35559 My review of The Sparrow is finally up. I didn't cry, but there were definitely some heartbreaking moments.

35559 Finally completed "Quick! Lies!" Here's my story:

I set out to look for the Bellwether of my flock, which had run away into the forest, or maybe had been stolen, when I passed The Nutcracker and Mouse King in a clearing. They were fighting, and I got out of their way as quickly as I could. I walked a long way until I met The Thief of Always. He hadn't taken my bellwether, so I walked on until I met Hadji Murat, who told me to follow The Sparrow and I ended up here.

35559 Zuzana, I ended up reading a book for the letter S, see my previous comment.

Do I need to read another book for this stop?
If not, I'm done. I can start my book for the next stop pretty soon (tomorrow I think) if we're done that soon. Otherwise I'll wait.
Mar 20, 2017 07:08AM

35559 Thanks Karen!

Meditations sounds really interesting, Zuzana. It's on my TBR.

35559 Update - I'm on my iPod and not sure if I can edit the previous comment -
I don't really like the book I'm reading for the letter I. But yesterday I added a book to the book bank that could be used for O or S, if someone else doesn't mind switching letters.
I read it on the 16th-17th so I think it's in the time frame to get all the available points.

The book is Sandman 0: Overture, Neil Gaiman & JH Williams. I loved the art, & thought it was a satisfying prequel to the series
Mar 17, 2017 08:09AM

35559 I'll start (and probably finish) Days of Glory the first book in the Dies Irae series today:

35559 "I think that's referring to one of the monthly challenges around NBRC -- but I could be wrong on that. I think that's what others used."

Yes, but I'm not sure if I can just complete the first level for a monthly challenge, and have it count as finished? Like, the first level for Marvellous March Challenge is 4 books, but the highest level is 8+.

35559 For The Academy quest, does "finish a monthly challenge" just mean complete the first level?

Also I'm trying to use an NBRC Gift Card for that challenge because it looks like it expired. I keep getting an image error but I don't know what the problem is.
