Rhymezone provides air, bare, etc as rhymes for Eyre. And if I find them, I'm keeping the winning powerball numbers to myself, thank you very much. :P "

Hey, I'd share with YOU if I won. :-)

I've been filling out my Spring Challenge plan of attack off and on for the last three days. I have a stack of books that are slated for the Spring Challenge sitting on th hassock in my family room. It's all I can do to keep my hands of them. I do have two more books I'm trying to finish up for Winter -- so I should be concentrating on those. But it's just so fun to do the planning!

I'm bound and determined that I'm going to at least finish the Spring Cleaning tasks this time. It's nice that we don't have to read the books for Spring Cleaning in any particular order. That's what slowed me down on BtE.

That is so cool! I just have to ask for something, and poof -- it's provided. It's like having a magic genie. Thanks Elzabeth. Now, if I asked for the winning Powerball numbers do you think you could hook me up?

I think he said 'air' -- although with the British accent it's still a trifle iffy. But I'm going with 'Air'.

The Eyre Affair here we come for Task 20.2!

I wonder if Liz has a cool link to a pronunciation website.

36119 Hmmm -- I always pronounced it as 'Air', but I could be wrong....

Wonderful. Now I'll have to go change me vote at the poll to help make sure this task gets included in for the Spring challenge.

Hi Rebekah:
Your starting point total is off by 5 points.

785 = Starting Point Total (not 790 as you used)
+25 Task Total for this book
810 = Adjusted Grand Total

Good luck with the seasickness as you travel to Germany. May you have smooth sailing from here on out.

So I'll just loose the 10 style points off of 15.2 and have 10 less points.

Hi Rhea:
Okay, I've changed your traveler type to "Air". I had your starting point total at 1165 (not 1135 as you show above.)

1165 + 5 (net points) = 1170

Adjusted Grand Total = 1170

Let me know if you think my starting point total of 1165 is off. Thanks!

Congratulations on completing the whole enchilada!

You guys who finish the whole challenge amaze me every quarter. I strive to get there, but never quite make it. Oh well, there's always the next challenge to look forward to.

Thanks Elizabeth. I saw that Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly was on that list. Has anyone read this yet? (I had it slated for the time-travel task for Winter, but ran out of .... time.)

From the blurb it didn't sound like a scientist was a main character. If there is a scientist who is a main character I'd be so happ!

And if the "Say What?" task gets enough votes in the poll many of these books would also earn combo points.

Don't forget to vote in the poll!

36119 The Eyre Affair

Yes! I've been meaning to read this one for months! (Okay, probably for years...)
Feb 26, 2011 07:54AM

36119 I was wondering about the Jasper Fforde books myself. I haven't started the series yet, but I've been meaning to read The Eyre Affair for months now.

Hey, wait a minute...... I think The Eyre Affair works as a rhyming title for 20.2.

36119 I was in the library this afternoon, and I stumbled across an author who has written several cozy mysteries with rhyming titles.

Valerie S. Malmont is the author

Some of the titles:
Death, Lies and Apple Pies
Death, Guns, and Sticky Buns

I can't vouch for the quality of the writing, but at least they fit the task.

The tasks for the Spring Challenge have been decided now. (Except for the poll, and the tasks from the top point earners in the Winter Challenge.)

You can start posting task ideas for the Summer Challenge though. :-)

Sam usually starts pulling the tasks together about a month before the new challenge starts.

Just as an FYI --- I just added a Help folder for Task 20.2. I figured we'd get more questions (and hopefully suggestions) about this Task as folks dug into it more. -Krista
