Thanks. You're reading in spanish or english?

ME TOO! I got the Pimsler spanish lessons and went through them before our last trip down to Mexico. And, even though one of the local cabbies complimented me on my pronunciation, I couldn't keep up with the fast paced lingo of the locals. Still, I thought it was worth the effort, and I'll probably go through the course again before my next visit.

Besides, spanish is not that hard to learn!

Just finished Mr Mercedes,I loved it,very noir...

Aloha Tom, always good to see another east Tennessean in the mix.

I am Sandy and I joined goodreads yesterday! My fluency maybe doesnt make me understood sometimes, but im from greece and i promise i will make anything to improve it.
The first thing i was searching when i joined the site, was a group with stephen king`s fans.I am one of them too and i can discuss about his books for hours!
I think its the same love that makes us one, first the love for books in general and then, the love for stephen king...
Happy reading days!!

Im happy to be part of Kings community.
i wish u long days and pleasant nights...

Green Mile is the first book of Stepehen King that I've read and I was really moved by the story and how he describe things on his novel. I think he is the first author I admired. I thought that I've read most of his works but when I checked Goodreads there's a lot of novels I need to read and re-read.
Hope everyone is having a great day! Happy reading!

My favourites have to be IT, The Stand, The Long Walk and The Dark Tower, of course.
I've just finished Mr Mercedes and I'm looking forward to the new release later this year. We've been very spoilt the past few years with so many new stories!
Looking forward to discussing King with fellow Constant Readers :)

Welcome to the club, Lauren!...:)

I'm a big fan of King's older novels, but do feel that Doctor Sleep was definitely underwhelming, but I liked Mr. Mercedes (and am keenly looking forward to Finders Keepers) as well.
Looking forward to getting some great insights from folks here on various King books. :)

I always envy those of you reading his works for the first time without having to wait six months between releases. Happy reading and welcome!

Thanks Kandice

I think Stephen King is a fantastic writer and his books are some of the best that I have ever read. I have decided this after only finishing 12 of his books (currently on the 13th) but my point still stands. Having decided to try a SK book due to his sons (Joe Hill) books being amazing, I feel very blessed and lucky that I took a chance.
Now back to Different Seasons and the very entertaining and disturbing Apt Pupil :)

Nick, how exciting to be new to King, there is so much to look forward to...
Joe Hill is pretty amazing as well

My daughter (she's 7) has already been bitten by the King bug. She sees me reading this series and begs for details. She loved Eyes of the Dragon also. She has already started making her Christmas list and one of her top 5 is 'to have momma read Mr. King to her in October with only a flashlight'. ;). She loves scary stories.

That's great Troop! My daughter(8) is the same. I haven't read Eyes of the Dragon with her yet but I bought it to do just that. Welcome!
Welcome to all new comers! Hi! :)

Hi Bob, if you're into compelling 'can't put it down' reads I advise you check out Prince of Thorns. This is a fantastically frantic paced read with a somewhat different lead character. Cannot recommend it enough! Enjoy!

Joe Hill is indeed amazing. Would go as far as saying that his N0S4A2 is up there with my favourite King book so far, It.
My next SK will the The Talisman/Black House combo, which I am sure I will thoroughly enjoy.
Glad to be a part of this group and be able to talk books.

The last book I read of his was The Dead Zone and I'm not sure which I want to read next. It would be impossible to pick my favorite book out of all of them.

I would highly recommend Hill as well! Hill's style of writing is go..."
I agree! Heart Shaped Box was my favorite but I've read NOS4A2 and Horns as well.

I'm fairly new to reading King, my first was in June of this year.
My favorites so far: 11/22/63, The Stand and The Running Man (I'm sure there will be many more.)
Mr. Mercedes, Joyland, and Desperation were a lot of fun as well.
Just getting started on The Regulators now.
I spent a weekend in Bangor this summer and got a chance to do the Stephen King tour which was a lot of fun and very informative. The guide / proprietor was quite passionate and that was a bit contagious. We'll definitely be going again in the future.
I'd also just recently heard about the collaborative musical Ghost Brothers of Darkland County. My wife is a HUGE musical fan so this will be a win win.
Anyway enough rambling.

I'm Natalie and I started my adventure with Mr. King earlier this year. I'm trying to read everything chronologically, started from Carrie and I'm currently on The Talisman.
I'm glad I found this group, I would love to discuss all the books I read.
Currently residing in the beautiful Oxford, England.

I can't say I read Carrie as soon as it was written, but soon enough that I have been able to read his books in order as they were published (or almost) and it makes me wonder how he seems to "new" King fans. We've watched him change gradually over decades. If they are quick readers, they can see his metamorphosis in a year or so.
BTW...welcome!
