7:12AM Just got Kay off to school now settling in for a quite morning. It is gently raining out right now and pretty dreary. Perfect for reading.
It's 8:41am and I'm relaxing with a cup of coffee and GR. Almost done with the laundry. It's a gray, dreary day, pretty cold but no rain. A good day to cuddle up with my puppy and read the time away!
9:38 AM. Popping on GR because I need the moment. It's been a very rough week at work, and it's only Wednesday. *sigh* Ever have one of those weeks where everything goes wrong, and you wish you could erase the week from your life? Seems like everything I have touched I have screwed up someway, somehow.
Kathryn--***Big Hug*** I'm sorry you're having such a bad week. I know the feeling...try not to be so discouraged and so hard on yourself. You're coping with some huge life changes!!-full time work, loss of reading time, missing your kitties, and I'm sure there's a lot more besides that. Just remember we on GR miss you a lot and are sending good thoughts out into the universe for you.
Awww kathryn I hope the rest of your week goes smoothly. Hugs to you! We miss you!
10:16AM Getting back to my book. I felt exhausted for some reason and laid back down about an hour. Now feeling a little more refreshed I will continue with the Dark Tower Sagea. have a great day everyone.

Kathryn, I am so sorry to hear about your rough week. I know what you mean about wishing you could erase your week and start over. Well I really hope it gets better but just think after today only two more days till the weekend. 10:37 AM and I am working. Been steady so this is the first chance I could check in. I am hopeful to get some reading in today. My reading funk is finally over.
10:43 am - getting ready to head to Portland, Oregon to celebrate my mom's birthday. Taking with me some great books to read. Alone, and
,
Yay Chris glad your reading funk is over. When I go through them they usually dont last too long. Thankfully.
Janet happy birthday to your mom and have a safe trip!
Holly more books huh? What did ya add?

I think it was just the fact that I finished the two I was reading and had some time to cope with things. I started reading the next book in the Dresden files series for where I am at, and couldn't put it down. Only got 15% in yesterday but I am really enjoying it. Now to figure out what audio to start at work.
Lol, yes Janie more books. I posted the list of the books I just bought in the what books have you just bought thread if you want to check it out.
Kathryn wrote: "You guys are the best....And made me cry...haha :) I miss you guys, too. :)"Don't cry unless they are happy tears Kathryn. You are cared about by a lot of people here so try to get through your day as best you can. I hope at least today gets better for you. Good luck.
Holly I did see your list! Nice lot of books! Enjoy them!
Aww Kathryn, Chris speaks wisely and true! You are loved by many! Hope your week gets better! Hugs!

Janet, I am SO JEALOUS!! I love Portland. I lived in Beaverton (a suburb) for 3 years in the early 1990s and just adored the city. I miss it terribly! I hope you have a safe trip and your mother has a wonderful birthday.Kathryn, hang in there. I hate when weeks go bad, but you just have to chastise them, withhold their dessert and tell them they better shape up, mister! Oh, wait, no, that's the child, right? Still, you're over the hump now! It's all downhill from here... just make sure your brakes don't go out.
2:34 p.m. EST Just checking e-mail, updating status on my current Dresden book (I started Death Masks this morning), and copied over a couple of reviews from Amazon that I was thinking about. I might eventually copy them all over, but I was reviewing over there for a good 5 years before I joined GR, so ... it'll take time. Our landlord sent some guys over to muck about with the septic tank this morning, claiming we'd called and said we were having trouble. Umm, yeah, FIVE YEARS AGO... we haven't had any trouble since the family that lived in the other side of the duplex and kept flushing... THINGS... down the toilet all the time and clogged the line. No one lives over there now; a family rents it and uses it for storage as nearly as I can tell. So that was annoying. I didn't fall asleep until after 8 a.m. this morning and the dog starting yapping and barking and making a fuss around noon, so didn't have much sleep. It's not so bad for me, I can go back to sleep later, but it woke my husband, too, and he only fell asleep a bit before I did, and he has to go to work in 20 minutes... *sigh* Oh, well. So, that was my day so far! Meanwhile the dog is hoarse from all the yelping. I imagine he'll need a lot of water once Dmitry is up and puts him out...
4:10PM So Hubby just got home from work abour an hour and a half ago, Kay just got home from school. We just did dinner, Spaghetti was the menu this evening. I have been reading for most of the day and I have a good feeling I will finish tomorrow with this one. So taking a quick peek into GR and see what's new. In all honesty I leave my GR window open and refresh every so often. LOL I know that is bad and I could prolly get much more reading done if I did not keep checking all the posts. I really can't help myself, I am so drawn to GR and my friends here.
Janie, I am the same way. I always have the GR window on my computer at work and I have the app on my phone. Anytime someone posts something on the threads I follow my phone lights up telling me. I am always checking in no matter what I am doing. It is an addiction, and sometimes I worry about myself a little. :-)
hehe LOL Chris! WHEW! Glad I am not the only one that does this. It truly is an addiction I think, well maybe not. When we get to the point where we absolutely can't click the window off ever, then we are addicted. LOL
You arent the only one. If I read one the Ipad, I have the notifications pop up so I don't have to keep going to the sight and refresh
unfortunately in the browser I have to refresh if I keep the window up. That way I can get all the new notifications.
It is 9:15pm and I just got an E-mail advising me that I was chosen to be a giver for World Book Night 2013!

I hope things are going better for you now :-). Whenever you're going through a tough week, remember, "This too shall pass." *Hugs!*

It's 8:31, and I'm watching American Idol and thinking about what I'd like to eat for dinner. I wish Friday's delivered. I could use a medium well steak, mashed potatoes, and mixed veggies right now.

And you are definitely correct. It will pass...and hopefully soon. :) I'm so veery lucky to have a great husband who makes me feel better, and of course, my wonderful GR friends here to also help me feel better. :)

9:28 p.m. EST Didn't have a very successful nap thanks to His Royal Majestic Fluffiness the Fluff deciding to be a pest. He's just so cute though... X-D Anyway, my Facebook actually was working for the first time in over a week, so I spent a long time on there liking and commenting on things. I think I was on there at least a half hour, which is really long for me, 'cause I have this guy who is always trying to chat me up and I usually just pop in and out, but ... wanted to try to make up for some lost time. Anyway, just clearing out e-mail and then I'll read some more. I'll have to break at some point in the next week and do the rest of my ABNA reviewing, though... just not tonight. I'm too grouchy :-)
I have to admit to being a GR addict right along with you guys! It's a wonderful part of my life.
It's 3:33am and I'm up for the day. Really cold for some reason so I'm cuddled up under a quilt my great-grandmother made. Getting ready to have some coffee. I probably will read a lot today. I need to finish 2 books before hub gets home tonight with another library haul. Getting ready for 3 different buddy reads--should be fun.
Hope everyone has a terrific day!

4:26 a.m. EST Just stopping in to check for freebies on my wishlist today, and clear out e-mail. Probably go to bed soonish. My husband has been watching NetFlix movies here and they occasionally distract me from my reading. Last night it was some Swedish drama called Arn, typical warrior drama crap, and tonight it was Last 3 Days, in which the woman was so stupid I repeatedly screamed at her throughout the last hour of the movie whenever I noticed it. I swear, fictional women always seem to lose every last brain cell along with the placenta once they have children... Maybe I don't understand because I'm not a mother, but to me, (view spoiler) What good would that have done the kid, I ask you??? This is why I prefer silly comedy... :-)
10:18am Got woken up by a delivery at half 7 this morning:( Had a shower got dressed, ate breakfast and assembled my hamster cage, going to go and get my hamster after lunch!:D
8:03AM Had a decent night of sleep once I actually got to sleep. I had a million things in my head so it was hard. Had my coffee and now checking in on everyone here at GR Have to have my GR almost as much as my coffee. LOL I will be going to our UBS today, that makes me very happy. Go get some dinner later. Will be waiting on Kay to get home from school though. In the meantime I will be finishing my book. Everyone have a great day!
Well I am so happy to see so many GR addicts, I guess I will worry less about myself because I am in good company. 8:44 AM and I'm at work. We are supposed to get a big snow/ice storm in a few hours that looks to be pretty nasty so not to please I'm not sitting on the couch with the family under a big blanket, with hot cocoa and a fire in the fire place. At least I have a Jeep and the drive home is short, figure it will be a really slow day. Hoping to get some good reading in at least.
Geez, Jordan, that's an EARLY delivery! Chris, hope either a) the storm isn't that bad or b) you make it home safely.2:19 p.m. EST Sat outside for a little but my neighbors next door were busy being stereotypical with really loud rap music booming from their cars and it annoyed me, so I came back in. Plus the wind was chilly and I was cold. Finished #6 of the Dresden Files and ready to start #7!
Thanks Katy for your concern, It's 1:41 PM and we have maybe 3 inches of snow/ice and not a customer in the store. Still, we are open for business, Wish they would close us early so we could all go home. Oh well, I will be careful driving home when ever the time comes.
I can only hope Holly. I'll make sure to post a little message here when I get home. It is nice to have so many people concerned for me. Thanks you guys are great. Plus you are all helping me pass the time. I have been reading on my Kindle so I have enjoyed that quite a bit, and emailing my Mom because she worries too.
You're very welcome Chris. :-)We're supposed to get a storm here soon. Really not looking forward to it.. :-\
That's right you are east of me so what we are in right now is headed your way. Hope it doesn't hit you too bad. Good luck if you have to be out in this too.
I hope it doesn't either, but from watching the weather last night we're going to get a pretty good amount of snow. Thank you.
It's 3:30 PM and I just wanted to let you all know I got home safe. We finally did close early and my little Jeep Wrangler did a great job getting me home safe.
I'm glad I'm home too. It was a long day and the roads are horrible. It was scary getting home but now I can relax and enjoy my family. Thanks for the concern.
Glad you're home safe, Chris!5:55 p.m. EST I had forgotten today was Vine day, but only one book looked interesting, so I only picked one from this one. There's an extra newsletter on Monday plus another on Thursday, so I should find more then! Clearing out e-mail and then back to reading!
Oh, today was gorgeous. I sat out in the front yard around noon, but then after hubby went to work I went to the back and noticed how warm it was back there, so I sat on the back patio for another 15 minutes or so. Last chance I'll have before Sunday. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain all day and only be 45 degrees! This weather is killing me, man...
