7:47PM Just got home. (Chris glad you got home safe!) Ended up at the book store, (Got some new treasures, will share in the proper thread.) Did the grocery thing, and for dinner we tried out MooYah, it was pretty good, first time there.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 9:51 p.m. EST Stopped in b/c I was considering doing some of my ABNA reviews, but I think I'll procrastinate a bit more. I should have taken a nap. Oh, well, too late now! Had a nosebleed... weird, I never have nosebleeds (except that time when I was in hospital 3 days and they gave me blood thinners, and then I had one, but other than that? Just doesn't happen).

message 1855: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Denny the weather was terrible. I think we ended up with 7 inches of snow and ice and we are getting some freezing rain now. When I came home from work the roads hadn't been plowed and it was rough driving home, even for my Jeep. Good luck tomorrow and be safe while driving. If you can stay home I would highly recommend it.

Mooyah is a new burger place we got here. Glad we tried it. You get a mini menu and you check off what you want on your burger. It was pretty cool.

Wow Chris, glad you got home safe!

Rachel 10:22 pm- why is there nothing on tv anymore- oh well at least i have good books to read and always enjoy checking in to see what's up on gr.

chris- glad you're home safe- i'm so over the winter- can't wait for spring

message 1858: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments That place sounds awesome Janie. We had a place called Fudruckers when I was a kid that you picked out your burger and then added what ever you wanted at a topping buffet. They closed probably 15 years ago but I still miss it.

Yep love the snow but I only like driving in it if there are no other yahoos out there. It is a lot if fun to take my Jeep out and put it in 4wheel drive. I hope the roads are better when I have to go to work in the morning.

Hey Chris we do have have a Fuddruckers here. I had no idea that you could do that there. Never been there myself. I will keep that in mind. Were the burgers good?

message 1860: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Well as a kid I thought the burgers were awesome and not just because your could put anything you wanted on them. Now I'm older and have had more experience I can't say. If you try it I'd like to hear what you have to say. I haven't been to one in a very very long time.

Chuck, ASOIAF is a fantastic read. It brings you in quickly and holds you in place. It's a good series to use to rack up some pages.

Glad you got home safe, Chris. We didn't get any snow but we've had freezing rain all night. I'm glad I don't have to go out and drive in it.

Good morning Jordan! Hope your reading was good.

It's 6:31am here and I'm loving my morning coffee. Just got out of a scalding hot shower--for some reason I woke up really chilled this morning. (coffee and shower helped) Found out last night that we've been the victim of identity theft and it's a real mess. False credit card charges and bank overdraft fees because of that. I hope we get it straitened out today.

TGIF everyone!

8:45AM Good Morning everyone! Slept wonderfuly last night. Now here I am checking y'all out. I hope everyone had a good night. Not sure what the day will bring today, Kay is off to babysit some kids in the community.

Have been getting everything ready for Insanity. Yep come monday my family and I are gonna take the Insanity challenge. A couple of years ago my oldest daughter and I did P90X. That was so repetetive! LOL I think Insanity will be better. Have a great Friday everyone.

Terri so sorry to hear about the identity theft, that is horrible. I hope they get everything squared away. Any idea how it started or by who?

Teri I am so sorry to hear you got taken by identity theft. That is horrible, and I hope also that you get it taken care of soon. My heart goes out to you guys.

Janie, good luck with the Insanity challenge, I just looked it up and it looks tough. I used to swim and I miss it sometimes but that is intense.

I'll be here all day so I look forward to chatting with everyone today.

Cool. I'm going to start it in just a bit. Need to finish it by Monday. I don't guess I'll accomplish my challenge. I forgot it was a short month. I should get close though.

message 1874: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry to hear that Terri. The good thing is that since identity theft has become big business, it is usually relatively easy for the victim to fix things. As compared to, say, 15 years ago, that is.

Jordan, I feel your pain. In our neighborhood we have a lot of neighbors with "classic" cars who like to work on them at all hours. Our neighbor will just sit in his and rev the engine, pull onto the street, pull back into his driveway... over and over and over again for HOURS. Sometimes while booming out obnoxious rap music, or if his friends come to visit they'll have competing booming rap music wars... Heh. Drives the dog bughouse. Drives me bughouse... X-D

3:04 p.m. EST Was going to get up and go downtown at noon to set up an appointment for a tattoo, but ... it was so cold and rainy and I was so warm and comfy, so I just stayed in bed and slept. It's still cold and rainy and I missed my chance to talk to the tat artist; apparently I have to catch her right at noon if I want to talk to her. So ... maybe tomorrow.

I remember Fuddruckers. The name always made me giggle, but I have a twisted mind. I've only been a couple times - once in high school at a tournament, and once or twice with my first ex-husband when we lived in Portland. I wasn't terribly impressed, but then again I had discovered Hamburger Mary's in downtown Portland by then, and that's some good stuff, yo. Mmmmm. Dunno if they're still open - it's been 20 years (TWENTY YEARS??? Geez, where did the time go??) since I lived there.

Gah, Norton just did an update and they want me to restart my computer, so I guess I better do that... then I need to clear out my e-mail.

I'm listening to another Lisa See masterpiece, and my Game of Thrones, Season 2 just arrived! This will be my first time seeing season 2. I just love the theme song part. It was fun guessing who the new characters are. And I got it for 25 bucks from Amazon! Who needs cable?

Jordan (jords) | 277 comments Katy, he does it every morning but I'm usually up for college or placement so I don't notice that much but it was my first lie-in for months and he kinda ruined it haha. I hate people like that, we very often have boys in their early 20's having races down out road at 2 in the morning and my bedroom is facing the road, VERY annoying.

LOL Alondra he is definitely twisted, not only with horror. Sometimes I have to ask myself, why did he even put that in there. LOL But I can never seem to stop myself from reading. LOL This book, now that I am further in, is no different. True Laymon style. Make you go "hmmm?"

9:46AM Just about ready to start reading. Will finish this book today. LOL Laymon always has quick fluid books. I love that. Though first I would check in here with everyone!

Yeah, they have pretty good list of twisted books there. That's how I came up with reading AMERICAN PSYCHO. I don't think I could handle some of them like NAKED LUNCH, though.

Janie I have never read Laymon, but I am always looking for a good horror novel. Is there one you would recommend that I start with? I just might add it to my to-read list for this year if there is a good one you really liked.

message 1888: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller American Psycho is a pure head game. I still don't know "who" the main character is. The movie was just as crazy; and Christian Bale did an excellent job... but of course, he does crazy so well.

message 1889: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Laymon is good. Weird. Sick. Twisted. And really, really good.

12:11 p.m. EST Dammit, my Kindle has vanished. I had it this morning around 6 when I grabbed his Royal Majestic Fluffiness the Fluff to cuddle him, and I could have sworn I put it right here on this basket by the bed, but it's nowhere to be found. Those damn gremlins better bring it back pronto... I can't afford a new one and I have books I can only read on an actual Kindle from NetGalley that I won't be able to read if I don't find it... *sigh* Other than that, just work up about 1/2 hour ago, and will finish the Dresden Files on my computer with my backup backup PDF copies... *sigh*

Chris I think one of my favorites was The Traveling Vampire Show. It was a good read. Also the The Beast House. One that is really not worth the read is Bite, I did not like that one at all. Was a little disappointed. All his others are decent too. I am sure you could find one you liked.

Np Chris. I see funhouse in print, paperback is quite expensive. The Hardback collectable is $325 WOW!

message 1896: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I might have typed it wrong. The book is Funland. I found it for Kindle for 3.99$, Maybe it got renamed with a reprint so that would be why the HC is a collectable and so highly priced. That is crazy.

I got an old paperback copy of an out of print book and when I looked to see what it was going for they started at 400$ last I check. I got so lucky to find a copy of Always a Thiefyears ago. If I could bare to part with it I could make serious money.

The paperback of funland was listed on amazon at 8:95 so not bad at all. If you really want to save some money you can always get the kindle book and read on the computer at read.amazon.com, or on a smartphone, or tablet. I have been reading quite a bit on the web site while I'm at work and then I pick it up when I get home on my Kindle. it is pretty cool.
