In the past month we added 2 exotic shorthair kittens to our family. They are litter mates - Agador and Armand. We love them oodles. They are hilarious! Mike has started calling our older cat Sofia the evil step sister, because she doesn't like them very well.

Baby Jayci went home with Mama last night. Her big brother Max is so proud of her!

Lots of dark hair - I think her eyes will be brown. :). I'm excited to get back up there.

Exciting news in my world - I now have a niece!!!! Jayci Jo was born at 8:00 pm on 8/7. She's perfect! 7 lbs 10.8 oz and 21" long. Sooooo excited!

Awesome - thank you Petra! I know I will love it, but it's totally all over the place right now. I have it on my nook, but I may need it as a physical book. Eve. If it's over 1000 pages.

I'm working on Infinite Jest - I like it, but I'm only about 7% in and am already confused. Any strategies for this one?

And I don't have an iPad - mike and the kids do, but it's different than being mine.

Oh my. Now I have to look at the sale...the 2013 fire hd is $129 at best buy. And I found a case I love.

Liz, your review made me laugh. And honestly, that's how I felt about the Outlander books that I am WAY in the minority here! But we are all allowed our own thoughts and feelings on the books - thank goodness!

I find the overdrive versions to be a bit clunkier to deal with than the kindle library books. I have a book that uses the overdrive and I prefer my kindle. I still haven't made up my mind yet...keeps bouncing from one to the other. I may have to go visit them at best buy again and see.

The thing that's really making me hesitate is that the fire is only $20 more than the paper white at best buy this week....so I'm debating. Online the price difference is about $100, so it's making me think.

I'm just starting my vacation and have started the organizing as well! It feels so good when it's done...

I agree - there certainly don't seem to be any middle of the road thoughts on this one.

Hello all - nothing like a middle of the night bout of insomnia to get me catching up and adding to my TBR!
I finished The Book of Life today - loved this last book in the Discovery of Witches trilogy but I'm still hoping for more! There is a lot left for these characters.
I just started A Grimm Warning - this is the 3rd book in the Land of Stories series, and I read these with my daughter. (Well, I read it first, then she reads it and we discuss.)
There are a few books I've been dabbling in - but haven't gotten hooked. I'm just starting my summer vacation, so hoping I can get some good reading in.

I don't do audio books unless I'm on a long road trip, then they are on cd from the library, so that doesn't deter me. I wouldn't have thought to look at that. Thanks for the feedback!
I'm quite sad about my k2 though. :(. It's been a friend.

My K2 broke. :(. I'm looking at new ones. Thoughts on basic vs paper white vs fire?

I really enjoyed The Book of Negroes. It's a strong story but I don't think I connected with it the ..."I agree with you - I thought it was a good book, but it was suggested after I'd read Cutting for Stone and was totally blown away, and then
Someone Knows My Name was just meh in comparison. Good - well written - and also another story that I had no idea existed (the British recruited slaves to fight in the Revolutionary War?!? I had no idea). But I didn't love it.

I'm horrified and reading like a rubber-necker! I can understand the building logistics - the building I work in is connected to our parking garage at only 1 point and without elevators the task of moving the patients is daunting. But why weren't more of the family members hoveled up in the hospital helping?!? It seems that the able bodied outnumbered patients by about 10 to 1. So why weren't they helping?!? Where was common decency? That's what gets me.
