7:58 PM And I'm tripping out because I'm about 10 miles east (the direction the storm is heading) of a tornado in Weatherford. It's so weird, the sun shining and it's storming. I've never saw this before. I've seen rain but never storm.

9:15 PM. About to get hammered by the storms Chuck mentioned. Hopefully the power doesn't go out so I can read UtD. We had spaghetti for dinner and it was delicious, and my workout was great. Think I want some coffee soon, along with some ice cream.
There are all kinds of tornadoes in the area. I'm sure this will make the national news.
Yeah, Dallas and Tarrant counties are under Tornado warnings. Collin is just under a severe thunderstorm warning, so we will see if it changes.
Where at?? It's only thundering here and light rain. For now......lol

10:22 PM I've heard there is pretty significant damage where Tarrant, Parker and Hood Counties come together. I suspect it hit a little town I lived in a few years ago outside of Granbury called Acton. I'll definitely be on the news when the suns comes up.I haven't read like I wanted the past few days. I'm about to really get into Inferno, I hope. I probably have too many books going.

I just saw a tornado hit Granbury.....my grandparents live there and now I am worried because it was near the lake where they live.
Can you call them, Kathryn? Did you ever spend any time there? I ask because I've all ways thought your picture looks familiar.
I can't get through. I lived there for a year, when I was like five. Then, I lived in Rowlett until my twenties.
12:13 a.m. and I finally got first shift at work! I am excited. Now I will have more time to do the things I love. Only downfall is I worked second tonight and just got home and took shower, so now I will only be able to get about five hours sleep. I don't care how tired I am, can't go right to bed when I get home. But, I am really happy about this. Gonna read for maybe an hour and then attempt sleep.

Yeah in the DFW area. Where I live is just now getting hammered by the storms Chuck already went through.

The preliminary numbers are 10 tornadoes, 6 dead, 14 missing and over a 100 injured. The pics are unbelievable.

Kathryn are your grandparents ok? Hope you got to talk to them. It is horrible that there were fatalities because of the tornadoes.

7:52 AM. Called Grandpa right when I woke up. I was worried all night. He is okay, and said the big tornado hit about three miles from him. Right when I got in bed after talking to my dad, the storms were over us, so we had loud thunder and lightning. Couldn't sleep because I was worried the tornado siren would go off. Needless to say, I foresee either lots of coffee, a nap, or both in my future today. Lol

8:13AM and I'm beat, didn't sleep well at all last night. I will either be making coffee or hitting the energy drink. Hope to get a little reading in if I can.Been a few days since I've checked it. Glad all are safe from the storms in Texas. Cindy, that's so heresy that you are on the day shift. Hope I didn't miss anyone with important posts. That will make such a difference in your life (speaking as one who worked a lot of night shifts)! Glad no one was hurt by the tornadoes. Katy, how was the Star Trek movie? I would really love to see it.
Just having a leisurely morning drinking coffee and hanging out with hub. He leaves for Cleveland tomorrow morning. Son got out of hospital last night, so we're glad about that. Only thing is, we were cleaning his room in expectation of him coming home and found evidence of IV drug use. That explains a lot. It's not the first time, this has been a really hard ongoing problem. Hope we can handle the situation. He was in the hospital for 10 days so at least he's sober now.

10:11 AM. Terri, glad to hear about your son, but sorry about the evidence of drug use. Will keep him and your family in my prayers. I know that has to be hard. Katy, how was Star Trek? I think we're all dying to know! I am a big Star Trek fan, and can't wait to see the new movie.
I ended up going back to sleep for a bit with Gizmo, who was happy to curl back up with me. I was pretty tired from last night's rock and roll-fest in the skies. Love the rain, though. Need a giant cup of delicious coffee now so I can focus on UtD, otherwise I am going to need another nap.
10:53am-at work, tired. But I survived the storms and tornadoes here in Texas but it was scary!!! On a happy note, yesterday I found out I got into grad school!!! I'll be going to the University if Texas at Arlington to start working on my Master's of Social Work!!! Start in August!!! Excited and nervous!!!

Terri glad to hear your son is being released from the hospital. Sorry though that you found evidence of drug abuse. I know that must be hard for you. I had a mom that was addicted to prescription drugs, the more she was into them the worse it got for us kids, so kinda like role reversal between us. It seems we had to babysit her rather than the other way around. Anyway y'all are in my thoughts and prayers.

2:49 p.m. EST Star Trek was awesome! I loved how they switched things up, but can't really say much because... well, major spoilers. I haven't read any reviews so don't know if they have been told and don't know what people know about the movie. I went into it pretty blind, so was totally surprised, although I figured it out a bit before the denouement of the surprise. I'll put a bit under a spoiler tag for those who don't mind such. (view spoiler) I absolutely love what they're doing with Spock, letting him be more human, and his relationship with Uhuru.
However, in one of the worst cases of bad timing EVER, something made me sick and I had to leave once during the teasers and three times during the actual movie to throw up. :-( I came home and took some anti-nausea medicine, and once I was sure that was staying down, I took my muscle relaxers and just went to bed rather than popping in to talk about the movie, because I really felt miserable. I just managed to eat a few pistachios, but I think once I finish my e-mail I'm going to sleep for a little bit more, just in case. I really conked out this morning, though; was asleep by about 4 and only woke up once, right around 8, to take my medication and went right back to sleep until 2. I rarely sleep like that nowadays; I usually wake up repeatedly, even if I'm in bed for a long time.
My husband's co-workers were pretty cool, and so were their friends that came along. There were, I think, 6 guys and me... LOL Fernando, one of the co-workers, was totally shocked when Dmitry told him I wanted to come, saying "She wants to come along?" several times... LOL Dmitry and I were the only real "Trekkies" there, but John, Rex's roommate (Rex is a co-worker), says he is a new fan and wants to hang out and watch all the movies with us. So that will be fun.
Well, that was an epic post! LOL I'll talk to everyone later!
4:15 p.m. EST Just about done clearing out my e-mail. I did NOT meet my goal of being caught up on Vine books by yesterday, but today's offer didn't have anything in which I was interested anyway, so I guess that worked out... however, I still have 30 books to read to have them all done and I highly doubt I'll have managed that by next Thursday... :-/ Still, according to the note they put, I have to review only 4 books to request something else, which doesn't make sense when they say "100 percent to be reviewed w/in 30 days" and 26 books is not = no books... so I have no idea. I've e-mailed the support and asked them WTF they were thinking to change the ToS with only 6 weeks notice, especially for people like me who have been taking advantage of the 20 percent unreviewed thing... *sigh* Anyway ... I really need to finish up my e-mail and take a nap and then start POWER-READING.... I've been sleeping way too much. Hopefully that won't continue...
3:37 PM. Going to do a load of dishes, then workout hard. I'd like to be done before The Boy gets home.
9.54PM. Chilling with the mother. Its her birthday :) Just catching up on here then back on to reading 11/22/63
5:13 PM just caught some of the news. They're showing last night's devastation. It's unbelievable! It's as bad as anything I've seen. I can't believe there weren't more fatalities. It's amazing.

6:08 PM. I had a great workout earlier. Right now, I am watching the news for a bit, then I am going to cook dinner. I might read a bit before cooking, but definitely afterwards.

4:37 p.m. EST My husband's co-worker picked up discounted tickets, so we're going to see the new Star Trek movie at the first showing right after midnight! I'm so PSYCHED! Unfortunately, today's TeeFury shirt is Star Trek oriented and I want it SO BADLY but I can't order; there is something wrong with the javascript... *pout* My javascript is all up to date, so I have no idea what the problem is... Anyway, so I slept all day since I have that BlogTalk Radio show tonight, and won't have a chance to nap. But now I have to go and so a 2nd pass on an editing job, so I need to clear out my e-mail so I have a few hours to work uninterrupted.... Hope everyone is doing well!
