Ashley and I will have a spreadsheet tab for the mini added to the tracking sheet for people to claim slots soon. In the meantime, if you're reading a book or planning on reading a book that will fit one of the slots, feel free to comment in this thread to "claim" that slot. We'll have a column in the spreadsheet to list what other categories in the mini it might fit, if we need to shuffle things around, so try to remember if your book might fit other categories as you're reading it too.
My book Ruthless Vows will work for black writing on the cover, but I'm pretty sure one of the characters was just drinking whiskey and they were walking through an apple orchard at one point too.
Trio - no worries if you forget to put things on your UNO shelf! I will continue to remind you!!! (Hopefully in an un-annoyingly way). I'm guessing we all will do it at least a couple of times before the challenge is over.
Andy - I looked at your book and thought it was blue! But then I put the cover through tin eye and it said that the area I thought was blue was really half blue and half green. So I don't think it is going to work, but we'll see what Ashley says - and hope that I'm wrong again....
Yay! the mini is out!!! This is the most fun time of the month, in my opinion. I love figuring out which books on my TBR are going to rise to the top to be read soon...

This past week was kind of busy at work and I didn't get in as much reading as usual, but I have the next week off. I did finish Geekerella, another YA rom com, which I enjoyed but not as much as See You Yesterday.
I started Ruthless Vows and plan to read that as well as Where the Forest Meets the Stars
and The Bodyguard this upcoming week.
I'm guessing the mini challenge criteria will come out soon, so I may hold off on finishing any of these books until then in hopes that they'll work for something related to that.
How are you all doing?

Next up is Ruthless Vows. And I will also read Where the Forest Meets the Stars soon.
I've read Dark Matter and enjoyed it, but haven't gotten to Recursion yet...maybe I'll get to read it for a colored card in March or April....

Thank you Cris and Trio for adding the dates in - those books have been verified!
Trio I have one more for you though. The spreadsheet has a read date by Winter Oranges, which I can't find on your UNO list or your read list. But I do see Are You There Moriarty, so I'm wondering if the read date just got put on the wrong line in the spreadsheet and the Moriarty book is the one you've finished?

I need one thing from you Cris, for our records. When I look at your UNO shelf the start date is blank - can you fill that in? Thank you!

Edit - I figured out another way to look at it and see that your start date is Feb 1st. So I just need the end date added. I think it is a Goodreads-ism that I couldn't see the exact start day the original way I looked at it.

Edit - I figured out another way to look at it and see that your end date is Feb 1st. So I just need the start date fixed.

But to answer your question, you can start populating the bottom part of the spreadsheet with books once you know you are going to read them with as much info as you have then. Then as you're reading, update with any more info you learn and put in your finish date. If you end up DNF'ing a book, just erase that line from the spreadsheet.
If you're having trouble with the spreadsheet and it is easier you can post a completion post here with the following information - name/author of book (with link to book if possible), what categories it fits, and your finish date. I'll then transfer the info to the spreadsheet.
I will be looking at everyone's books and making sure you remember to put them on your UNO shelf, making sure start and end dates fall within the correct time period, the book has enough pages, etc. And Ashley will be puzzling all the books into our hands on the official team spreadsheet after they're verified. I'll speak up here if I need you to clarify something about a book and Ashley will let us know if there's a particular card we need more of, especially near the end. You can also snoop on the official spreadsheet to see which numbers we need more of if you're debating between a couple of books.
Hopefully this all makes sense! Let me know if it just raised more questions. ;)

It's been a while (I'm due for re-reads) but I would have to say Garden Spells! The Girl Who Chased the M..."
Thank you! I will check them out. :)

Well, I say I don't read fantasy, but I just read The Unma..."
Maybe it's magical realism you like? I also liked June Farrow, but liked Spells for Forgetting even more.

I haven't read any of his Stormlight Archive, but I feel like I've only heard positive reviews and hope to get to The Way of Kings this year, but each of the books in this series are 1000 pages long. I didn't care for The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England as much as most people (it was my least favorite of his that I've read) but I don't always appreciate that type of humor. Warbreaker I enjoyed, but Mistborn was better. There are still several I haven't read, so there may be other really good ones out there....but I recommend starting with Mistborn. :)
