Hi Guys! Well, the best laid plans and all that have conspired against me to get the scores caught up to date yet. I haven't forgotten about you all -- really! I'll work on the scores tonight, and hopefully get them all caught up over the weekend.

Remember you have until midnight PACIFIC time on Tuesday 5/31 to post your Completed Tasks. I will do a final point tally and update the Readerboard scores again next week after the challenge ends.

Whew, it's nice to see the positive comments here. I too am rather excited (like a kid let out of school for the summer) to be able to read anything I want without rhyme or reason. :-)

And dare I say it? It's a relief to be freed from the Scorekeeping duties for a quarter.

Liz did such a good job during the Spring. I sure appreciated her giving me a break for the greater portion of the Spring Challenge!

Hi Elizabeth: Thanks for that feedback. We were hoping that folks would be understanding about the summer break. I hope people do still post books in the Completed Tasks folder and continue to socialize here together.

I do so love seeing what everyone is reading. I'm excited about the new Review style points. I've been wanting that for awhile. So I hope folks use that one alot!!

Hi Everyone: I wanted to give you a heads-up that the Readerboard scores won't be updated until Monday. I haven't had a chance to work on them this week. (Sorry!) But on the upside (for me anyway) is that I'm heading out to the beach for the weekend in just a little while, and I'm not taking my laptop. I'm going to enjoy the gloriously sunny day outdoors!

Correct, you don't get combo points for the book when completing the task. Combo points only get added if the book qualifies for tasks other than the one you're claiming points for.

No, I don't think that this book will work.

Excerpted from the Task definition: "Read a book whose title has words that begin with the
same consonant or vowel sound. "

As you pointed out Cookie doesn't have the same sound as Chocolate and Chip.
