Task: 20.4 - Author!Author! - Janice CA's Task: Renaissance Authors

Read a fiction or non-fiction book written by someone who you admire for their contributions outside the literary field.

Generation of Swine: Tales of Shame and Degradation in the '80's by Hunter S. Thompson

Hunter S. Thomas was not only an author, but as a journalist he changed the face of conventional journalism by putting himself in the story, with witty, unique & shockingly accurate observations about writing, news & feeding the beast, so to speak. His writing, both fiction and non-fiction, especially on politics, changed the way I see my job as a journalist. It's hard to overlook how his writing impacted policits. His contributions in the literary field also inspired movies & documentaries. He's a true "renaissance man".
