Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Dee wrote: "I almost feel bad for Daffodil having to brave my shelves for the second month in a row ;)"

That's okay, I enjoy browsing through other people's shelves. My main problem is my only internet access through the week is at work. So unless we're slow, which we weren't this week, I'm a Hit & Run poster. Unfortunately, that means I won't be able to work on this challenge until later tonight. I'll have your recommendations up tomorrow, which is before the Dec 2 deadline but not before the 1st. Sorry.

I really wish the local library would get their internet access software figured out. I'd be on every night that way. Whenever it reaches one of the GR is at full capacity screens, it automatically kicks the site over to the proscribed list. After that, you cannot access any single page on GR from a library computer. It stays that way until they physically go in and clear it from the list. Sometimes it takes a couple weeks even when I inform them of the problem. The next time I go in it's a guessing game as to how long I'll have access before it happens all over again. I finally decided it just wasn't worth the headache.

Isha | 500 comments Hi Shell! Here are your picks.

1. Release Date

Barefoot in the Sand by Roxanne St. Claire. From your TBR but it doesn't seem like you have read anything by her. Light romance.

COVER
Night Walker Night Walker (The Night Series, #1) by Lisa Kessler
and described in a quoted review as "hot romance and cool characters"

Christmas of the Red Chiefs by Linda Lael Miller author is not new to you but you don't have seem to have read any books with "Christmas" in the title and snow is always "cool"

Welcome to the Pick-It-For-Me Challenges!

message 280: by Christina (new)

Christina (christinaovallsbooks) | 384 comments Ashley

Here are two additional short stories for you to chose from:
Naked - This one looks very interresting.
Magic in the Wind (Drake Sisters, #1) - You seem to have read some of her other books, but not this one.

If you don't find something that you like on your list, please let me know and I can do some re-picks.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Susanne, If you don't find what you are looking for, please let me know and I'll try again. You seem to have a great many more historical romance novels than I do but I'll do my best.

1. Release Date - Older - Cut & Run (Cut & Run #1) by Abigail Roux - I've not heard of this book before finding it on your Winter-Reading shelf. The reviews look great and I might even have to track this down for me.
Newer - My Bluegrass Baby by Molly Harper - OK, so the book doesn't come out until the 17th of Dec. That is still plenty of time to read it by the end of the month. You have yet to read a Molly Harper book? You will love it!

2. Book Length - Shorter - You have Unraveled by Jaci Burton on your TBR list. However, if you are looking for something that EVERYONE should read at some point in time and is short but meaningful, you can't beat The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry .
Longer - Devil's Bride (Cynster, #1) by Stephanie Laurens - You've recently added the whole series to your TBR. Why don't you get started with this stout entry?

3. Author - Old Favorite - Storm's Heart (Elder Races, #2) by Thea Harrison - I know you aren't much of a PNR fan but I'm trying to give you a broad spectrum of choices. You gave the first in the series a solid ***** rating (and well deserved). This is the second and it continues to be a solid series all the way through. For a contemporary choice, go with Bad Boys Do (Donovan Brothers Brewery, #2) by Victoria Dahl . You've liked some of the others by this author and I think you will like this one as well.
New Blood - Beguiling the Beauty (Fitzhugh Trilogy, #1) by Sherry Thomas - I am not a lover of historical romance but I actually really liked this one. Give it some consideration. For something a bit more modern, go with Nauti Boy (Nauti, #1) by Lora Leigh . A fun spicy read.

4. Cover - Hot - Tempted by Megan Hart - I just read this and LOVED it. One of the best menage stories I have ever read. If BDSM is more your thing then definitely read The Siren (The Original Sinners, #1) by Tiffany Reisz . Another excellent book to be sure.
Cool - How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #1) by Molly Harper - snow? That's 'cool' right? It's on your TBR and is a lot of fun. Give it a shot.

OK, if you need something different let me know and I'll attempt to satisfy your desires.

Ashley, if you listen to audiobooks at all, the audio version is narrated by Davina Porter and is absolutely AMAZING! I never would have made it though the first book in the series if I was reading it (I'm extremely intimidated by overly long books), but I'm down to the last one (so far) in audio, and have loved every minute of them.

Raine | 177 comments Pam, thank you for going through my extensive TBR pile, which is a hopeless mess, I know. I really love your picks.

We have an anual holiday coming up in four days, Sinterklaas, where everybody gives gifts to each other and there is a big chance I will be getting Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole so I definitely will be reading that one.
But as I loved all the other picks, I hope to get to so many as possible.

message 288: by S (new)

S (booksstarsmoon) | 220 comments Thanks Photojim for the amazing picks! I want to read them all xD Too many books, too little time! Lol!

I will definitely read Devil's Bride. I'm so excited to start a new series! We just got a lot of snow here so I will also do my best to read How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf xD It's been long forgotten.

I will also try to read The Little Prince - thanks for suggesting it to me! How can I have missed it?

If times allow it I will also read Tempted and Storm's Heart.

Devil's Bride (Cynster, #1) by Stephanie Laurens How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #1) by Molly Harper The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Tempted by Megan Hart Storm's Heart (Elder Races, #2) by Thea Harrison

Cut & Run seems awesome right? I just booked a BR for it in January so unfortunately it has to wait. Hope you enjoy it if you track it down!

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Hi Dee

Hope you find something great on your list this month. Let me know if there are any problems and I'll come back and fix it.

1. Release Date
Old:
Fade to Black by Leslie Parrish -- I've had this on my TBR for quite some time also. If you'd like to attempt a buddy read, I'm willing.
New: The Perfect Hope by Nora Roberts -- You can't go wrong with Nora! LOL. I really enjoyed the first two in this trilogy and am looking forward to Hope's story (and finding out what happened to Billy).

2. Book Length
Short:
Seducing Jane Porter by Dominique Adair -- I didn't see any Adair on your shelves and thought she might fit.
Long: Fire by Kristen Cashore -- (I'm assuming your Bookmooch shelf has unread titles. If this isn't true, I can pick something else for you.) I really enjoyed Graceling and hope to read this myself someday. Unfortunately, it's lost in my TBR somewhere.

3. Author
Love them:
Crave by J.R. Ward -- It looks like you really enjoy the Black Dagger books, but so far you've only read the first book in this series.
Who? Ravenous by Sharon Ashwood -- I enjoyed this first book in a paranormal romance series and was intrigued by all the possibilities based on the world building.

4. Cover
HOT
Fighting the Undertow by Eden Rivers Fighting the Undertow by Eden Rivers -- I've not read anything by this author, but the cover sure caught my attention.
COOL Viper Moon (Earth Witches, #1) by Lee Roland Viper Moon by Lee Roland -- Another book I've had on my TBR for a while. I'd be willing to attempt a buddy read with this one if you want to try and track down a copy.

Sorry it took me so long to get them to you. It has been one of 'those' weeks. Deep breath and some time with my wife and all is right with the world again.

This morning I'm looking back over the picks and realize that for the 'C' category, I really didn't pick anything exceptionally explicit. Tempted is the only one that can be classified as erotica and it's more of a good story than an erotic tale. If you are disappointed by the lack of smut factor I'm sure I can come up with a couple of suggestions for you. (ok so maybe the Lora Leigh has some erotic elements too but still nowhere near an Opal Carew or Emma Holly smut-fest level)
