I don't know because I'm not on that often because of work. But if me not being on the computer doesn't matter to you guys then yea I'd be team captain.

Midu Hadi | 1732 comments Book: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine #1) by Ransom Riggs by Ransom Riggs
Shelf: Free Space
Rating: ***
Date Read: 18-09-12
Review:
It began as any horror movie would with a handful of creepy photogs and a delusional grandparent. I liked this book a lot, even as the horror gave way to fantasy and humor. Some things did feel to be solved too easily and I guess, that's why I'm rating it 3 stars. A little Enid Blytonish.

Carlyn | 466 comments Karma Girl (Bigtime, #1) by Jennifer Estep
Shelf: Kick ass heroine
Rating: ★★★★★
Finished:18/09/12

A great story full of laughs, action and comic book heroes!
When Carmen finds her best friend sleeping with her fiance a half hour before the wedding she is not only shocked by this she is also stunned to find out that they are the towns resident superhero and ubervillian! Every town and city has a least one so she gets her revenge by revealing their identities.
This takes her to Bigtime which has some of the most famous superheroes and ubervillians in the world. During her search for their identities her world gets turned upside down!
Fantastic characters, witty banter, mystery and action makes this one a series to look out for. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

AH | 2271 comments 9/18/12 - Devil's Bargain - 3.5 stars
Kick-ass Heroine shelf

Devil’s Bargain is a thriller with a touch of the paranormal. It has two kick-ass heroines: the ex-cop Jasmine (Jazz) Callendar and Lucia Garza, the beautiful former special agent for the OSI. Both are brought together by a mysterious offer from James Borden a lawyer for Gabriel, Pike & Laskins. Both women are oddly well-suited to work together. Once they agree to work for Borden, mysterious red envelopes begin to arrive at their detective agency. The envelopes contain cryptic instructions to observe or photograph a target.

Readers of Ms. Caine’s new Revivalist series will be pleased to notice two characters in this book: Manny Glickman and Pansy Taylor. Manny is the same paranoid security and computers expert however we learn why he is so very paranoid. A truly horrible experience. Pansy is the same take-charge keep everyone around her sane and organized type.

Intriguing concept will appeal to readers who enjoy conspiracy thrillers.

Carlyn | 466 comments Archangel's Storm (Guild Hunter, #5) by Nalini Singh
Shelf: Free Space
Finished: 19/09/12
Rating: ★★★★★

I love the world of angel's and vampires that Nalini has created. The characters are so brilliant and complex that you get pulled into the story and intrench yourself in the characters.
Jason has been Archangel Raphael's trusted spymaster and one of his Seven for a long time and when he is called to another Archangel's territory to uncover a murderer he meets Princess Mahiya he is intrigued and puzzled by the woman who pulls him.
One of the best urban fantasy series' around and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) WOW ... I didn't realize I haven't been on here lately. I think I just check in and that was it. I like the name! I am not a good candidate for captain. I don't get to get on here everyday. I will be reading Full Moon Rising (Riley Jenson Guardian, #1) by Keri Arthur for the "free space" shelf. I need to crack down on these books ... I see that several of you have already finished BOTH shelves!

Amelia (ald1224) | 33 comments Stormwalker 4 Stars Kickass Herione
Finished 9/19/2012
Liked it from page one! It was great, exciting, awesome characters, easy to follow and a great story line. Janet is a Stormwalker who can use and control storms. Her mother is an evil goddess who wants to use their powers together to control everything and let the ugly dangers from Beneath take over. The characters include an awesome talking Magic Mirror who I loved, a dragon for a boyfriend, a god coyote friend, a changer who's a mountain lion, a sheriff who's an unbeliever and a missing girl. It was a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Can't wait to read the next one!

Review: To think Riley had enough problems is an understatement. But add kidnapped in the middle of heading home from a specialist's office; that's just bad luck. When Riley wakes up in the middle of an alley way, she finds that she is with a dead man, whom she killed. And the beasts that are after her are not fun at all. Riley tries to hide in a barn with a bunch of horseshifters and ends up escaping with some of them, one of them being Kade Williams. Looks like Riley has found another partner (Wink Wink if you know what I mean). They get rescued but whoever is after Kade and Riley are not going to give up. Riley finds out some really important information about herself and starts playing the field of lovers. But what will she do with all the people after her? What will she decides with the information given to her by the doctor? And will Riley let Quinn back in after all the brush offs?

Review:
Where do I even begin? Chrysabelle blames Mal for everything. Doc never uses his head. Tatiana doesn't know when to give up. Needless secondary characters added to the story. Guessed the big reveal before it happened. And no romance at all!

Review :

The story continues with Janet the Stormwalker, her dragon boyfriend Mick, Coyote the god, Magic Mirror, Sheriff Nash the unbeliever, who now believes in more than he wants to admit to and several other new characters. One thing leads to another and Janet's asked to help solve a murder; meanwhile the dragon council wants her dead, she's trying to find undead Jim, Maya wants her to sneak off to Vegas for some fun, she's kidnapped, buried, completely blindsided all while still trying to run her newly refurbished hotel. It's a fun read, good story, exciting adventures, great romance and it leaves you wanting more. I didn't want to put it down. Looking forward to continuing this series!
