Sometimes, I don't mind it. With writing, if your creative compass is off, you edit, that is, if your reasoning skills are operating at full capacity, & then, there's the promoting. The easiest because it is less brain work.
Reading to groups in book shops that is edgy seat-of-your-pants, sometimes, being a performer.
So much to do, got to have a lot of gears.

I have a novel, Celtic Blood

Welcome Stephanie - glad you're here. We all want to hear what you think of Dr. Sleep.

I definitely will!
Hi!
I love this page! He's my all time favorite writer. If you like his stories and horror, thriller or fantasy or syfy books then you will like this group "For The Love Of Horror" that I made. Please come over and join the group! We offer authors the chance of submitting their own books to be read along with many other things. So I hope to see you all there!

I am currently on the final Dark Tower novel, but I would say my favorite King books are: The Stand, The Long Walk & 'Salem's Lot.

Dave, Welcome. Glad to have you here. Because you and I and so many others are fans of The Long Walk I googled it and Wickipedia says that King claims that it's the first novel he ever wrote, started it 8 years before Kerrie when he was at the University of Maine. I wonder if he knows how demoralizing it is for other writers to know that.

So, Faris, I'm pretty much alone, I'm afraid, in thinking that Wizard and Glass is one of King's best. If you've made it through the dark tower twice; so I have to ask you, am I nuts, misguided, or close to right?

I guess there's a lesson here for writers and maybe you've summed it up best, if you've got a good story going, devoting a lot of time to a backstory that is way off the point is a mistake. Unfortunately, I just made that mistake... so live and learn I guess.

The Stand is my all time favorite King book.
Wow you are lucky to have met him and have signed books, I'm jealous!

Only been on Goodreads for a few months but already addicted! Been a huge fan of Stephen King since I was younger, recently read 11/22/63 which proves he's still got it!
I think Doctor Sleep is on the reading list this Christmas!

Stacie

I'm Justin. Married. Three young, crazy kids so I squeeze in reading time late at night. I like a lot of King's early stuff, but I have been less enthusiastic about some of his newer books
Love The Shining, The Stand, and Pet Semetary I started The Dark Tower series a while ago and plan to start over soon.
I've been on Goodreads for while, but just discovered groups. I was excited to see this one and look forward to reading along with everyone

I'm currently a veterinary student, so I rarely have time for leisurely reading, but I'm in the middle of 'Salem's Lot at the present and look forward to finishing it over our winter break!

I'm Luisa and I just joined GoodReads today. I'm currently re-reading "Pet Sematary" after having read "Doctor Sleep" and I thought it was only natural to join a "Stephen King Fans" group. I think King's first book I ever read was "The Shining", after watching Kubrick's adaptation on TV. Anyway, I'm 23 years old and I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Andrew, The Stand is my all time favorite book, hope you enjoy it :)

I am Mike.A big fan of Stev-e-King work. The Dead Zone made me an admiror and since then I read about one half of his books. His style of writing is incredible and the King continues to amaze me every day when Im reading his masterpieces...Im really happy I found this group tonight and look forward to discuss with everyone all kind of topics
Hi all,
I am a huge SK fan and have been reading his books since a friend loaned my 'Carrie' back in 1982....
I enjoy reading all of his stories especially 'The Stand', 'IT', 'Misery', '11.22.63' .... I could go on & on

I also have the goal of reading all of his works. I think I am probably only halfway there haha. I do enjoy different authors and genres (I love The Game of Thrones series). Some of my other favorite SK Books are The Eyes of the Dragon, Under the Dome, 11/22/63, Salem's Lot, and The Stand.

I started with Pet Semetary when I was a kid and have read pretty much everything since - and own most of the hardcovers. My favorite series is The Dark Tower and I'll go back an re-read the series occasionally. I just re-read The Shining so I could then read Dr Sleep.
