Welcome again, join in anytime.

I read The Westing Game for Bingo a couple of years ago. Others I am familiar with Portis, Follett, Rutherfurd, and Byatt are all good. Enjoy, have fun.

Nice plan and excellent selections. One that stands out is an old favorite, Watership Down, I read it back in 1976 or 77 can’t remember exactly. I always think of it fondly, maybe someday I’ll reread it. Enjoy your challenge.

Welcome to the Buffet. I hope you enjoy your challenges.

Excellent list. Two I’ve read and several are on my TBR, can’t wait to hear what you have to say about them, especially The Reivers.

Matt wrote: "Your challenge motivates me to want to read more . Very impressive list."Matt add another dish or two. I have as much fun planning as I do reading, I try not to worry about finishing.
Terry wrote: "Shogun was definitely a great read and you may find it goes faster than you might think."I think Sara first clued me onto Shogun last year. I listed it and others on my Second Place or Worse challenge. I chose the Kristin Lavransdatter trilogy instead. I'll read it this year for sure. It is good to know it reads fast, that’s always a worry when picking up a brick, thanks.

Challenge #1 is the only challenge that is not allowed to change after the challenge starts on 1/1/23. It is designed to reduce our personal TBR’s, not allowing changes gently forces us to read books that have been sitting on our TBR’s for a long time. A book on our TBR is something we have interest in but may not like it enough to finish. This is why we allow three alternates. It is a safeguard to help people finish the challenge and still reduce the many books that have been waiting for attention. By the way this is an honor system deal, no one will know if changes are made.

Sara, I plan to make a start on
Shōgun in January, fingers crossed. Based on the posts so far,
So Long, See You Tomorrow is not a book I currently own, but rather that risk a trip to the woodshed I will start my search for a copy. Looks like a busy January.

Welcome to the Buffet, Stace. Enjoy!!

Nice century list, glad you are trying a couple of entrees.

I hope you enjoy your challenges.

Good luck on finishing such large lists. It does give one plenty of reading choices.
Annette wrote: "It is fun to read through your lists, Bob; I get lots of great ideas. And thanks, too, for setting up the Buffet."Thanks Annette, setting up the Buffet is one of the group activities I enjoy most,
Sue wrote: "You have taken on quite bit again this year, Bob. I'm so glad that you put So Long, See You Tomorrow on one of yours. I need to get that on one of my challenges before I forget about it."Terris wrote: "Looks like you're going to have quite an exciting year of reading, Bob! Especially when you add in books like So Long, See You Tomorrow, as Sue mentioned above. Maxwell is such a beaut..."Sue, I have no chance to finish all my selections, but for me the planning and watching others progress is more fun than finishing.
Terris, I have never read Maxwell. I was working to fill out my year challenge and just looking for books I thought would be interesting. Between you and Sue, it seems a must to make it one of my five challenge reads. Thanks!
Lynn wrote: "Good luck Bob. I am glad to see you excited about the challenge. Everyone else seems to like it too!"Thanks Lynn, everything seems to be going well. Fingers crossed everyone finds something to enjoy.

Great start, you can never go wrong with Nevil Shute. I hope you like Ruth, I found it excellent.

I'm glad you like the categories for challenge #4, good luck and happy reading.

Robynne, welcome to the buffet. I like your categories for challenge #9. Enjoy!
