Hi Tammy: I'm going to have to disallow the Combo points for this book. You've already claimed Combo points for the Flashlight Worthy task (10.7) using the "Best Classic Sci-Fi" list. The rule for this task states that the same list has to be used throughout this challenge.

It is about Jeffrey Dahmer, but the way she writes it, it Also shows what it was like to write this book from the reporter's perspective. Because she was basically the first reporter on the case, it follows her career through this time. A great deal of it has more to do with her job and what she went through than just covering Jeffrey Dahmer.
No worries if you don't want to allow it though!
"
Thanks for the extra explanation. I'll allow it!

Thanks for the catch in message 402. I should have read the debate on the challenge first...I just posted and claimed combo points for the Kitchen house, which takes place on a tobacco plantation in the South, does that work?..."
I'll let Sam make the call about tobacco. I think it fits the spirit of the task. But I was way off base earlier with "Catcher in the Rye", so I'm leaving that ruling to the task expert. :-)
As luck would have it, I just added this title to my TBR pile earlier today. (And got my name added to the Hold queue for it at the library.) How did you like the book BTW?
I was going to claim Combo points for Task 10.4, One Hit Wonder since it's the author's only published book to date.
So, I'm adding 5 points to the your scoring of The Kitchen House.

I'm disqualifying the claiming of Task 10.6 for Combo points. Task 10.6 is supposed to be a memoir about what someone does for a living. That doesn't seem to fit the bill for this book. Is this book about what it was like to write this book from the reporter's perspective? It looks like it's about Jeffrey Dahlmer, and that would't qualify as a memoir. If I've misunderstood what the book is about, let me know and I'll add the points back in.

I LOVE this series. This is the second book, and I think it's probably better to start with the first, as a number of the characters are more developed in the first novel (the author doesn't spend a lot of time fleshing them out in the second, since that was done in the first). As soon as I was finished I went out & bought book #3."
Thanks for the info. It's on my TBR pile. I'll start with the first book in the series. It sounds like a great series. Ah, so many books.... so little time. :-)

Hi Miss GP: This book looked interesting to me so I started reading the Goodreads blurb about the author. It mentiones that some of her books are published under different titles in the UK/Canada and the US. I did a little more digging uncovered that THIS book was published as "Dead Cold" in the UK and Canada.
So....that means you also earn Combo point for Task 10.9: Coralie's "Also Known As".

Welcome to the Reading with Style Challenge Tammy. Glad to have you join us!
This points posting looks really good. The only think I saw that I needed more information about was for Task 20.7. When claiming points for this task we ask that you also provide the country the author is from and the book's original publication year. That saves me some research time when posting the points.
All in all, you did a great job for your first post.
Thanks! -Krista
