me people to discuss the books I read with.
Wow I type almost as much as I talk, sorry, but thanks for having me,

I'm Jasmine from Croatia. King is my favourite writer since I read It, when I was about 14 years old. Now I'm finishing 'Salem's Lot and I absolutely love it. ;)
