While this is a great idea, yes. The alternates can be anything you want of read. This one is about reducing our personal TBR's. I for one can get so focused on reading group books, I end up ignoring what is on my shelf.
I could probably get up from this laptop and round up 40+ books all published after 1999. Most of those books I call "brain candy." They are not literature and will never be considered classic. They are, for me just fun reads by authors like. Nevada Barr, Stuart Woods. Lee Child, Clive Cussler, and several others.
This Buffet challenge allows one to participate in a group activity and get credit for eating a lot of deserts.
