I'm reading this at the moment, with some 40 pages left, and so far it's brilliant. It's about Iceland in the 1820s, very atmospheric, interesting story and quite nicely paced, not too fast. "cool, dark setting like misty moors, isolated village" - tick! A sense of the passing of time - definitely tick! (and you'll see why if you read it).
