12:23PM Ok just got done playing wiz101 with Hub online and now I am ready to read, read, read. I wanna read into about 100 pages on Rot and Ruin. I am really enjoying it. And I would like to get another 100 into The Talisman. I am enjoying both books immensely.

Cindy routers can be so troublesome sometimes. I think we have had 3 now lol. But our wireless internet company had to switch our tower because we were having many many troubles. Out where we live it is hard to get cable or DSL. We tried a company but they were not doing much for upgrade. So we went back to wireless and now that they switched our tower our service has been way better.

Kathryn I love when you are happy! We still need to get together one of these days. I guess we are just gonna have to plan a day in the future and meet at the UBS in Denton. It would be a lot of fun! Dontcha think?

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:48 p.m. EST Couldn't sleep very much, so I'm back up, but at least my nose is less runny and coughing less. It's really chilly and grey today in Georgia - global warming my ASS - and I believe I'll make some tea when I'm done with e-mail and can hold a mug...

I love tea too, When I have some spending money I like to go to this store Teavanna. It is amazing with the different types of tea, and supplies. I am addicted to that store almost as much as book stores, but Teavanna is pricy so I only go a few times a year.

1:12 PM At work tonight. Anxious to get out of here already. I'm off at 9 and that is when the Blues Game starts so I will be rushing home to grab some food, beer and watch the game. Hoping to get a little reading in today.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments I have this stuff I find at the Farmer's Market, one part chrysanthemum and one part momordica (lo han quo); it's a lot of sugar, but it's excellent for the health of the throat and lungs, so I try to keep lots of it on hand and drink it as often as possible. I was introduced to it probably 20 years ago in Portland by a lovely woman I knew there and have tried to find it wherever I am.

2:14 p.m. EST Time to make some tea and then read!

Hood . I just inked two pages of the graphic novel today...I am feeling dizzy. Well, atleast I got it done at a decent hour today. Going to use my remaining energy to get some reading done.

Ooh I really dig these guys! You introduce me to some really great music, thanks! There are a lot of groups that provide a really good message these days, and that makes me happy. Good music PLUS great message!

10:11 p.m. EST Just woke up from a nap, was having a really crazy dream. One of my "I can fly" dreams among other things... Heh. There was some sort of gathering of people in a huge space, I saw people doing Tarot readings, people partying. It was kind of cool. I love dreams like that but hate waking from them, 'cause I want to go back and live there... Heh. Anyone else with that particular psychosis?

9:56PM Took Kayla to freebirds for a celebration dinner. Her older sister treated us to an amazing burrito meal. So we had a good time. Got home at 7:45PM Hub is now in bed, Kay is as well. Aeverie is here and still awake. I just managed to get 100 pages into Rot and Ruin. So yay on that. Not quite sure what to think yet. It is an enjoyable read, but not much going on. So maybe within the next 100 pages something a little more exciting will happen.

Now time to switch over to The Talisman. Get 100 pages in on that? Doubtful! LOL

message 3962: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments My husband and I have both said we want to move to Texas, too. It seems like a cool place to live.

11:15 p.m. EST almost done with e-mail and then time to read. Hubby brought me a couple biscuits to nosh on.

message 3963: by [deleted user] (new)

11:22 p.m. and although I worked today (on my normal day off), I am not tired. Might even stay up all night reading The Talisman by Stephen King . I am really getting into this book now. It is one of those you just don't want to put down.

message 3964: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments I remember the first time I picked up The Talisman. It was while I was still dating my first ex-husband, and we were visiting some friend of his. I had no real interest in their conversation, so I grabbed a nearby paperback - The Talisman. While I was reading it, everything around me just... went away. When Michael told me it was time to go, it was like the world snapped back into place and a resounding silence was left where that amazing world had surrounded me. It took me a few years to find my own copy, but I did eventually, and when I finally had the chance to read it through, it was just as amazing as I remembered.

message 3965: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm around 99% certain that I have read this book previously Katy. It is very familiar. And good!

12:44AM Ok so now Aeverie is asleep as well. I am going to read a bit before going to sleep since I have not gotten in any pm The Talisman today but a few pages.

Kathryn this next Saturday evening would work like around 6? or is that too late?

message 3973: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:18 a.m. EST Hubby came home tired and went straight to bed. He'll have to wake up in a couple hours to put the dog out, though. He suggests lunch today so we can have a Cinco de Mayo margarita. Red Lobster or Outback? Not a Mexican place; they'll be packed with drunken frat boys! We'll see. Can't really afford it, but *shrug* Not like we really have the money to pay all the bills anyway, right? Might as well have a nice lunch to try to get our strength back up after being sick all week.

message 3974: by [deleted user] (new)

6:28 a.m. and my plan for sitting up all night and reading didn't exactly work out as planned. Got really sleepy about an hour after I made that comment. Just woke up and it's quiet around here so I'm reading more of The Talisman.

10:11AM I wanna read a lot today so I better get off of GR and get started. Will be taking Aeverie outside today for planting pumpkin seed. He will enjoy that. But until then I am gonna read some more of The Talisman.

Cindy, I was awake till 3:00AM but I was playing a game and not reading. I got hooked into it. I would love to get 200 pages read today, whether it be Rot and Ruin or The Talisman.

I'm thinking of my next read. Hmmmm. I might want to crack open a book you guys have been talking about, so I may either start The Talisman or Rot and Ruin. Then again, my might read something else, (I have quite a few unread books on my Nook.) Ugh, I feel like I looking at a menu with too many options!

Yes it is, it is book 2 of 3 in the Millennium series. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest is the third book. I liked them all and would defiantly recommend them.

11:31AM At work, day 4 of 6. Almost to my off day, can't wait. Hoping to get some reading in if I can. Not really in the mood to do much of anything today. Looking forward to getting home, cooking dinner, and trying to catch up on some recorded tv.

message 3984: by [deleted user] (new)

12:36 p.m. and I got a late start on my buddy read this month because I was still waiting for the book to come in at the library. Started it a couple of days ago. Would like to get to page 200 at least before the day is out but I have a lot of running to do. We'll see what happens.

message 3985: by [deleted user] (new)

Err!!! Haven't been on Facebook for a long time and they have changed it so much I can't figure out how to search for you guys and send a friend request. If you are my friend on GR's and would like to be my FB friend also, please send me a request. I will figure it out eventually but who knows when I'll have the time.

message 3986: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Cindy; at the very top type in the name of the person for whom you're searching. For instance, to find me, type in Katy Sozaeva.

1:53 p.m. EST Just back from a lovely lunch at Outback. I'm comfortably full and slightly tipsy from a margarita down under style (extra shots of Cointreau and Sauza Gold). Rib-eye steak, yum yum, with raw horseradish really helped my nose! Hopefully the influx of protein will help me finish with this cold presto. Just clearing out the e-mail that came in so far today and then I'll read and digest for awhile, then take a nap. It's a good day for it, grey and rainy.

message 3987: by [deleted user] (new)

I tried that and it keeps defaulting to a search of my current friends. I'm sure I'm just missing something here but I hate when they change things up constantly on FB.

message 3988: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I finally figured out that I can get around it by opening another tab and just doing a google search for the name of the person.

3:47PM Well we got our pumpkin seeds planted. Aeverie enjoyed it. For those of you who are friends with me on FB I will be posting some pictures soon. Getting ready to start dinner, then will take Aeverie to playground. Then will do my recovery workout after that. I have 40 more pages to read to have hit 100 for today. I want to read 200. My brother and his partner had their baby last Thursday - things didn't go very smoothly so its been a bit stressful and emotional for everyone. It's nice to have other things to think about for a while. After work I'm going to go and visit them to take them their washing and some groceries so not sure what time I'll get home. It would be nice to get some reading done tonight as I haven't read anything at all since I finished The Dead Zone over a week ago :(

Considering fitting in another novella before I take another nap and then start editing in the morning, since I have two novellas to read before I can finish the Mercury series by Robert Kroese. I have three novellas to edit this week, so it'll be busy!
