35559 OMG sorry! I had a little bit of time this morning and was trying to be helpful. I am not used to that rule!!

Absolutely!

The easiest way is to go to the book's page and scroll all the way to the bottom and it will show you all the lists that book is on. Unfortunately, there's no easy search or anything. And it might only work on PC, not on the mobile app.

35559 I can read The Vegetarian, which is by a korean author. It's a short book, and I was going to concentrate on longer ones, but I think it's worth it if it gets us closer to a world wheel spin, right?

For the spa prompt, if anyone is interested, the Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren is a fun, entertaining romance and the MC definitely goes to the spa in there.

:D Yes, I have a stack that I've been avoiding because I love short books! But I'm going to make an effort to start those now.

And FYI - Graphic novels don't count unfortunately. :( I love a great graphic novel, but I read them on the side and don't log them.

If you want to move Rebel in the Deep to the water challenge, I'm sure we could find another book that works for R. :)

35559 Jacqueline- the best strategy now is to read big books. We get points per page, so we want the largest books you have on your tbr. Especially since we're reaching our book caps for the month. You can take longer to read them and they'll be worth more. :)

35559 Depending on which cover of The Light Pirate Ashley is reading, it has water on the cover.

The Sirens that Tara read should have water on the cover, but you'd have to move it from mini 3.

I am going to start a book tomorrow called The Watch That Ends the Night, and it has water on the cover. But it will take me a day or two to finish it.

Also, I think that one of Robin's books "An Amish Homecoming" covers multiple generations. Might want to confirm with her but it sounds like it might from the blurb.

35559 Oh, I just realized that I read it before the author from North Korea task was revealed, so it won't work for that one.

However, Robin's book The Burning by Tim Madigan is on the ALA's Office for Intellectual Freedom list in 2019 as either banned, challenged, or restricted in some way.

35559 In Order to Live has been banned in various places "including Florida, where it was removed from libraries in all Broward County public schools and from middle schools in Marion County."

The author was also born in North Korea. I put it in the mini 1 but you're welcome to move it if you think it's more valuable somewhere else.

35559 Woot woot! Great job team!! :D

Jacqueline - I believe the month is 30 days, not calendar month. So since TT started on May 17th, you have until mid June to read your 10 books. We definitely want to read as big of books as possible as they are worth more points. And it's my understanding that you can go over your 10 book cap and we can use them if other members don't reach their limits. So all reading is good! :)

I definitely finished it right after the new tasks dropped, so that must have just been my typo. I often log my books in the middle of the night and my brain isn't always all there. I've updated it on my shelf and the ss now. :)
May 24, 2025 08:12AM

35559 It is! It's been on my tbr forever so I'm excited to finally read it. Started last night but kept falling asleep and I have to work today so I'll read more tonight.
May 23, 2025 07:12PM

35559 Done! You can spin for a new task. :)
May 23, 2025 05:12PM

35559 I finished Vivek Oji. I've left it under the spell it out for now, but let me know if you'd rather I move it to the "tagged culture" prompt instead. :)
May 23, 2025 02:03PM

35559 I'm 75% of the way through The Death of Vivek Oji, and it's tagged cultural by 43 people, and culture by 14 people. I currently have it slotted in a spell-it-out spot, but am happy to move it. It was also originally published in August. Let me know where it helps the most!
May 22, 2025 07:33PM

35559 I have a book that I could read for a publishing date in June, but I currently have two other books on the go, so it wouldn't get done right away. If someone else has a June book done faster, please go ahead and take it!
May 22, 2025 02:16PM

35559 Oh Ashley - The Light Pirate is soooo good! :D
May 22, 2025 10:48AM

35559 Oh I also loved The Tainted Cup and thought the sequel was almost better as by then I understood the world better. It definitely does take a while to understand. I flipped between the audio and paper to understand the names and titles as they were confusing on audio.
