These are the books that I couldn't muddle through, even though I wanted to. I tried very hard to finish them but I finally gave up.

message 1: by Kaytlin (new)

Kaytlin some books should never get made but everyone likes differnt stuff so we really cant judge the book like i realy dont like some non fiction i like mysteries and realistic fiction

message 2: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Unfortunately, a few books on here are classic literature. Maybe that says something about where the future of literature is headed.

message 4: by Linda (new)

Linda I'd like to add this one to the list!

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads The form to add books to the list is over at the right-hand side of the page.

message 6: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin Briann okay how is 'Twilight' and 'Breaking Dawn' so bad that you couldnt finish it?????/

Mike (the Paladin) These lists all end up the same in some ways as there are books on here I like and we all dislike different books.

For me they were so bad I didn't even start them! (kidding!! just not my thing, really, so I won't even bother.)

message 9: by Cass (new)

Cass I think I got halfway through "Twilight" and felt (IMO) that not much had REALLY happened. It just wasn't my thing. Also, I'm not into the whole vampire phase/fad that everyone seems to be into, so I knew what I was getting into. I tried, it didn't work for me.

People have different tastes.

message 10: by Breigh (new)

Breigh I think if you'll check out the best and worst lists, you'll find quite a few identical names. Coincidence?
Also, a lot of these books I've either read, or heard they were good... Perchance expectations ruined it? These don't really reflect the WORST books, but the worst POPULAR books.

message 11: by Mike (the Paladin) (last edited Jun 28, 2010 08:06AM) (new)

Mike (the Paladin) Hi Snickers, I don't know...I used to be almost obsessive about finishing books once I'd started them. I suspect some of it may be a function of age. As I got older I realized my "reading time" was limited and became more willing to throw a book across the room after a certain point (and I can name several books and even one series I finished that I wish I had "flung").

Oh well...I wish for you mostly good books that don't "trap you". :)

message 12: by Daylighter (new)

Daylighter Caitlin wrote: "okay how is 'Twilight' and 'Breaking Dawn' so bad that you couldnt finish it?????/"

i can understand why someone might not be able to finish Breaking Dawn! the book was so bad i wanted to throw it against a wall when i finished reading it.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads There's a Wallbangers list!

Why the hell is Jane Eyre and Breaking Dawn on this list? The Host suits it
No.....it wasn't. If so then you have a pathetic taste in books. Twilight was actually very good.

message 15: by Basma (new)

Basma Some of the books on here are great like 3 of them....but everybody has different taste.........

message 16: by Diana (new)

Diana I like list like this one because it shows everyone's opinion on books; like I rated 2 books on the list 5 stars but I totally understand why others might not have liked them.
And I forced myself to finish most books just because I already wasted my time on the beginning I figured I might as well finish; and a few I might have been close to tears they were so bad.

message 17: by Sarah (new)

Sarah M Ummm Jane Eyre, seriously? Can't even believe it made this list.

message 18: by TheWellReadLady (new)

TheWellReadLady Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Dune, The Lord of the Flies, The Book Thief? What??!! Er, The Diary of Anne Frank? - are you kidding me, it's a diary for crying out loud and most definitely shouldn't be on this list.
I voted for 'Wicked' and 'The Almost Moon'.

Maybe they couldn't finish The Diary of a young girl because it was too much for them to handle? It is a very sad book.

message 20: by Anna (new)

Anna Okay Vampire Academy should NOT be on here!

message 21: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn Wow, I couldn't believe people could actually NOT like Memoirs of a Geisha. It's the BEST historical fiction novel ever written in my opinion. People were writing Arthur Golden and asking him is Sayuri was a real girl it was so well done!

message 22: by Kristie (new)

Kristie Seeing that Diary of A Wimpy Kid is on this list is just dumb. It's a kids series for goodness sakes.

message 23: by Oskar (new)

Oskar Le What is the point of this list anyway? "Hurr durr i want to read but cant because of these books?"
