Thanks for your hard work! -Krista

I think this works for the Alliteration Task too, doesn't it?

Yep, that's always been the rule with Series points, you only get the 10, 15, 20 point Series Style points if each of the the books in the series are used for different tasks.

As usual, so many books ---- so little time.

Okay -- thanks. That's how I was thinking of it too.

It seems like those subtitles like ":A Novel", and "A Story" shouldn't count as they haven't counted for other tasks in the past. But I don't know precisely what you had in mind for this task.
Thanks!

I haven't finished tallying the last few posts that were made for the Winter Challenge. (It's been a crazy week.) I'll do that over the weekend. Would you like me to post a note in the Spring Challenge Completed Task folder when the final Winter points have been added?

I was wondering about this title too! I don't know how "Zoet" is pronounced. (1 syllable or 2?)
The Syllable Counter software pegs it at 10 syllables.

Hi AM10000 --
Welcome to the group. I hope you'll find that we're a friendly bunch. I know that we all try to be helpful. Please don't hesitate to ask questions if you need some help figuring anything out.
I think that most of us feel a bit overwhelmed at the beginning of the challenge. There are so many possible books, and trying to find the best task possible to maximize your Style points takes some research. You're not alone.
Again --- "Welcome!"

Instead of Sam's current task wording of:
..."but only if it doesn't fit any of the other Reading with Style 10 or 20-point tasks."
Maybe, it could be changed to:
...but only if it doesn't fit any of the other Reading with Style 10 or 20-point tasks except tasks 10.1, and 10.7?
Pretty please, Sam?
I know it's kind of nervy to ask, but I've got to give it a shot.

I think you could be right. :-) Boy, I'd better fill up my coffee cup and take a good long swig.
Jackie --- if you could include the book you read for Task 10.8, that would be great.
Thanks!

Hi Jackie: Either the book you linked here -- or the publication date shown is incorrect. The book "Charade" that you added in your post was published in 1994. If that's the correct book, it's not eligible for Oldies Style points.

Yes, this challenge instead of just getting an extra 10 bonus points just for reading a certain number of books in this category --- now you have to earn the bonuses. :-)
But on the upside, the bonuses can start with the first book read for Spring Cleaning.
Here's the excerpt from Sam's explanation on how to earn the bonus points. It's in the "How to Play Spring Cleaning" topic.
--------------
Each task is worth 15 points; however, you can receive bonus points in two different ways:
1) Read a book written prior to 1980, receive 5 bonus points.
2) Read a book with more than 500 pages, receive 5 bonus points.
A bonus of 150 points will be rewarded for anyone who completes all of the "Spring Cleaning" tasks.
-------------

Excel spreadsheet? Where do you see that? I'd love to be able to import a link to it, or download a copy of it. Thanks! -Krista

No worries. (I hope I didn't sound snotty in the post above.) I just thought you'd might like to know where/when Sam approved the book. :-)

Yep. Sam okayed [book:Twilight for Supernatural or Romance. (See msg 61.)

Hmmmm --- it can be set in the same land as the current country I suppose. If you want to go to the trouble to figure that out, then you deserve to use it for your task. :-)
Just explain how the country in the book relates to the modern day country when you post your points.
