Shelf: Favorite Author

Date Finished: September 23, 2012

Rating: 3 stars

Review: Dylan is finding fatherhood to be to his liking, when the mother of 2 year old Bonnie drops her off with her daddy. Dylan is so excited to see her there that he hugs her to him. But the bad times are hitting home, his father is running things into the ground and he has to go home. When Dylan is with his daughter nothing matters, but when he goes to the library with her he meets Kristy Madison. The town librarian is having the time of her life reading to small children. When in comes tall, dark, and handsome Dylan Creed. But there are some complications in this little town like how Kristy has to be convinced to give him a chance. And then there is also his family problems which he finds are not so troublesome when you have someone to talk to. Kristy already loves his daughter, so what's the problem with this relationship? I don't know you have to read it to find out.

Title/Author: Juliet Immortal by Stacy Jay Juliet Immortal (Juliet Immortal, #1) by Stacey Jay

Shelf: Free Space

Date Finished: September 24, 2012

Rating: 5 stars

Review: Juliet is immortal with no body and her Romeo is the one who is trying to destroy her. Through out the ages Juliet has been trying to save love and Romeo is trying to destroy it. During the time when they are called to inhabit a body and save those who love with a passion. But as the school day is coming Ariel the body that Juliet is put into is trying to keep things together when she is on a date with the local bad boy of the school. Shockingly enough the boy Ariel/Juliet is on a date with is Dylan Stroud. While running away from an accident Ariel caused Juliet is persued by her very famous lover of so long ago. That is where she meets Ben. It's like damsel in distress all over again. But it ends to quickly with Ariel/Juliet back home. Her best friend is a sociopath with very dangerous tendencies gives her a ride to school. But everything just goes downhill from there: first Ariel/Juliet get into fights with the people closest to her, then with Ben the love of her life, and then Romeo does something so unexpected; I can't even tell you. In the end everything is as Juliet wants it to be with a little realities mixed in.

By the way I am so going to read Romeo Redeemed by Stacy Jay Romeo Redeemed (Juliet Immortal #2) by Stacey Jay , I don't know why I never picked these books up in the first place.

AH | 2271 comments 9/25/12 - Finished my Favorite Author Shelf Read.
Reflected in You by Sylvia Day - 4 stars

Oh, Eva! Oh, Gideon! Oh, the angst! These two are smoking hot when they are together. This is definitely one of those guilty pleasure reads and an enjoyable way to pass a rainy weekend.
This book picks up right after
Bared to You and continues the on again/off again affair of Eva and Gideon. The relationship matures a little and more is revealed about their backgrounds. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one.

Shelf: Favorite Author

Review:
Wow! This book had Jo at her best and at her worst. I loved that she didn't wait for the guys to show up and fight her battles, I also loved how David's priorities shifted and how furious he became when she was harmed.

message 109: by AH (new)

AH | 2271 comments Oh, I love that series. I usually read 1 or 2 of the books for bookshelf Bingo.

message 110: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments have you read all of them?

message 111: by AH (new)

AH | 2271 comments No, I think I am up to the 5th book. I met Rachel Caine 2 weeks ago at the Smart Chicks Kick it tour. She's so sweet - I am really waiting on the 3rd Revivalist book.

message 112: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments awww she is? yeah, haven't started that series yet. Any good?

message 113: by AH (new)

AH | 2271 comments It's different from her other series, more sci-fi/conspiracy thriller. People are made into zombies by a special drug that keeps them revived and there is a big pharma that supplies the drug and makes lots of money. Also a few very paranoid characters too. It would make an awesome TV series.

message 114: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments yep, sounds like tv material!

Carlyn | 466 comments Three Fates by Nora Roberts

Shelf: Favourite Author
Rating: ★★★★★
Finished: 28/09/12

I have roughly 160 Nora books but this one is still my absolute favourite. From the fantastic characters, legends, mystery and action it ticks all the boxes in my book.
The story is all about a search for three silver statues depicting the fates and if they are together they are priceless.
I really cannot recommend this book enough!

Amelia (ald1224) | 33 comments Shadow Walker (Stormwalker, #3) by Allyson James
Shelf: Favorite Author
Rating: 4.5 STARS
Date Finished: 9/29/12

OMG! I don't know where to start, so much happened in this third book of the Stormwalker series. It was so suspenseful, I couldn't put it down. Janet's story continues with the same characters: her dragon boyfriend Mick, Magic Mirror, Coyote the god, Sheriff Nash, a couple of shifters, more dragons and a few witches. Nice mix, right?!?!? This story focuses on the crazy wicked witch who enslaves Janet's dragon boyfriend, who she must save before he kills her! This book so far is my favorite of the series.

Yes, some of the jokes were expected but I think sometimes you need a book like that. I hope Akeldama finds someone too but I didn't like the ease with which he got over Biffy!

Hope this is long enough. Thanks, AH

AH | 2271 comments Finished my FREE space read -
The Shattered Dark - 3.5 stars

I loved The Shadow Reader and was so excited to get a copy of The Shattered Dark to read. I was a little disappointed at first, because I thought The Shattered Dark moved a little slow. Perhaps it was my copy of the book - not a final edition, or maybe just my mood. In any case, I continued reading and I'm glad I did. The second half of the book had non-stop action, battle scenes, all sorts of fae mischief and betrayal as well as some nastiness from their human counterparts.
There is also a love story here and McKenzie makes a choice (sort of). Not going into those details to keep from spoiling.

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Thanks! :D

I'm looking through what I've read/currently reading to figure what I can use for the called shelves...so I can get caught up. :)

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Okay...that didn't take long.

I was lucky a couple people shelved Bound by Flame as UF...

Free Space: The Kingdom
KAH: Some Girls Bite
Favorite Author: TBD
UF: Bound by Flame

The Kingdom (Graveyard Queen #2) by Amanda Stevens Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill Bound by Flame (The Dark Crescent Sisterhood, #2) by Anna Windsor

====

I'm currently reading Bound by Flame. I will probably follow it up with The Kingdom and then Some Girls Bite. I'll have to get back with you on the favorite author.

Luckily, I will be off Friday through Monday. Lots of reading time. I do have a reservation to see Arsenic and Old Lace at our community theater (Sunday) and at some point I must get groceries. :D I'm going to do my darnedest to catch us up quickly.
