LOVED this book!! I rated it the best book of 2013 for me and the most interesting book I have read in a long time. There was so much to discuss and think about.

Yep, like the old joke (that isn't really a joke) about Harry Potter being on every list. Crazy.
8565 I've got this one, lol. I swear 75% of the books that I read lately are debut novels. Here are the ones that I know I have on tap for October:

The Boleyn King
The Bookstore
The Silent Wife

I'm sure there are more, and there are several I would like to read, just looking at the list. So we will see what I end up with.

8565 Those are great one liners, Tara. I can just see the petulant look on Nikolai's face.

8565 Wow, you are a reading machine this month, Susan. How many books have you read this month??

BTW - this last book is a great one. Chris Bohjalian is one of my favorite authors. I have read several of his books and they were all 4 and 5 star reads for me.

8565 Wow, three lists of 10, Susan. That is really quite a goal. I would be happy if I just got ONE list of 10 done in a year.

Those are great, Susan. I especially like the ones about cowboys and gangsters. Something that is certainly true, but that you never think about.

Welcome to the challenge, Gemma. Glad to see you here. Like everyone above has said, whatever books you read and clear off the list is a good thing. I have done this challenge every year and have yet to finish my list, lol. I think I have only read one book each year, but then everyone knows that any books I own become "orphans" as I am always thinking I can get to them later.

You have some great books on your list. My favorites there are Grapes of Wrath, Fahrenheit 451, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and The Alchemist.

This looks fascinating. I may have to add this book to my list.

Great quote, Lynn. This is another book that I have been trying to get to. Your quote makes me want to bump it up the list.

8565 Susan - I love Dan Brown's books and pre-ordered this one, unfortunately, it is sitting here while I spend a bunch of time reading borrowed books...I have to get to it soon.

8565 Wow, Tien - those are some great books. I have Freedom to read myself, and Gone Girl is one of my best books from last year.
8565 So many good books on this list. The following fit challenges, so hopefully I will get one in:

Divergent
A Game of Thrones
The Shining Girls
The Last Song

Life After Life is the most thought provoking, and probably best, book I've read in a long time. Certainly the best of 2013 so far.
