Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:11 p.m. EST Just went into the kitchen and noticed Betty's eggs had hatched. Lots of tiny little spiders dangling around and momma spider with a very threatening pose watching over them. It's really nifty to watch that; had no idea spiders could be such good mommas. Otherwise, reading Bob Dixon's very interesting take on the "boy in boarding school for psychics" story Mouch & Company: the Dream Psychic.

11:48PM and I AM going to finish this book tonight lol. I know I have been going on about it. I would have been done sooner but we had to go out and do our grocery shopping. I am 20 pages from the finish line though and I will breathe a sigh of relief! So I decided to take a quick break and post here. Hope everyone had a great day!

message 1718: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC It's 12:19 AM and I'm checking my favorite book group before settling in for my marathon late-night reading session. I just so love getting into a good book in the late-night hours.

message 1719: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree, Chuck. It's 1:57am and I was having trouble sleeping again so I decided to just get up and read. I'm hopeful of finding a really good book to get absorbed in. Coffee is brewing, just had some toast made out of the bread I baked yesterday. Glad it's Friday (pizza night!). I have a lot of general cleaning and laundry to do later. Having a lot of fun on GR tonight. It's such a lifesaver!

I SO LOVE homemade bread(and pizza)! Have you readThe Fountainhead, Terri? You might want to check that out if you haven't. I certainly had fun with it.

message 1721: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 15, 2013 09:47AM) (new)

Chuck, I read The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged when I was in high school. I've thought of revisiting them but I never seem to get around to it. The recent linking of Ayn Rand and Paul Ryan doesn't inspire me much.

12:47pm, just ordered a bunch more books from the library. One is the dreaded romance I'm reading for 2 challenges, and also a science fiction and some short stories. I love the library!

message 1722: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:15 p.m. EST Went to bed early last night and slept until noon, despite waking up several times. I was just so sleepy, so kept going back to sleep. Anyway, then I sat out in the sun until I started to turn pink, because this it the first and last nice day for awhile and I wanted to have some sun. This book I'm reading is sort of like Harry Potter in a more realistic world. Weird. Not bad, but I'm not going crazy over it either.

message 1723: by Victor (new)

Victor It's 12:56 PM and I'm watching the 1977 version of Hills Have Eyes. Nothing better than old horror movies:D

I'm sick so that's why I'm not in school:/

Congratulations, Kyle:D

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Congratulations, Kyle and welcome to the new arrival! Victor, sorry you're sick; I hope you'll feel better soon, and in the meantime, I agree that old horror movies are the best!

Kyle, heartfelt congratulations on the new baby! What great news!

It's 7:07am and I'm killing some time before going to the dentist. Just a cleaning today, but I've also had a painful tooth so we'll see what happens. Really cold this morning but no snow on the ground. Looking forward to a library trip later in the day. Have a great day GR!

I apologize my absence from GR this week, I am now ready to talk books again as I look forward to get back into reading, and my writing. I will be here this evening and look forward to the distraction chatting with you all and catching up.

Kyle, congrats on the new baby. I know you must be so excited and proud.

Jordan, I hope your teeth feel better soon. Wisdom teeth get pulled? I had mine out and it was miserable, but for me it was over a decade ago.

message 1743: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I bet, I remember bringing my son home and he was the only kiddo we had then. Can't imagine taking care of a few with a new baby. Good luck.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 3:09 p.m. EST just back from lunch at the pub with my husband. Today is his 39th birthday! One more year and I can give him crap about being 40. Of course, I'm 4 years older than he is (or, rather, 3 1/2), so it's sort of a silly thing to do... :-) Reading Dresden Files. Haven't forgotten about the Kin Buddy read, just haven't started yet.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 6:17 PM. Just got home from doing some shopping with my husband. Needed a few more clothes for work, and some new dress shoes. Think I might start KIN tonight so I can read along with you all. Now I think I am going to get some stuff cleaned around the house. :)

9:12PM Grandbaby here for a couple of days so not sure how much reading I will get done, hopefully some anyway.

It was very good Katherine! I enjoyed it, was a bit disturbing. LOL if you have a kindle or the kindle app you can get The Turtle Boy for free on Amazon also by Keelan Patrick Burke.

I liked THE FOUNTAINHEAD way more than I'm liking ATLAS SHRUGGED. ATLAS SHRUGGED is pretty painful reading for those of us on the left.
