I really liked Simply Irresistible -- a solid 4 stars, possibly 4 1/2. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something sweet and funny with a sexy hero. ;-) I quickly bought and read the second in the series, The Sweetest Thing, and liked that one, too. So now I'm making my way through the rest of the series.

Thanks for the great recommendations. I'm planning on reading Eon Dragoneye Reborn (Eon, #1) by Alison Goodman & Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1) by Larissa Ione . If there's time, I may try for another from the list.

If it's not too much trouble, can you remember any books that didn't have a designation? I thought all books added to my main shelves had to get sorted onto one of the exclusive shelves. I have 5 since I added a to-buy shelf and an interesting shelf (for any "maybe" books I wanted to keep an eye on). If you don't remember any examples, don't worry about it. I just wanted to fix any potential problems for future pickers. Thanks.

D.G. | 4477 comments Karen! I finished my first pick! Never Seduce a Scot (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #1) by Maya Banks was definitely an enjoyable read. I finished it in like a day! Thanks for the rec!

Now I'm reading Lessons in French by Laura Kinsale . For some crazy reason I thought I had that book in print only so I was a bit shocked when I checked one of my reading apps and saw it there! I started it and immediately was hooked!

I'm glad you enjoyed your picks!
I do remember about the Black Dagger Brotherhood series - I wanted to recommend you one of those, but some books were just 'added', some were marked as 'interesting' - and it could mean you found it interesting after reading it or that you thought it was interesting enough to read - and some were as 'to read'. I didn't really know which one you had or had not read, so I just went to other choices. Hope that helps! :D

Elke (ejurca) | 1810 comments Brett,

Read my second pick!! The Lesson Plan (Lords of Lancashire #1) by Jackie Barbosa , it was ok....real short!! On to the next.....I think this month will be the one I read most of my picks!!!

Bror (Abrar) (ab2y) | 152 comments I just finished reading Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon it was really good story but really really really long book , it made me hesitant about reading the next book and "ye" really annoyed me , so 4.5 stars it is .

Thanks for your help Larissa. I renamed my "interesting" shelf as "maybe". I'll have to see what I can do about any just marked as "added".

message 370: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (LexaReads) | 375 comments Hey Joyce, I finished Creed (Unfinished Hero, #2) by Kristen Ashley last night. It's finals time, so I'm surprised I found time to read. It was pretty good. I thought it was kind of boring compared to mmost Kristen Ashley books though. Either way she's one of my favorite authors so thanks for a great recommendation!

message 371: by Pollyanna (new)

Pollyanna (polly8) | 300 comments Hey Nancy I finished Girl, Interrupted today and gave it 4 stars, I have been meaning to read this for ages so thankyou for giving me the push :) I love the film and so I wasn't sure if I would enjoy the book, it isn't at all like the film and I quite liked that.

Awesome! I just noticed you read Take Me. I thought that one was ok, too. Not my favorite one so far in that series, but I still love Olivia Cunning. I need to get to reading Lesson Plan. It's been on my kindle for awhile. haha

message 373: by Brett (new)

Brett | 478 comments Colette,

I finished my first pick Reflected in You (Crossfire, #2) by Sylvia Day . I loved it! At first I was a little iffy about Eva in this one. So much push and pull, but the made up for it.

message 374: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11334 comments I finished my first pick this for this month, Bared to You. I liked it a lot, but I think it would have been even better if I hadn't read the Fifty Shades books so recently. I found myself spending more time making comparisons than enjoying the story for its own sake. I was very impressed with the narration though, and plan on picking up the next book in audio sooner rather than later. Thanks for the rec, Sassafrass - it was a great start, but I still have several more planned to read! :)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1511 comments Kelli,

I read my first recommendation - Christmas in High Heels (A High Heels Mystery, #3.5) by Gemma Halliday and liked it. It was extremely short though, so I'll read something else as well. Thanks for the rec.

Karen,

I felt the exact same way after I read Bared To You. I kept making comparisons to Fifty as I was reading it. And I kept thinking, "why is Sylvia Day doing a 50 Shades remake? She's Sylvia Day! She is awesome and so talented, why do it?" But there is a huge audience for it and so many loved it so I guess she knows what she is doing ;)

message 377: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11334 comments This is my first Sylvia Day book, so I didn't really have any expectations, other than having heard a lot of buzz. I also knew that there were comparisons between the two series, but I didn't realize just how alike they were until I started listening to it. I will admit though that the farther along in the book I got the less often I noticed the comparisons - although they were always there to some extent.

~KarenH~ | 11334 comments For those of you who expressed an interest in a buddy read of Seduction and Snacks, I opened a discussion thread here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1.... I listed a start date of the 10th, but if that doesn't work for you, feel free to jump in whenever!

message 383: by Bror (Abrar) (new)

Bror (Abrar) (ab2y) | 152 comments I read Faith & Fidelity (Faith, Love, & Devotion, #1) by Tere Michaels its very realistic and cute , i liked the book in general , the kids are cute and precious , the gay for you concept was nice but some parts were slow , the first half was a heartbreaker and i had a hard time reading through it . i gave this book 4 out of 5 stars .
Thanks for the pick Penney :)

Irina (reetu_416) | 504 comments Finished my first pick Devoured which was also a buddy read with Elke. Firstly, a big thanks to her for the recommendation needed that additional push for this one.. :)
Now onto the book.. It was a decent read sadly, the book didn't live up to the synopsis couldn't connect to the characters.. not sure if I'll continue with the series.
Onto the next one!

message 385: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11334 comments I finished my second pick this morning - Do Over. What an amazing, wonderful story! It gave me a case of the warm and fuzzies that will last quite a while, I think. Thanks so much for the nudge to read it, Sassafrass, I don't know why I've been sitting on it for so long!

message 386: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) Hi Dee:

I have received a library from my in-laws of over 5000 books and am reading my way through it, trying to read a book series in order. That is why most of my books are so old. I also have not entered hardly any of the ones I plan to read into my to read list. Thank you for your picks. I would love to buddy read Low Pressure with you. I am cheap so I will get it from the library. When do you want to read it and how does the budy system work?

I finished Iced (Dani O'Malley, #1) by Karen Marie Moning and loved it! I highly recommend it to anyone who has read all the other fever books. Now do I have to wait another year for the next one in the series. Uggh!I don't usually finish it so quickly it was that good.

~KarenH~ | 11334 comments Hey, everyone!

For those interested in a Seduction and Snacks buddy read, as the cold-induced fog lifted from my brain I realized that there is another buddy read planned for the 10th that has some potential overlap in participants, so we're bumping the S&S start date to the 15th. I hope that doesn't mess up anyone's plans!
