7:53am Monday morning. Bad weekend. Older son is back in the hospital in the psych unit. The roller coaster starts again...Trying to keep busy and distract myself. Making chicken stock, probably will just freeze it for later use. Doing some laundry. Drinking coffee. I have 3 books to read, but none of them really grab me. Leg pain as usual. A long day stretches ahead...Hope everyone on GR is fine.

7:28AM Kay left for school about a half hour ago. I am in the middle of laundry. I hate Mondays. Aeverie is still sleeping. Hopefully he will sleep another hour or so. I love this peaceful time. Had a couple of eggs for breakfast and now drinking some honey tea. Gonna start my morning with Rot and Ruin. And then will eventually switch back to The Talisman.

Michelle glad things are better with your brother. And gratz on the lil one!

Terri so sorry to hear about your son. I hope that everything will be ok. Hugs and prayers.

10:55 a.m. and it's gonna be a really busy day for me. Three hours before leaving for work and here is my to-do list before work. Shower, pay phone bill, take rent check to landlord, laundry, and read a little in-between. Guess I better get to it.

Michelle - I left a comment on your blog. The picture is beautiful.

Katy - look at it this way; maybe you'll get more done with the added boost of energy :)

Terri - so sorry to hear about your son. Fingers crossed that he will get the help he needs. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Janie - probably won't get a lot of reading done today because I have a lot to do before work. Doubtful that I'll get much reading done while at work. It has been pretty busy lately. I do plan on taking The Talisman with me when I do laundry here in a bit.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:14 AM. Good Morning, GR! Yesterday was super busy, so I didn't have time to check-in with my friends. I had to run to the craft store, go to Petsmart for more cat food, did grocery shopping, came home and put the groceries away, did about four loads of laundry, and in between the laundry, I cleaned the house, and we smoked a brisket, made scalloped potatoes, squash and tomatoes, and I made a cherry cobbler. My dad is finally home after about a month and a half of not seeing him, so it was so nice to have him over for dinner. I did some crocheting yesterday while waiting for dinner to finish. Then, we watched two of our shows, and I ironed Mark's slacks and shirts for work. By the time I got in bed, I was too tired to read.

Today, I am going to focus on Under the Dome. I'm quite behind, and really want to get more into it.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

9:30PM Well Amy came to get Aeverie shortly after dinner. Watched The voice, and now I am gonna sit back and read. After the house goes to sleep it is so peaceful, unless of course Aeverie is here and awake LOL. This morning I managed to get to 200 on Rot and Ruin. So now I am gonna read some of The Talisman. Wanna get to 300 at least tonight if not more.

11:19 p.m. EST The modem wouldn't connect, so I've been off-line all day again. I finished two of the three novellas I had scheduled this week, and I see the other one in my inbox so I'll be doing that tomorrow. I slept a lot today, and read a bit otherwise. Still coughing, which is so annoying. My stomach hurts!

1:36 a.m. and I think I have no choice but to call it a night. I hurt my back somehow today but have no idea how. Just went to get up and get something for the dog and could barely walk. Maybe laying flat on my back will help. Goodnight everyone. Pleasant dreams.

message 4026: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry to hear that, Cindy. I know how debilitating back pain is. I hope a good night's sleep will help.

4:21 a.m. EST Just popped in to check for freebies on my wishlist, add my review of Seduction to Amazon and the link from that to NetGalley, and generally tidy up my inbox. Will read for awhile longer and then time for a nap, I think.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 8:30AM and I'm at work. Finally day 6 of six!!! The down side is I am itching to get off of work so I can enjoy my next two days off. Hope to get some reading in today because yesterday was a bust all around. Just glad it is over.

Cindy I hope your back feels better, Laying flat on the floor helps when I have hurt my back.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:06 AM. Woke up this morning to a call from my brother asking if I'd pick up his two oldest kids from school! I am so excited to see them! Going to focus on UtD today once I make a cup of coffee. :) Mark didn't feel well last night so we ended up having soup and grilled cheeses for dinner, so tonight I will make his favorite meal. Poor guy had to take a two hour nap when he got home, so hope he doesn't get another headache today. The weather has been so crazy, a lot of people have been getting headaches lately. Anyways, hope you all have a wonderful day!

Chris-Yay for 6 of 6!! I know that has to be a relief!

Cindy, sorry to hear about your back. I get back pain sometimes, and I have sciatica, so I kind of know how you feel. A few things which help me are, a hot shower or hot bath, or I use a heating pad and lay down on it for a bit.

message 4029: by [deleted user] (new)

11:31am. Thanks everyone for the support for my son. Really appreciate it.

Yay Chris--6 of 6 done!! Enjoy your 2 days off!

Cindy, hope your back feels better.

Not much to do today. Hanging out with the puppy Charlie. Will read in a bit. Hard to concentrate with the worry and anxiety bothering me. It's hard not to feel responsible when your child has mental illness. Trying to think about other things...

10:51AM What a beautiful day today. Gonna get kind of warm though. I can tell that already. Last night I really enjoyed reading The Talisman, did not get to bed till after 1:00am and then Max, our dog, kept jumping on the door and waking me up. I am not sure what his deal was. So I laid back down after Kay left for school. Now I feel refreshed.

I start round 2 of Insanity! WOOT! Looking forward to that. Hub started with his fit test last night. He had a hard time with it, so I don't feel so bad. I told him that it was hard for me too. I hope he sticks with it.

Cindy sorry to hear about your back. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Chris it is always awesome to have 2 days off in a row! Enjoy them when you get there. Enjoy your reading today.

Terri it is hard to focus with so much on your mind. And it has to be harder when it comes to your child! Hope everything gets better for all concerned.

12:11 p.m. and I'm gonna attempt to read for a bit. Fingers crossed that I will be able to walk at work, but I have chosen not to focus on the pain. It only makes it worse. Need to catch up on some of my reading because I'm a bit behind.

Janie, so glad you feel refreshed after your nap. I couldn't get to sleep at all last night and kept waking up when I did. Good luck with your reading, I'm looking forward to starting SotL on Friday.

12:10PM So I have 3 hours 50 min till the end of my shift and I get an hour lunch break at 2. Can't wait for this day to end. So close. Still, no reading. It has been a busy day.

12:30PM Enjoying the quiet time I have right now before hub gets home. Aeverie will not be with us till Sunday afternoon. So lots of spare time to read. I got myself interesting in Ellen Hopkins with some help from Rachel :) so I find myself really looking forward to those. The UBS always has a ton of her books there. So hopefully I will at least find the first book of series. There are 2 different series, Crank and Impulse, that I would like to read. She also has some single books as well.

Yay Chris you are almost home! With 2 glorious days off! YAY! I too am looking forward to SOTL. I have it sitting here on my desk and I keep looking at it. LOL

9:30PM. My first night back to Insanity work out. Another 2 months. it felt good to be at it again. Last week was recovery and I worked out for 3 days of that. Watched The Voice tonight of course. Looking forward to UTD airing June 24th! WOOT I am stoked about that since UTD is one of my favorite King books. At that time of night that is my peace and quiet time. Gonna pick up Rot and Ruin here in a few minutes. Wanna reach pg. 300. This 2 book stuff is going pretty smoothly. I could not put down the Talisman for nothing today. LOL Had me in it's clutches. It seems pretty quiet here today! Hope everyone is having a relaxing evening.

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments 12.09pm just at work and thinking about having a lunch break. Good on you for getting into your work outs Janie, I really need to get back into mine, I feel so unenergetic at the moment and I know that it would help a lot. That's awesome that you're enjoying the Talisman, I think I'm going to give it a miss and wait until I really, really feel like reading it again. I started listening to the audio version last year and I still have the guys voice in my head and it's spoiling the experience for me lol! I will still keep up with the discussion though as I think I remember the storyline pretty well. My copy of NOS4A2 arrived today, I can't wait to read it! I'm reading Candy at the moment... WOW! It's amazing! Got stuck at work until 7pm last night and I'm hoping I can get away at 5 today, maybe go visit my little nephew and squeeze in some reading before bedtime. Hope everyone is having a great day/night :D

I will finish Rot and Ruin prolly tomorrow and then hopefully will finish the Talisman by Thursday.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:55 PM. Had a great afternoon with my brother's kids. They were so surprised and happy I picked them up from school. I even got to the school early and read some of UtD. I stayed with them for a few hours after school and played with them. Got home at seven, made my boy his favorite meal, and now we are crocheting and watching some telly.

Oh, on my way to pick up the cute little kids, I stopped off at the USB and found a first edition, like new Flowers in the Attic and My Sweet Audrina. I was so excited about the because they are the covers I wanted. :)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:06 a.m. EST my husband does weird, random research. tonight he started with nutrias, moved on to muskrats, and then somehow went to magpies, and discovered that they are considered the most intelligent birds, that they recognize their own reflections in mirrors, and are the only birds that will use tag-team play to pester cats. He has been watching YouTube videos, and I think now has moved on to owls. We both like owls. They're so cute :-)

I'm all done editing, so on to reading for the rest of the week.
