C-tim Only 3 by Chris Moore in the top 100. What's with that?

message 2: by iyah_khin (new)

iyah_khin great list! very interesting!

message 3: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Lots of things to look for, here. I'd rather have a list of the first volumes of a bunch of different series, but I found several that were new to me. Thanks!

message 4: by Lily (last edited Jan 13, 2011 07:46PM) (new)

Lily Loved the list. I already read many of these hopefully others can add more so i can seek them out and enjoy them as well.

message 5: by Jim (last edited Mar 02, 2011 07:59AM) (new)

Jim I really enjoyed the list but I wish there were more books in it...I have almost finished the whole list so if anyone could recommend other booksn or lists like this, I'd appreciate it.

message 9: by Tasula (new)

Tasula I thought this was a list of HUMOROUS paranormal books. Lots of good books listed, but less than 10% IMO are humorous except for a few brief moments.

message 10: by Tasula (new)

Tasula I added some books I thought were really humorous (rather than having a touch of humor):
Acosta, Marta Happy Hour at Casa Dracula
Bodner, Hal Bite Club
Lewis, J F Stake
Martinez, A Lee Gil's All Fright Diner (may alread be on list)
Any Christopher Moore or Terry Pratchett (discworld) book.

message 12: by Derya (new)

Derya The Sookie Stackhouse books are fun to read, that's for sure. =)

message 13: by Susan (new)

Susan I thought the list was for paranormal HUMOR, not romance/erotica.

Some of it is hysterically funny even when it does not mean to be funny! Even the names can be too silly.

Christain Vampirella wrote: "The Sookie Stackhouse books are fun to read, that's for sure. =)"

yuppp there the best way to get out of life

message 16: by Victoria (new)

Victoria This list seems to have drifted rather far from it's purpose. However paranormal, the Black Dagger Brotherhood books are NOT funny, nor are they intended to be so by the author. Neither is the Kitty Norville series. I like both of these and many other books listed here, but they are NOT intended to be humorous. Can somebody start another list, say, Intense, erotic paranormal? Lots of these books would belong there, rather than here.

message 17: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I was really excited for this list, but there are soooo many not humorous books on here!!! There are some good ones for sure, but the list really needs to be cleaned up. There are even some non-paranormal books on here too.

How do these lists get cleaned up, anyway? Aargh.

I understand...that is why I started the various lists on DJ group site. I have a humor list but not a paranormal humor. I could start one, if you like.

message 19: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Oh Mel, that would be great, and I'm sure we could all help out!! Your lists have been so helpful! I'm always looking for a little humor to throw in every once in a while, and love the paranormal twist sometimes! ;-)

message 20: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Sorry, Mel, but "DJ group site" is too obscure a reference for me. Translate for an old lady, please?:)

message 21: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Aha! Further research indicates the "DJ" referred to is Darynda Jones. Great! The library finally found a copy of First Grave on the Right for me and I'll start on it later today.

message 22: by Carly (new)

Carly I love The Undead series by MaryJanice Davidson,
The Sookie Stackhouse Mystery Series by Charlaine Harris, The Immortality Bites Series by Michelle Rowen.

These are all very unique, and funny paranormal romance series. Worth a read.

I'm curious about Lynsand Sands books, but i'm not sure if i'll like them..

message 23: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Removed Confessions of a Shopaholic as it is not paranormal and therefore not in keeping with the list.

message 24: by Simon (new)

Simon Okill for the most fun read Nobody Loves a Bigfoot Like a Bigfoot Babe. It's so way out funny like the worst thing the Broken Lizards could think of.

message 25: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Ziko The books i voted for r the ones that had me laughing so hard i had to put the book down!

message 26: by Anne (new)

Anne Carlisle Jim wrote: "I really enjoyed the list but I wish there were more books in it...I have almost finished the whole list so if anyone could recommend other booksn or lists like this, I'd appreciate it."

Try The Siren's Tale

I really agree with u their the sandman slim series should be added and more chris moore and fred the mermaid is awesome too

message 28: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey I love a lot of these books, but I don't think many of them are particularly humorous?

message 29: by Aakanshya (new)

Aakanshya me too

message 30: by Terrence (new)

Terrence Do books starring the Devil / something from the underworld coming to Earth count as Paranormal? These are some fun comedies:

For younger folk:

The Devil is a Part-Timer Light Novel, Vol. 1 (The Devil is a Part-Timer Light Novel, #1) by Satoshi Wagahara

For an older crowd (mostly for cursing language):

The Weirdness by Jeremy P. Bushnell

There's also a lot of hilarious supernatural manga.

I assume it has to be grounded in the real (Earthly) world with some fantastical entity entering the fray to be supernatural instead of fantasy where it takes place in an alternate world?

message 31: by Danielle (last edited Jan 23, 2017 11:59AM) (new)

Danielle T I love Molly Harper. If you read m/m, Charlie Cochet's "Thirds" series is amazing Hell & High Water and so is Eli Easton's "Howl at the Moon" series How to Howl at the Moon. Both are very funny.

message 32: by Rose (new)

Rose The Bewitched and Bewildered series is crazy funny.

message 33: by Julie (new)

Julie Harden Almost all of Christopher Moore's books would rank in my top 20 - I love his books (well, except Sacred Blue...still can't get past the 1st chapter).
And if you like Christopher Moore (especially Bite Me, You Suck, and Bloodsucking Fiends), then I think you'll love Drew Hayes and his Fred the Vampire seriers: The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, The Vampire Accountant; Undeath and Taxes; and Bloody Acquisitions.
These books are hilarious and fun, with great character development and rich writing. I am impatiently waiting for book 4.
