88432 Hated The Notebook by Nicolas Sparks - such fake dialogue. Won't read anything else by him.

88432 I haven't read it - yet - but my 11-year old daughter is on the second book and just saw the movie. She liked it, thought a little scary, but the book's pace was better.

88432 I read this earlier on a recommendation. Not sure if I'll get to the rest of the series, but if I come across the second book I may continue.

Planning on reading it this fall! Love Stephen King but haven't read much of his lately.
88432 Got my copy! Excited to start reading and check out the discussions! Thank you!

88432 Loved this book! One of my favorites. Glad you're getting to read it! I want to read his other books to see how they compare.

And true.

Scott wrote: "I too loved this book and actually was surprised that it didnt sadden me as much as others. I tend to be more emotionally invested when terrible things happen to characters doing or striving to do..."

I agree.
88432 I like the lighthouse cover and also the rocks/water imagery. Really takes you to the place of the novel. I loved it too and felt so much for Isabel, anyone who wants a child so much not to have one is heart-breaking. I thought it was well-written and will also love this novel for a long time.

88432 I just finished A Discovery of Witches and would recommend if you like that genre. I thought the writing was good. I also read The Magicians and thought it was pretty good too. I may continue with the series if I come across the titles.

Fault had to go back to the library - too many books, now I'm #178 again. But my 5th grade daughter got to read it. She said she only cried at the end.

Finished A Discovery of Witches. Now reading Stones from the River.
